Honeit is a recruiting platform built around the screening call: candidates book through a scheduling link and talk to you by phone, browser or video inside Honeit, or its notetaker joins your Teams, Meet or Webex interview, and each call becomes a transcript, an AI summary, audio soundbites and a candidate presentation you can send to a hiring manager. Unlike general note takers, it records phone screens natively, plays a recording disclaimer to the candidate, and lists 35 applicant tracking systems, Bullhorn and JobAdder among them. As of October 2026 it costs $79 to $129 per recruiter seat a month, with a 14-day free trial.
Below: how Honeit captures each kind of call, what candidates hear and see, its plans in recruiting terms, the ATS picture, and where it stops. Every product fact links to honeit.com or Honeit's help center and is dated October 2026. For general note takers reviewed the same way, see our Otter and Granola pages.
How does Honeit capture a phone screen or interview?
Honeit's how it works page describes three ways to talk to a candidate, and its help center adds a fourth for calls made elsewhere.
| Method | How it works | What the candidate experiences |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled Honeit call | You share a scheduling link; the call happens in Honeit by phone, VoIP or video | Books a slot, then dials in or clicks "Join Call" in a browser, with nothing to install; hears a disclaimer that the call is recorded (candidate guide) |
| Outbound call from Honeit | You dial from Honeit with a dedicated number and branded caller ID | An ordinary phone call from a recognizable number |
| Honeit Notetaker | A bot joins your Teams, Meet or Webex call; you must admit it; audio only (help article) | Sees a participant named "Honeit Notetaker" and the platform's own recording notice |
| Upload a recording | Upload an MP3 (up to 500MB) or MP4 (up to 100MB) recorded on your phone or another system to the candidate's record (help article) | Whatever your own phone or system told them |
One caution on Zoom: Honeit's pricing and platform pages list Zoom for the notetaker, but its help article, dated July 13, 2026, says the notetaker is temporarily unavailable for Zoom. If your clients or hiring managers interview on Zoom, confirm the status in your trial. Honeit's pages describe no in-person capture; an onsite interview would need a separate recorder and the upload route.
What happens during the call
Call guides are built per role from the intake, and notes, scores and soundbites attach to the question that produced them as you talk. Honeit's help center notes that on the notetaker you follow the guide in another tab, and that without a call guide you get a transcript and summary but no automatic audio clips. Honeit lists transcription in 23 languages on its platform page.
What do candidates hear, and how do you handle consent?
This is where Honeit differs most from bot-free note takers. Its help center says guests joining a Honeit call hear a verbal disclaimer, and that you can choose the wording at the company or user level from preset prompts such as "this call will be recorded" or a version that names quality control and training. Candidates can opt out of the recording, and for an outbound call to someone who declines, Honeit's "Start with Recording Off" option runs the call guide with typed notes and no audio.
- Pick the prompt that matches your purpose. If recordings are used only for this hiring process, do not choose a "training" prompt.
- Say it yourself as well on notetaker calls, where the only notice is the bot's name and the platform's indicator.
- Pro adds consent logging, an audit trail and retention policies, per the pricing page; Core does not list them.
- Summaries stay with you. Honeit says notetaker recordings and summaries are visible only to the user who invited it, not shared automatically.
State laws differ on whose consent you need; see two-party consent states and is it legal to record a job interview. This is general information, not legal advice.
What does Honeit cost for a recruiter?
From Honeit's pricing page, as of October 2026, with a 14-day free trial and no card. The last column is our arithmetic.
| Plan | Price | What matters for recruiting | Per seat per quarter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | $79 per recruiter seat a month, billed quarterly | VoIP and video calls, AI notes and scorecards, candidate identity checks, candidate presentations, one ATS integration | $237, or $330 with Phone & SMS |
| Phone & SMS add-on (Core) | $31 per seat a month | Dedicated number, outbound and cold calling, two-way texting, branded caller ID | $93 |
| Pro | $129 per recruiter seat a month, billed quarterly or annually | Phone & SMS included, hiring manager review seats, compliance and audit trail, unlimited ATS integrations, API | $387 |
| Enterprise & RPO | Custom, billed annually | Client workspaces, SSO and SCIM, custom compliance and integrations | Quote |
On Pro and Enterprise, extra interviewer seats are $19 a month for people who run their own interviews, and review seats for hiring managers are free on Pro. Phone, video and SMS are under fair use in the US and Canada. The optional AI Pre-Screener is sold in credits from $1.50 each (100 credits for $200, 500 for $875, 1,000 for $1,500).
