BrightHire and HireLogic are both interview intelligence tools that record interviews, summarize them and send insights to your ATS, but they reach the conversation in different ways. As of October 2026, BrightHire, owned by Zoom since December 2025, runs inside Zoom with no per-call bot, joins Google Meet as a participant and records Teams through a recorder address. HireLogic joins Zoom, Teams or Meet when invited by email, listens to phone calls you conference it into, and records in-person interviews through a companion app. Neither publishes prices.
Every vendor fact below comes from BrightHire's and HireLogic's own sites, or Zoom's announcement, checked in October 2026 and linked. For wider shortlists, see BrightHire alternatives and HireLogic alternatives.

How does each one get into the interview?
BrightHire: built around Zoom
BrightHire's interview notes page says its Interview Assistant "opens natively inside Zoom with no per-call bot required." On Google Meet it joins "as a participant through the calendar connection." On Microsoft Teams you add [email protected] to the invite, which BrightHire calls the most reliable method, or add #brighthire to the meeting details. Zoom's announcement says the acquisition closed in December 2025 and that customers keep access "across any platform where they work."
HireLogic: one method per interview type
HireLogic's homepage lists three: for video, "Invite HireLogic via email to Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. We will automatically join"; for phone, "Conference in the HireLogic phone number to listen to your call"; and in person, "Open the HireLogic companion app on any device to start listening."
The practical reading: on Zoom, BrightHire is the gentler candidate experience because nothing extra appears. On Teams and Meet, both add something to the call. For phone screens and in-room interviews, HireLogic tells you exactly what to do, while BrightHire lists the capability in its plan without describing the steps, so ask to see it. Our guide to recording a phone screen covers the trade-offs of conference-in methods.
What does each produce after the call?
BrightHire's notes page describes structured summaries organized by competencies you define before the interview, a scorecard auto-draft that "maps AI-generated notes to your specific ATS scorecard fields" for the interviewer to review and submit in one click, interview highlights playable in the ATS, and AI summaries for write-ups.
HireLogic's homepage describes a dynamic interview summary in short, medium or long versions, filterable by areas such as leadership or problem solving; topic highlights and candidate insights; a match of the discussion against the job description; a keyword cloud; strengths and concerns; and flags for potential compliance issues. Results are delivered by email, in the platform or to the ATS.
If your hiring managers fill in ATS scorecards, BrightHire's scorecard mapping is the more direct fit. If your team wants to see how well a conversation covered the job description, HireLogic's matching is closer to that.
What else does each do beyond notes?
BrightHire's pricing page lists four offerings without prices. BrightHire Screen is an AI interviewer that candidates answer asynchronously by voice or video, "available with the full platform or on its own." The Recruiters plan covers recording, notes, candidate alerts, summaries and one-click ATS scorecards. Teams adds intake and debrief agents, a candidate rediscovery agent, interviewer coaching tips, topic coverage, side-by-side comparisons and SSO. Enterprises adds custom reporting, custom ATS integrations, a REST API and "customized compliance detection, data retention & redaction."
HireLogic's Why HireLogic page lists intake call analysis that generates job descriptions and interview guides, an interview companion app with guides and rating capture, a private chatbot for questions about past interviews, smart résumé analysis, recruiting team analytics and automated AI interviews. If your intake calls are where requisitions go wrong, HireLogic's intake feature is worth a look; our intake meeting questions are the manual version.
How do they handle data and compliance?
BrightHire's notes page lists SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR compliance, bias audits "conducted by babl.ai," automatic consent notifications before interviews with an opt-out, role-based access, customer-controlled retention, and zero data retention options.
HireLogic's Why page says audio and video are not stored, PII is automatically redacted, it offers zero-transcript notes and custom retention policies, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and single sign-on works with Okta and Active Directory over SAML and OIDC. Its homepage shows SOC 2 and GDPR badges.
The design difference is worth noting: HireLogic says it keeps no audio or video, while BrightHire's plans list replays, clips and highlights playable in the ATS, alongside zero data retention options. Decide whether your legal team wants replayable interviews before you compare anything else, then ask each vendor what that choice switches off.
