Zoho Recruit has an AI feature that transcribes and summarizes interviews, but it only works on one-way recorded interviews, where candidates record answers on their own. Called AI Interview Insights and powered by Zia, it is available on Enterprise, People Plus and Zoho One, as described by Zoho in October 2026. Live video interviews are recorded but not transcribed or summarized, according to Zoho's help documentation. For notes on live interviews, the documented integrations are Metaview and CoRecruit.
There is also a trap specific to Zoho: several popular notetakers advertise a "Zoho integration" that turns out to be for Zoho CRM, not Zoho Recruit. This page sorts out which is which, what lands where in Zoho Recruit, and what to test. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.
What Zoho Recruit does natively
- AI Interview Insights (Zia): Zoho's announcement describes transcripts and summaries for each answer in a recorded one-way interview. It lists availability on Enterprise, People Plus and Zoho One, in US, India and EU data centers, in eight languages.
- Live video interviews: Zoho's live interview help article describes recorded live interviews that can be played back for six months. It does not describe a transcript or AI summary of them.
- Plans: Zoho Recruit's pricing page (Corporate HR edition) lists Standard at $25 a recruiter a month billed yearly or $30 monthly, Enterprise at $50 or $60, and a Video Interview add-on at $12 per job opening, as of October 2026.
So the native AI covers the screening step where candidates record themselves, and the recording covers live interviews. What it does not do is read a live conversation and write you a note.
Integrations that write into Zoho Recruit
| Tool | Where it is documented | Capture | What reaches Zoho Recruit | Published pricing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Metaview | Metaview help center (via Kombo) | Joins video calls | Notes as an attachment on the application; links, tags and stage moves; no auto-scheduling | Free 25 calls/mo; Pro $60/user/mo (pricing) |
| CoRecruit | CoRecruit integration page | Zoom, Teams, Webex, plus a Chrome extension | Notes in the Notes section; fields filled | From $64/user/mo billed annually (pricing) |
| Spark Hire | Zoho Marketplace | One-way video interviews | Video interviews inside Zoho Recruit; extension is free, version 1.0 from 2020 | Spark Hire priced separately |
Metaview's guide says the connecting account needs View permission on Applications. CoRecruit's field filling is the most structured output of the three, which is useful for agencies that track compensation and availability in custom fields, and risky if the AI fills a field wrongly. See our CoRecruit alternatives page for how it compares elsewhere.
The Zoho CRM trap
Zoho runs dozens of products, and "integrates with Zoho" usually means Zoho CRM. In October 2026 the Zoho integrations advertised by Fireflies, Otter and Noota were for Zoho CRM, not Zoho Recruit. Fireflies, BrightHire and Willo can reach Zoho Recruit only through Zapier.
That matters because a Zapier connection is something you build and maintain yourself. It can create a note when a meeting ends, but it has to match the meeting to the right candidate, usually by email address, and it breaks silently if a field name changes. If a vendor tells you it "works with Zoho", ask for the Zoho Recruit help article specifically. Our Fireflies for recruiting guide covers the copy-and-paste and Zapier routes in more detail.
The phone-screen gap
Zoho Voice has a native Zoho Recruit integration that logs calls and makes recordings accessible from Zoho Recruit. Zoho's documentation for it does not mention transcription or summaries, so a recruiter still has to listen back or write notes from memory. CoRecruit's Chrome extension and conferencing integrations target video calls; check phone support with CoRecruit directly. Metaview captures phone calls through its own phone numbers. Our guide to recording a phone screen covers other routes.
Which interviews each option covers
| Interview type | Native Zoho Recruit | Integrated notetaker |
|---|---|---|
| One-way recorded interview | Transcript and summary (Enterprise and above) | Not needed |
| Live video interview in Zoho Recruit | Recording, playable six months | Depends on whether the tool can join that meeting; test it |
| Zoom, Teams, Webex interview | Not covered | Metaview, CoRecruit |
| Phone screen | Zoho Voice recording, no transcript | Check with each vendor |
Getting more from what Zoho Recruit already does
Before adding a vendor, check whether moving some interviews into the format Zoho already transcribes would solve part of the problem. If your first round is a set of standard questions (availability, pay, right to work, a couple of experience questions), a one-way recorded interview with Zia's insights gives you a transcript and a summary per answer without any third party. The live conversation can then be shorter and focused on the things that need a real exchange.
