Metaview and Carv both turn recruiter conversations into notes and ATS updates, but they are built for different desks. As of October 2026, Metaview is a recruiting platform centered on interview notes, with a Notetaker that joins Zoom, Teams, Meet and Webex, a new botless desktop app, and a published price (free for 25 calls a month, Pro at $60 per user per month). Carv is an "autonomous hiring platform" for volume hiring, with agents that join calls and update the ATS plus voice agents that screen applicants in 99 languages, and it does not publish prices.

Every vendor fact below comes from Metaview's and Carv's own sites, checked in October 2026 and linked. For longer shortlists, see Metaview alternatives and Carv alternatives; this page is only the two of them.

How do Metaview and Carv compare at a glance?

"Not stated" means we did not find it on the vendor's pages, not that the product cannot do it.

What is each product built for?

Metaview: notes first, agents around them

Metaview's homepage lists Sourcing, Application Review, Screening, Notes, Reports, Outreach and Job Posts, plus an AI coworker it says "finds candidates, runs personalized outreach, and books screening calls." The notes product is the anchor: its interview notes page says notes and completed scorecards post to the candidate's record automatically, with templates, candidate summaries and short video snippets. The FAQ on the homepage says recruiters, hiring managers and executive search partners use it.

Carv: agents for high-volume pipelines

Carv's homepage says it lets you "build, deploy & manage recruitment agents at scale" and names staffing, logistics, retail and BPO and contact centers. Its agents page lists more than ten agents, including Screening, Scheduling, Assessment, Sourcing, Talent Pool Reactivation, Onboarding, Compliance and an Admin agent. The admin side is what overlaps with Metaview: Carv's zero admin page says it "joins your calls, chats, and meetings, turns every interaction into structured data," and handles notes, write-ups, CV parsing and ATS updates.

Put simply: Metaview starts from the interview and adds agents; Carv starts from the pipeline and treats the interview as one input among chats, calls and forms.

How does each one capture interviews and phone screens?

Video calls

Metaview's Notes FAQ describes a Notetaker bot on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex and Zoom, which a host may need to admit from the lobby, and a status for when a candidate opted out of Metaview joining. On October 12, 2026, Metaview announced a desktop app that records "without a bot joining the meeting," and its download page lists Mac and Windows. Which meeting apps the desktop app supports, and on which plans, is not stated yet.

Carv's Bullhorn page says it connects to recruiter calendars, "joins every candidate interaction," and supports video, phone, text chat and in-person meetings. Its integrations page lists Teams, Google Meet and Zoom. We did not find a description of whether a visible participant appears on the call, so make that the first thing you watch in a demo.

Phone screens

Metaview's phone FAQ spells out the mechanics. You register your outbound number, then call through the switchboard or one-click calling from the browser or your phone. It works with mobile and landline calls and VoIP services such as Teams Phone, Google Voice, RingCentral and Aircall, but not WhatsApp or FaceTime, and it does not capture general inbound calls, so a candidate ringing you back is missed unless the call started through Metaview.

Carv lists Aircall as its phone integration and says phone calls are supported, without describing the steps on the pages we checked. Its Voice AI page describes something different: an AI agent that phones applicants itself, screens them "the moment they apply," and writes call notes, transcripts, availability and notice period back to your system.

Do you want AI to run the screening call?

This is the question that usually decides between them. Carv's Voice AI page says the agent "speaks 99 languages fluently" and switches language mid-call; the use case is replacing a recruiter's first call on high-volume roles. Metaview's homepage lists a Screening agent, and its October 2026 update added coding questions and role-play scenarios to screening. Both are AI conducting or assessing a candidate conversation, which brings obligations:

  • New York City's bias-audit rule may apply to tools that score or rank candidates; see NYC Local Law 144 and AI note-takers. Carv's Bullhorn page mentions "NYC-144 readiness."
  • In the EU, AI used to evaluate candidates falls in a high-risk category; see the EU AI Act for recruiting.
  • Candidates should know when they are talking to an AI, what it records, and how to reach a person instead.