Should an AI interviewer run your first round?
Both vendors now sell one. BrightHire's pricing page describes BrightHire Screen as "an always-on AI interviewer": recruiters set up agents from job descriptions and interview plans with customizable questions and scoring rubrics, candidates "respond asynchronously, with no scheduling required" by voice or video from any device, and summaries, transcripts and scores appear in the ATS. HireLogic lists "Automated AI Interviews" to "qualify candidates faster at scale with an AI interview agent," with less detail on its site.
An AI that asks the questions and produces a score is a different risk from a note-taker. In New York City it can fall under the bias-audit rule covered in NYC Local Law 144 and AI note-takers, and candidates should be told they are talking to software. Ask each vendor for its most recent bias audit and for the exact notice text candidates see; BrightHire's notes page says its bias audits are conducted by babl.ai.
Which one suits your team?
| Your situation | Leans toward | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Interviews mostly on Zoom, candidates dislike bots | BrightHire | Native in Zoom, no per-call bot |
| Many phone screens and in-room interviews | HireLogic | Documented dial-in and companion app |
| Hiring managers complete ATS scorecards | BrightHire | Notes mapped to ATS scorecard fields |
| Staffing or RPO firm | HireLogic | Says it serves staffing and RPO teams |
| Your ATS must be named up front | BrightHire | 18 ATS listed; HireLogic names none |
| Legal wants no stored audio or video | HireLogic | Says audio and video are not stored |
| You want to try before a sales call | HireLogic | Free sign-up on the homepage |
Best for: BrightHire suits in-house hiring teams standardized on Zoom that want structured notes, ATS scorecards and interview-quality analytics. HireLogic suits HR, staffing and RPO teams whose interviews are a real mix of phone, video and in person, and who want intake-to-guide and compliance flags in the same tool.
What should you ask both vendors?
- Written price for [N] recruiters and [M] hiring managers,
minimum term and renewal cap.
- Live demo of a phone screen on [our phone setup]: steps,
what the candidate hears, time to notes.
- Show the output on a real [our ATS] candidate record.
- How are candidates told, and what happens when one declines?
- Which compliance flags exist, who sees them, and can we
turn them on for the plan we would buy?
BrightHire only
- Teams and Meet commitments in the order form, now that
BrightHire is part of Zoom.
HireLogic only
- Which ATS systems are supported today, by name?
What if neither fits?
Some teams want the call captured with nothing joining it on any platform and no dial-in step, plus a live question guide for the interviewer. We make Interview Signal, a Windows and macOS desktop app that does that, with transcripts kept on the interviewer's computer and published prices; it has no ATS integration and is newer, with few public reviews. Everything about BrightHire and HireLogic on this page comes from their own sites, linked and dated. Questions people ask
What is the main difference between BrightHire and HireLogic?
How they capture interviews and who they are built for. As of October 2026, BrightHire runs inside Zoom without a per-call bot, joins Google Meet as a participant and uses a recorder address on Teams, and targets in-house hiring teams with 18 named ATS integrations. HireLogic joins video calls when invited by email, listens to phone calls when you conference in its number, records in-person interviews through a companion app, and serves HR teams as well as staffing and RPO firms.
How much do BrightHire and HireLogic cost?
Neither publishes prices as of October 2026. BrightHire's pricing page lists BrightHire Screen and three platform plans with a request-a-demo button. HireLogic's homepage offers a free sign-up, and its former pricing page address returns a not-found error. Get written quotes for the same seat count before comparing.
Which one is better for phone screens, BrightHire or HireLogic?
HireLogic describes its phone method clearly: you conference in the HireLogic number to have it listen to the call. BrightHire's pricing page lists video, phone and in-person capture in its Recruiters plan but does not describe how phone capture works on the pages we checked in October 2026, so ask for a live phone demo.
Do BrightHire and HireLogic flag illegal interview questions?
HireLogic's homepage lists potential compliance issues, flagging discriminatory or personal questions. BrightHire's Enterprises plan lists customized compliance detection, data retention and redaction. Flags arrive after the question was asked, so pair either tool with structured questions and interviewer training.