That only works if you are on Enterprise or above, and if candidates in your market are comfortable recording themselves. For agency desks that sell on relationship and speed, it often is not the right first step. For in-house teams screening high volumes of similar applicants, it may cover more than you expect. Run it on one job opening before deciding a live-interview notetaker is the only answer, and compare how long reviewers spend on a Zia summary against a live-call note for the same role.
What to test before rollout
| Check | Pass looks like | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Right product | The integration connects to Zoho Recruit, not Zoho CRM | |
| Record matching | Notes land on the right candidate and application | |
| Field filling | Fields filled by AI are correct, and a recruiter's manual value is not overwritten | |
| Permissions | The integration account has only the access it needs | |
| Phone path | Phone screens are captured or a manual fallback is agreed | |
| Data center | Your Zoho data center region is supported by the vendor | |
| Deletion | A candidate's recording and transcript can be deleted in both systems |
The field-filling check matters most for agencies. If a recruiter has typed a candidate's confirmed salary and the AI overwrites it with a figure from an earlier call, the error travels straight into a submittal.
A note format that suits Zoho Recruit
[Job opening] – [Client or department] – [Date] – [Phone / video]
Recommendation: [Submit / Next round / Hold / Reject]
Fit, in the candidate's words:
- [Requirement]: "[quote]"
- [Requirement]: "[quote]"
- [Requirement]: "[quote]"
Current salary [ ] Expected [ ] Notice period [ ]
Location / remote: [ ]
Other processes: [ ]
Consent to record given: [Yes]
If you track salary or notice period in Zoho Recruit fields, keep the note values and field values in sync by hand until you trust the integration's field filling. Our candidate submittal template shows the client-facing version.
Consent and data residency
- Spoken notice: one line at the start of every call. Our consent script has wording.
- Data centers: Zia's interview insights list US, India and EU data centers. Check where each third-party tool stores data if you chose a Zoho region for compliance reasons.
- Recording retention: live interview recordings are playable for six months in Zoho Recruit; set your own retention for any third-party recordings.
Standalone tools, and who each option suits
Interview Signal has no Zoho Recruit integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the recruiter's own computer, including phone screens, keeps transcripts local, and produces a scorecard and submittal quoting the candidate that you paste into Zoho Recruit or attach to the record. If you need notes and fields written automatically, use Metaview or CoRecruit.
- Zia AI Interview Insights: teams that already screen with one-way recorded interviews on Enterprise or above.
- Metaview: teams that want a free tier to trial and are fine with notes as an attachment.
- CoRecruit: agencies that want notes and structured fields filled, and can pay per seat.
- Zoho Voice: teams that need call recordings logged against candidates, without transcripts.
- A standalone tool: phone-heavy desks, or anyone who wants notes without connecting a third party to Zoho.
Questions people ask
Does Zoho Recruit have an AI notetaker?
Partly. As of October 2026 Zoho describes AI Interview Insights, powered by Zia, which produces transcripts and per-answer summaries, but only for one-way recorded interviews, on Enterprise, People Plus and Zoho One. Live video interviews in Zoho Recruit are recorded and playable, but Zoho's help documentation does not describe transcripts or AI summaries for them.
Which notetakers integrate with Zoho Recruit?
Metaview documents a Zoho Recruit integration, built through Kombo, that attaches notes to the application and can add links, tags and stage moves. CoRecruit documents pushing notes to the Notes section and filling fields. Both were confirmed on the vendors' own pages in October 2026.
Do Fireflies and Otter integrate with Zoho Recruit?
Not directly, as far as we found. The Zoho integrations that Fireflies, Otter and Noota advertise are for Zoho CRM, a different product. Fireflies, BrightHire and Willo can reach Zoho Recruit only through Zapier.
Can Zoho Recruit record phone screens?
Zoho Voice has a native Zoho Recruit integration that logs calls with recordings accessible from Zoho Recruit. Zoho's documentation for that integration does not mention transcription or AI summaries, so you get a recording, not notes.
