The best interview scorecard software, as of October 2026, is usually the scorecard inside your ATS: Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workable and Teamtailor all let you build a scorecard per interview, require it, and hide other interviewers' feedback until each person submits. What the ATS cannot fix is a scorecard filled in late, from memory, with no evidence. That is what AI tools such as Metaview, BrightHire and Interview Signal address, by drafting or filling the scorecard from the interview itself.
We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated. If you just need the form, copy our interview scorecard template; this page compares the software that collects, checks and reports on scores.
What makes a scorecard tool worth paying for?
Any form can hold a rating. Software earns its place when it protects the quality of the scores:
- Independence. Interviewers should not see each other's ratings before submitting their own, or the first opinion sets the rest.
- Anchored scales. Each point on the scale should describe what an answer sounds like. See choosing an interview rating scale.
- Evidence. A score without the candidate's words behind it cannot be challenged or defended. Our guide to evidence-based feedback shows the difference.
- Timeliness. Reminders and a report of who is late, because scores written two days later are mostly memory.
- Calibration. A view of how each interviewer rates compared with others, so a harsh or lenient scorer can be spotted.
How do the main scorecard tools compare?

Which ATS has the best scorecards?
Greenhouse
Greenhouse scorecards have key takeaways, attributes and an overall recommendation. Attributes use a five-point scale from Definitely Not to Strong Yes, and scorecards are required for each interview by default (Greenhouse). Admins choose whether interviewers see other scorecards never, always, or only after submitting their own. Its interviewer engagement report shows average hours to submit and scorecards still due (engagement report), and a calibration report shows how each interviewer rates (calibration report). Best for: teams that want to manage interviewer behavior, not just collect forms.
Ashby
Ashby's feedback forms support score, multiple-choice and yes/no questions that can be required or private; the overall recommendation is a score out of 4 and cannot be removed. Interviewers can be shown others' feedback only after submitting their own, and required feedback triggers daily email reminders (Ashby docs). Its AI Notetaker suggests feedback form answers from the transcript. Best for: teams that want flexible forms and strong reporting.
Lever, Workable and Teamtailor
Lever's feedback forms support multiple-choice, yes/no, checkbox and scorecard formats, and its structured interview guide says forms stay hidden until all interviewers have submitted. Workable's overall rating and comment are mandatory, and evaluations are hidden between event invitees until each submits, by default. Teamtailor rates skills and traits on a 1-to-5 scale. Best for: teams already on one of these systems, which should switch on the hiding and reminder settings before buying anything else.
Which tools fill in the scorecard for you?
Most scorecard problems are not about the form. They are about interviewers filling it in late, from memory, with one line of comment. AI tools now draft it from the interview:
- Metaview can automatically generate a draft scorecard after each interview and, if an admin allows, post it straight to the ATS; its Fill Scorecard feature works for Greenhouse, Ashby and Gem (Metaview). Best for: in-house teams on those systems with chronic late scorecards.
- BrightHire maps notes to ATS scorecard fields and submits them in one click (BrightHire). Best for: large teams interviewing on Zoom.
- Greenhouse Notetaker drafts notes mapped to scorecard questions that interviewers add in one click, and Greenhouse's AI scorecard summaries show where interviewers agree or disagree, citing the original comments (Greenhouse).
- Interview Signal fills the scorecard as the interview goes, lets you press Evaluate to score on demand, and attaches the candidate's own quotes to every score, checked against the transcript. On panels, only which questions were asked and the scores are shared, never transcripts. Best for: hiring managers and recruiters who want a scorecard they can defend in the debrief. Weak spots: no ATS integration (export a CSV row or paste the notes), desktop only, and few public reviews so far.
One caution applies to all of them: an AI-drafted score is a suggestion. If interviewers accept it without reading the evidence, you get the model's judgment rather than the interviewer's. Require a human to confirm or change every score.
Do you need scorecard software at all?
Not always. A team of five hiring a few people a year can run a spreadsheet with an anchored 1-to-4 scale, an evidence column, and a rule that everyone submits before the debrief. If some competencies matter more than others, see the arithmetic in our weighted scorecard guide. Software starts paying off when several hiring teams interview at once and someone needs to see who is late, who is harsh and who never writes evidence.
What should happen after the scores are in?
Scorecards feed a decision, so check how each tool supports the debrief. Ashby lists debriefs on all its plans, and Greenhouse's AI scorecard summaries pull out shared themes and disagreements across interviewers. Whatever the tool, the debrief works best when people read the evidence before they argue about the numbers:
- Open with the competency where scores differ most, not with the overall recommendation.
- Ask each interviewer for the quote or example behind their score.
- Record the decision and the reason in the same place as the scorecards.
Our interview debrief template gives an agenda you can paste into any of these systems.
How to choose interview scorecard software
- Audit ten recent scorecards. Count the ones submitted the same day and the ones with a quote or example per rating.
- Fix settings first. Required scorecards, hidden feedback until submission and reminders cost nothing in most ATSs.
- Add AI drafting if lateness or thin evidence remains. Pilot with two hiring teams for a month.
- Calibrate quarterly. Compare interviewer averages and discuss outliers in an interview calibration session.
- Check what gets stored. Recordings and transcripts attached to scorecards are candidate data with retention rules.
If your problem is earlier in the process, inconsistent questions rather than inconsistent scores, see structured interview software.
Questions people ask
What is the best interview scorecard software?
For most in-house teams it is the scorecard in their ATS: as of October 2026, Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workable and Teamtailor all let you build scorecards per interview and hide other interviewers' feedback until each person submits. Add a tool such as Metaview, BrightHire or Interview Signal if the problem is late or evidence-free scorecards rather than the form itself.
Can interviewers see each other's scores before they submit?
It depends on the setting. As of October 2026, Greenhouse lets admins choose never, always, or only after submitting their own; Ashby can hide feedback until an interviewer submits; Workable hides evaluations between event invitees by default; and Lever's own guide says forms are kept hidden until all interviewers have submitted. Turn this on, because early exposure to other scores anchors the rest of the panel.
Can AI fill in an interview scorecard automatically?
Yes. As of October 2026, Metaview can draft a scorecard after each interview and post it to Greenhouse, Ashby and other systems, BrightHire maps notes to ATS scorecard fields, Greenhouse Notetaker drafts notes mapped to scorecard questions, and Interview Signal fills its scorecard during the call with quotes checked against the transcript. Treat an AI draft as a suggestion that the interviewer must confirm.
Is there free interview scorecard software?
A shared spreadsheet or form with an anchored 1-to-4 scale and an evidence column works for small teams at no cost. Among paid tools, Metaview has a free plan of 25 calls a month and Interview Signal includes 20 free minutes, but full ATS scorecards come with a paid ATS subscription.
