As of October 2026, the AI tools technical recruiters rely on fall into three jobs. For finding engineers: LinkedIn Recruiter's Hiring Assistant, SeekOut, hireEZ and Gem. For testing skills: CodeSignal and CoderPad. For running and documenting interviews: Metaview, BrightHire and Interview Signal. A fourth job, confirming that a remote candidate is who they claim to be, still needs a separate identity step that no tool on this list replaces. Pick by the job that costs your desk the most time, not by the longest feature list.
We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated. If you mainly need a note taker for an IT staffing desk, see AI note takers for IT staffing.

Which AI sourcing tool is best for technical recruiters?
LinkedIn Recruiter with Hiring Assistant
LinkedIn says Hiring Assistant runs dozens of searches across LinkedIn, helps evaluate applicants from LinkedIn and your ATS, and drafts personalized messages; it is sold as an add-on to LinkedIn Recruiter with no published price, and is available in English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian (LinkedIn). LinkedIn announced Hiring Assistant 2 on September 29, 2026, with updates rolling out to English-language customers from November (LinkedIn News). Best for: teams whose engineers are reachable on LinkedIn. Watch for: the price is a sales conversation.
SeekOut, hireEZ and Gem
SeekOut publishes one price, Sourcing Core at $149 a month billed annually or $179 monthly, and describes AI agents that find, evaluate and engage candidates on its full-funnel plan (SeekOut). hireEZ says solo recruiters start at $494 a month with a 7-day trial and lists open-web search across 45+ platforms, voice AI screening and 40+ native ATS integrations (hireEZ). Gem lists AI sourcing agents that search 800M+ profiles, a built-in ATS on its All-in-One plan, and free use for six months for companies under 30 employees (Gem). Best for: SeekOut for a lone sourcer, hireEZ for teams that want screening too, Gem for startups that also need an ATS. Watch for: none of the three pages mentions GitHub specifically, so if code-based sourcing matters, ask for a demo on a real search. Our Boolean strings for software engineers work in any of them.
Which coding assessment tools use AI?
CodeSignal
CodeSignal's Build plan is $79 a month billed annually or $99 monthly and includes AI interviewers for product, design and engineering plus agentic assessments with AI coding tools; Grow is $479 or $599, and Pro is custom (CodeSignal pricing). Its integrations page names Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, iCIMS and SmartRecruiters among others. Best for: consistent first-round skills screens at volume. Watch for: an AI interviewer changes the candidate experience; tell candidates what to expect.
CoderPad
CoderPad publishes Starter at $120 a month or $80 billed annually with 5 interviews a month (60 a year), Team at $500 or $400 with 30 a month, and Frontier Lite at $1,000 a month, annual only; extra interviews cost $30 each. Every plan includes an AI assistant in the pad with every prompt captured for playback, and webcam proctoring with AI behavior analysis is listed on Enterprise only (CoderPad pricing). Best for: live rounds where you want to see how a candidate works with AI. Watch for: interview quotas on the lower plans.
Which AI tools help run the technical interview itself?
For the screen and interview stages, the capture details matter. As published, October 2026:
| Tool | How it captures the call | Bot or no bot | Phone screens | ATS links | Published price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Metaview | Notetaker joins Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex | Bot | Call the Metaview switchboard | Long list | Free 25 calls/mo; Pro $60/user/mo | Teams that accept a bot |
| BrightHire | Inside Zoom; participant on Meet; recorder address on Teams | No per-call bot on Zoom | Click to call from the ATS | Greenhouse, Workday, iCIMS, Lever and more | Not published | Structured in-house loops on Zoom |
| Interview Signal | Desktop app captures audio on your computer | No bot | Yes, through the computer's audio | None | Free 20 min; Solo $49/mo | Recruiters who need help steering the call |
Sources: Metaview FAQ, BrightHire interview notes, our security page.
Metaview's homepage describes sourcing, application review and around-the-clock screening alongside notes and scorecards (Metaview); best for teams that want one vendor from sourcing to scorecard. BrightHire's higher tiers add agents for interview plans, intake and debriefs (BrightHire); best for in-house engineering loops. Interview Signal builds a question guide from the job description, suggests follow-ups with a reason (probe, clarify, evidence) and fills a scorecard with the candidate's own quotes; best for recruiters who cannot judge a technical answer but can judge whether it has evidence in it. It has no ATS integration and runs only on Windows and macOS. Our guide to interviewing for technical roles as a non-technical recruiter covers the same skill without any tool.
What about fake candidates in technical hiring?
The FBI's January 23, 2025 public service announcement said North Korean IT workers had used "artificial intelligence and face-swapping technology during video job interviews," and recommended identity verification during interviewing and onboarding, cross-checking applicants with matching resumes or contact details, and doing as much of hiring as possible in person (FBI IC3). None of the tools above verifies identity. Sourcing tools can surface duplicate profiles, coding tools can show how work was produced, and interview transcripts let you compare answers across rounds. Interview Signal's private answer check flags answers that read as AI-written or read out and suggests a question to try; it never changes a score. Keep identity checks as their own documented step.
How should a technical recruiter build an AI stack?
- Find the bottleneck. Too few qualified applicants points to sourcing; too many weak ones to assessments; inconsistent feedback to interview tools.
- Start with one tool. Run it on three live requisitions for a month and measure the one number it should move.
- Check the ATS link on a real record before you rely on it.
- Tell candidates where AI is used, especially AI interviewers and recordings. Our page on using AI in recruiting responsibly covers notice and human review.
- Keep humans on decisions. Use AI output as evidence for a scorecard, such as our software engineer scorecard, not as the decision.
Questions people ask
What AI tools do technical recruiters use in 2026?
Most combine a sourcing tool (LinkedIn Recruiter's Hiring Assistant, SeekOut, hireEZ or Gem), a coding assessment or live coding platform (CodeSignal or CoderPad), and an interview note taker (Metaview, BrightHire or Interview Signal). Each covers a different job, so few teams need all of them.
Which coding interview tools publish their prices?
As of October 2026, CodeSignal publishes Build at $79 a month billed annually or $99 monthly, and Grow at $479 or $599. CoderPad publishes Starter at $80 a month billed annually or $120 monthly, Team at $400 or $500, and Frontier Lite at $1,000 a month, annual only. Enterprise tiers are by quote.
How do coding interview tools handle candidates using AI?
Several now build AI into the test instead of banning it. CoderPad includes an AI assistant in the pad on every plan and captures every prompt for playback, and CodeSignal offers agentic assessments with AI coding tools. Cheating detection with webcam proctoring is listed on CoderPad's Enterprise plan only.
Can AI tools stop fake candidates in technical hiring?
Not on their own. The FBI warned in January 2025 that some North Korean IT workers used AI and face-swapping in video interviews, and recommended identity checks during interviewing and onboarding and doing as much of the process in person as possible. Treat identity verification as its own step.
