The strongest Fireflies.ai alternatives for recruiters as of October 2026 are Granola and Jamie for notes with no bot in any mode, tl;dv and Jamie for interview data kept in the EU, Metaview and BrightHire for recruiting-specific notes across many applicant tracking systems, CoRecruit for staffing agencies on Bullhorn and similar systems, and Interview Signal for evidence-checked scorecards and submittals. Most recruiters leave Fireflies for one of four reasons: its bot joins by default, its AI skills judge candidates, its data sits in the US, or their ATS is not on its list.
We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated.
What does Fireflies do well for recruiters?
Fireflies is a capable choice, and for many in-house teams it is enough. Its desktop app captures calls without a bot on Windows and Mac, including iPhone calls on a Mac and Android or iPhone calls on Windows through Phone Link (Fireflies help). It lists native integrations with Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Loxo, Gem and BambooHR (Fireflies integrations), more than any other general note taker we track. Pro is $18 a month or $10 billed yearly (Fireflies pricing). For setup and settings, see our Fireflies for recruiting review.
Why do recruiters look for a Fireflies alternative?
- The bot is the default. The Fireflies bot joins Zoom, Meet, Teams and other platforms through your calendar (Fireflies). New free users feel this most: for sign-ups on or after September 1, 2026, unlimited free transcription applies only while Auto-join is on (Fireflies help).
- The bot-free mode gives up detail. In system-audio mode Fireflies saves no audio or video file and labels speakers Speaker 1, Speaker 2 (Fireflies help), so you check every quote's speaker by hand.
- AI judgments about candidates. Fireflies' recruiting page offers a Candidate Sentiment Analyzer and a Culture Fit Extractor (Fireflies). Teams wary of AI scoring candidates, for reasons covered in our NYC Local Law 144 guide, may prefer tools that keep to evidence.
- US storage by default. Data is stored in the United States on AWS and GCP unless you buy Enterprise private storage (Fireflies help).
- No agency ATS. Bullhorn and JobAdder are not on its integrations list.

Which Fireflies alternatives keep interview data in the EU?
For recruiters hiring in the UK or EU, where a candidate's interview is personal data under GDPR, the location of the transcript is often the first question from legal. Three alternatives publish an EU answer:
- Jamie uploads audio to a server in Frankfurt, deletes all audio files once the transcript is ready, and stores transcripts in Frankfurt (Jamie).
- tl;dv says its services are hosted in the European Economic Area, with AI processing of limited transcript portions in the EU or US depending on the setting you choose (tl;dv privacy).
- Bluedot stores and processes customer content in the EU by default (Bluedot privacy), and connects natively to Ashby.
Interview Signal takes a different route: transcripts, quotes and notes stay on the recruiter's own computer, and audio is sent in short chunks to a speech-to-text provider during the call and not retained (security). Our UK GDPR guide covers what to tell candidates either way.
Each alternative, and who it suits
Granola
Granola uses your computer's audio, never joins the meeting, and keeps no audio (Granola). It shapes notes from what you type, so it rewards interviewers who already take notes. Best for: hiring managers who want no bot and no recording kept.
Jamie
Jamie runs on the device with no bot on Mac and Windows, and its free plan covers 10 AI notes a month of up to 30 minutes (Jamie pricing). It cannot record phone calls. Best for: EU recruiters who want bot-free notes with audio deleted.
tl;dv
tl;dv records with a bot by default; its desktop app records without one, audio only (tl;dv help). Greenhouse is the one ATS on its integrations page (tl;dv). Best for: EU in-house teams on Greenhouse who share video clips with hiring managers.
Metaview
Metaview is built for recruiting, with a free tier of 25 calls a month, Pro at $60 per user per month (Metaview pricing), and a botless desktop app for Mac and Windows launched October 12, 2026 (Metaview). Best for: recruiting teams whose ATS is not on Fireflies' list.
BrightHire
BrightHire drafts ATS scorecards from its notes and lists Bullhorn alongside in-house systems such as Workday and iCIMS (BrightHire). Best for: structured in-house hiring on Zoom.
CoRecruit
CoRecruit is built for recruitment and staffing agencies: no visible bot, built-in VoIP, and updates to Bullhorn, Vincere, Loxo, Crelate and more (CoRecruit). Best for: agency desks that live in Bullhorn.
Interview Signal
Ours never sends a bot. It runs on Windows and Mac beside Zoom, Teams, Meet and phone screens through the computer, labels your microphone as the interviewer and the meeting's sound as the candidate, and builds a scorecard where every quote is checked against the transcript. Its private answer check, which flags answers that read as AI-written or read out, never changes a score and never goes into the submittal. Weaknesses: no ATS integration, desktop only, no video recording, few public reviews yet. Best for: recruiters who want evidence, not sentiment, after each screen.
What should you check before switching from Fireflies?
- Which AI Skills your team actually uses. If anyone relies on sentiment or culture fit outputs today, decide whether that practice should continue at all before you look for a tool that replicates it.
- Where your existing transcripts go. Move the interview records you must keep into your ATS or file store, and delete the rest under your retention policy; our guide to keeping interview notes helps set the period.
- Calendar auto-join. Turn it off while you trial a replacement so candidates do not meet two note takers in one call.
- Speaker accuracy. Run the same three interviews through each shortlisted tool and check that every quote is attributed to the right person.
- Your consent line. Name the new tool in it. Our consent script has wording.
When should you stay with Fireflies?
Stay if your company already uses Fireflies for sales and internal meetings, your ATS is on its list, and a bot in the call is acceptable to your candidates, or you are happy to run the desktop app for interviews. Switch if any of the four reasons above cost you a candidate, a security review or an hour a week. If cost is the deciding factor, our pricing comparison sets the published prices side by side, and the Otter alternatives page covers the other common starting point.
Questions people ask
Is there a Fireflies alternative that never sends a bot into the interview?
Yes. As of October 2026, Granola, Jamie, CoRecruit and Interview Signal capture calls without a bot in every mode. Otter and tl;dv also offer bot-free desktop apps alongside their meeting bots.
Which Fireflies alternative keeps interview data in the EU?
Jamie says audio is processed in Frankfurt, deleted once the transcript is ready, and that processing stays within the EU. tl;dv says its services are hosted in the European Economic Area, and Bluedot stores customer content in the EU by default, as of October 2026. Fireflies stores data in the United States by default.
Did the Fireflies free plan change for new users?
Yes. Fireflies' help center says that for users who sign up on or after September 1, 2026, the free plan's unlimited transcription applies only while Auto-join is on, which sends the bot to meetings; with it off, the default is three meeting transcriptions.
Which Fireflies alternative works with Bullhorn?
Fireflies does not list Bullhorn as of October 2026. CoRecruit lists Bullhorn, Vincere, Loxo and Crelate among more than 40 systems, and Metaview and BrightHire both include Bullhorn in their integration lists.