If your desk wants recruiters on every first call, Carv's strongest feature is one you will not use, and the comparison narrows to notes, ATS coverage and price.

Which ATS does each connect to?

Metaview's integrations page shows more than 100 ATS names, including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, iCIMS, Bullhorn, SmartRecruiters, JobAdder and Loxo. Carv's integrations page lists 16: Jobylon, Lever, Recruit CRM, Greenhouse, Avature, Avionté, Ezekia, Workable, Tigris, Recruitee, RecruitNow, JobAdder, OTYS, Loxo, Carerix and Bullhorn.

The overlap is large for mainstream systems. The difference is at the edges: Carv's list includes Carerix, OTYS, RecruitNow and Jobylon, so if you run one of those, ask Metaview in writing whether it is supported rather than relying on a logo search. On Bullhorn, Carv says it pre-fills ATS fields after every interaction and that "you can always review and edit before saving." Ask both vendors to show which Bullhorn or JobAdder fields they write, as covered in our guide for staffing agencies.

What does each cost?

Metaview's pricing page shows, as of October 2026: Free at $0 with 25 calls per month and basic transcription; Pro at $60 per user per month with unlimited calls and priority processing; Enterprise at tailored pricing. The full agent suite is "custom pricing." The Notes FAQ adds that Free users have restricted access to calls older than 14 days. Carv's pricing page shows no plans or prices and asks you to request a demo.

Example arithmetic for Metaview Pro, to set against a Carv quote:

Seats (example)Metaview Pro per monthPer year
8 recruiters8 × $60 = $480$5,760
25 recruiters25 × $60 = $1,500$18,000

If Carv quotes per agent, per conversation or per hire rather than per seat, convert it to a cost per recruiter per month at your real volume before comparing.

- Which bias audit or AI-law documentation can you share?

What if neither fits?

If what you actually want is notes without a participant on any platform, plus a guide for the recruiter who is still doing the talking, bot-free desktop tools are compared in AI note-takers without a bot. We make Interview Signal, one of those tools: a Windows and macOS app that captures audio on the recruiter's computer with no bot, builds a question guide from the job description and writes a client submittal, with published pricing and no ATS integration (you paste the output); everything about Metaview and Carv on this page comes from their own sites, linked and dated. For a head-to-head on a different pairing, see Metaview vs HireLogic.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between Metaview and Carv?

Metaview is a recruiting platform built around interview notes, with a Notetaker for video calls, a botless desktop app, phone capture through its switchboard, and sourcing and screening agents. Carv is an autonomous hiring platform for volume hiring, with agents that join calls and write notes and ATS updates, plus voice agents that screen candidates in 99 languages. As of October 2026, Metaview publishes prices and Carv does not.

Is Metaview or Carv cheaper?

Only Metaview publishes a price: a free plan with 25 calls per user per month and Pro at $60 per user per month, as of October 2026. Carv's pricing page asks you to request a demo. Get Carv's quote in writing for your real seat count and compare it with Metaview's published rate.

Which works better for a staffing agency, Metaview or Carv?

Carv is built for volume hiring and lists industries such as staffing, logistics and retail, with 16 ATS integrations that include Bullhorn, Carerix and OTYS. Metaview lists more than 100 ATS including Bullhorn, JobAdder and Loxo and publishes a price. A high-volume desk that wants AI screening calls leans toward Carv; a desk that mainly wants interview notes and a visible price leans toward Metaview.

Do Metaview and Carv join the call as a bot?

Metaview's Notetaker joins Zoom, Teams, Meet and Webex as a participant, and since October 2026 Metaview also offers a Mac and Windows desktop app that records without a bot. Carv's pages say it joins calls, chats and meetings through your calendar but do not say whether a visible participant appears, so ask Carv to show a live call.