Which ATS does Honeit connect to?
Honeit's integrations page lists 35 applicant tracking systems, among them ADP Workforce Now, Ashby, BambooHR, Bullhorn, Crelate, Greenhouse, iCIMS, JazzHR, JobAdder, JobDiva, Jobvite, Lever, Loxo, Oracle Taleo, Recruiterflow, SAP SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Teamtailor, Vincere, Workable, Workday and Zoho Recruit, and says it pushes interview intelligence, scorecards, submissions and transcripts into them. Its help center has dedicated setup guides for fewer: Crelate, Greenhouse, Lever, Loxo, Recruit CRM and SmartRecruiters (ATS integrations article). If your system is on the long list but not the short one, ask in the trial exactly which fields are written and test it on a dummy candidate.
The output agencies care about is the candidate presentation: one link with the summary, scores and audio clips of the candidate's own answers, sent with an AI-drafted submission email. Review it before it goes, and compare it with what your clients expect from a written candidate submittal.
Does Honeit use AI to score candidates?
Honeit's trust page says no: AI transcribes, lays out the scorecard, timestamps soundbites and drafts a summary, while the recruiter fills in the scores, and Honeit says it never rates, ranks or screens out candidates and does not analyze emotion or personality. It argues this keeps it outside NYC Local Law 144's definition of an automated employment decision tool; that is Honeit's position, and your counsel should make the call. The same page says there is "no automated phone screen," while the pricing page sells an AI Pre-Screener; ask Honeit how the two fit before you turn the pre-screener on.
Where does Honeit stop for recruiting?
- Calls must run through Honeit to be captured live. A screen on your own mobile is an upload afterward.
- Zoom notetaker status is listed as temporarily unavailable in the help center.
- No in-person capture is described; see our in-person interview guide for that case.
- A platform, not a plug-in. Scheduling, calling and presentations move into Honeit, which is a bigger change than adding a note taker.
- Price per seat of $79 to $129 a month pays off only if you use the calling, scheduling and presentation workflow, not just the notes.
Who should use Honeit?
A good fit if:
- You are an agency or RPO recruiter whose day is phone screens, and clients want to hear candidates in their own words.
- You want candidates to hear a recording disclaimer on every call without relying on memory.
- Your ATS is on Honeit's list and you want notes and submissions synced.
Look elsewhere if:
- You want to keep your own phone and video tools and only add notes.
- Most of your interviews are in person; our Plaud review covers a recorder for that.
We make Interview Signal, one alternative for recruiters who want to keep their own phone and video tools: a Windows and macOS app with no bot that captures Zoom, Teams, Meet and phone screens run through the computer, keeps a question guide on screen and drafts a scorecard and submittal. It has no ATS integration (you paste the output), no calling or scheduling of its own, and does not record audio clips for clients. Everything about Honeit on this page comes from its own site, linked and dated.
Questions people ask
How does Honeit record a phone screen?
The call runs through Honeit. As of October 2026 a candidate books through your Honeit scheduling link and joins by dial-in or in the browser, or you call out from Honeit with a Honeit number; candidates hear a recorded disclaimer when they join. A call made on your own mobile is not captured live, but Honeit lets you upload the recording afterward as an MP3 or MP4.
How much does Honeit cost?
As of October 2026 Honeit's Core plan is $79 per recruiter seat a month billed quarterly, with phone and SMS as a $31 add-on, and Pro is $129 per seat a month billed quarterly or annually with phone and SMS included. Enterprise and RPO pricing is custom, and there is a 14-day free trial with no card.
Which ATS does Honeit integrate with?
Honeit's integrations page lists 35 applicant tracking systems as of October 2026, including Bullhorn, Crelate, Greenhouse, Lever, JobAdder, JobDiva, Loxo, Vincere and Workday. Core includes one ATS integration and Pro includes unlimited. Its help center has setup guides for Crelate, Greenhouse, Lever, Loxo, Recruit CRM and SmartRecruiters.
Does Honeit score or rank candidates with AI?
Honeit says no. Its trust page, as of October 2026, says AI transcribes, structures the scorecard layout and drafts a summary, while the recruiter fills in the scores, and that it never generates a rating or ranks candidates. Its pricing page also sells an AI Pre-Screener by the credit, so ask Honeit how that feature fits before you use it.
