Humanly's AI Notetaker is a meeting bot for recruiters: it joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams interviews as a participant, transcribes them, writes a structured summary aligned to the hiring stage and competencies, and attaches the summary and transcript to the candidate and requisition in your applicant tracking system (ATS). As of October 2026 it is one product in Humanly's AI recruiting platform for high-volume, hourly and frontline hiring, sold by demo with no published price. It fits in-house teams on a supported ATS that run many structured interviews; it does not describe phone-screen capture, and its summaries include sentiment and behavioral signals worth reviewing with counsel before you switch them on.

Every fact about Humanly below comes from humanly.io, checked in October 2026 and linked. Humanly publishes no help center for the notetaker, so where its pages are silent we say so rather than guess.

What is Humanly's AI Notetaker?

Humanly describes itself on its homepage as an AI recruiting platform for high-volume hiring that engages, screens, interviews and schedules candidates. The AI Notetaker page sits next to four other products: an AI Recruiter for engagement and scheduling, an AI Interviewer that runs structured chat, voice and video interviews on its own, a Talent CRM, and an ATS built for frontline and hourly teams.

The notetaker is the piece for interviews a person still runs. The recruiter or hiring manager leads the conversation; the bot listens, and Humanly turns the call into notes for the ATS. That is a different job from the AI Interviewer, which asks the questions itself; our explainer on what an AI interviewer is covers that format and the rules around it.

How does it get into an interview?

As a participant. The product page tells you to add the notetaker to a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams interview "like a normal attendee," and its FAQ says it "joins as a silent participant." Humanly's launch article adds three details that matter in practice:

  • Auto-join or manual join. Your organization chooses whether the bot joins every scheduled interview or only the ones you invite it to.
  • Meeting policies still apply. Humanly says it respects existing meeting access and security policies, so a host's lobby or a client's rules can stop it.
  • No action from the candidate. Once invited, it joins on its own; the candidate simply sees another attendee.

That last point cuts both ways. A visible bot is honest about the recording, but it is also one more name in the participant list for a nervous candidate to ask about. On Teams it can also be held at the door: Microsoft's admin documentation says the default policy detects external bots and keeps them in the lobby until an organizer admits them. If your hiring managers host on Teams, tell them to expect it. Our comparison of AI note takers for Teams interviews covers the lobby in detail.

What does the summary contain?

Humanly says the summary is generated right after the interview and is configurable by role, interview type or hiring stage, and its launch article says an organization can set several summary prompts and rules so each interview type gets its own template. The product page lists what the summaries assess:

  • key strengths, risks and notable signals for the role;
  • topic coverage against the recommended competencies;
  • talk-time balance and words per minute;
  • candidate sentiment, empathy and curiosity signals, and behavioral cues;
  • highlighted key moments from the interview.

The first two help a debrief directly: they tell you what the candidate said about each competency and which competencies the interviewer never covered. The rest need more care. Speaking pace, sentiment, empathy signals and behavioral cues describe how someone talked, not what they have done, and they can reflect nerves, accent or a disability as easily as ability. Ask Humanly which of these can be switched off per interview type, and decide before launch whether interviewers will see them at all.

Two rules make that decision more than a matter of taste. In New York City, Local Law 144 bars employers from using an automated employment decision tool without a bias audit within the past year and notice to candidates (NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection); whether a scored summary counts depends on how much your decisions lean on it, which our Local Law 144 guide walks through. In the EU, the European Commission's guidelines on prohibited AI practices say emotion recognition during recruitment is prohibited, so ask Humanly how "sentiment" and "empathy signals" are produced before you use them with EU candidates. This is not legal advice; check both with counsel.

Where do the notes go, and which ATS does it support?

Into your ATS, automatically. Humanly says the notetaker detects the candidate and the requisition, uploads the summary, transcript and interview metadata, and files them under a section named "Humanly" on the record, with manual reassignment when it matches the wrong candidate. Its FAQ adds that it works with existing ATS platforms or with Humanly's own ATS and Talent CRM.

The notetaker page names no ATS. Humanly's partners page lists technology partners including Greenhouse, iCIMS, Lever, JazzHR, Jobvite, Taleo, Workday and SAP, and says Humanly integrates with "most major ATS/HCM" platforms. That list covers the whole platform, so confirm in the demo that the notetaker's write-back, not only the AI Recruiter's, works with your system. Our page on note takers for Greenhouse shows what one of those systems accepts from a note taker and how to check it. Agency systems such as Bullhorn, JobAdder, Loxo and Crelate are not on Humanly's list, which fits its focus on employers hiring hourly staff rather than staffing desks.

How much does Humanly's AI Notetaker cost?

Humanly does not publish a price. Every call to action on the notetaker page leads to a demo request, and we found no pricing page on humanly.io as of October 2026. Before the demo, decide what you need priced:

  • whether the notetaker is sold on its own or only with the AI Recruiter, AI Interviewer or ATS;
  • whether it is priced per recruiter seat, per interview, per hire or per location;
  • whether hiring managers who only interview need paid seats;
  • the contract term and what happens to recordings and transcripts if you leave.

Without a list price, the only fair comparison is a written quote for your real volume: the number of interviewers, interviews a month and locations you hire for.

Humanly's privacy policy has a "Consent to Record" clause: Humanly may record calls and video interviews between customers and candidates, and by using its services customers and users consent to that recording. Its general retention clause says personal data is kept only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and the policy's South Africa section says candidate records and interview recordings are kept for the duration of the client contract. Requests to access or delete data go to [email protected].

A clause in a vendor's policy is not notice to the person on the call. In states that require every party's consent, you still need to tell the candidate before the interview starts. A line in the calendar invite and a sentence at the start of the call do the job; our consent script has wording. Then ask Humanly how long recordings stay in its system after they reach your ATS, and how to delete one candidate's interview on request.

Where does Humanly stop for recruiting?

These gaps come from what Humanly's own pages describe as of October 2026; ask in the demo, since the product may do more than its pages say.

  • No phone screens described. The notetaker names Zoom, Teams and Meet only. If many of your screens are phone calls, see how to record a phone screen.
  • No in-person mode described. We found nothing on capturing an interview in a room.
  • A visible bot. Simple and consistent, but the candidate sees it, and Teams holds it in the lobby by default.
  • Help after the call, not during it. Humanly says AI identifies key moments in real time, but the output it describes is the post-interview summary, not prompts for the interviewer.
  • No client submittal. The summary is written for the hiring team and the ATS, not for an agency's client.
  • No public price or documentation. You cannot compare cost or read setup steps before a sales call.

Who should choose Humanly's AI Notetaker?

A good fit if:

  • You already use, or are buying, Humanly's AI Recruiter, AI Interviewer or ATS, and want interview notes in the same place.
  • You hire at volume for hourly or frontline roles and every interview is on Zoom, Teams or Meet.
  • Your ATS is one of Humanly's technology partners and automatic write-back matters more than anything else.
  • Your interviewers are comfortable with a visible bot, and your candidates expect it.

Look elsewhere if:

  • Many of your screens are phone calls or in person.
  • You are an agency on Bullhorn, JobAdder or another system Humanly does not list.
  • You need a price before a sales call, or a single seat for one recruiter.
  • You do not want sentiment or behavioral signals anywhere near a hiring decision.

We make Interview Signal, a Windows and macOS desktop app that is one alternative for recruiters who want no bot in the call: it captures Zoom, Teams, Meet and phone screens run through the computer, keeps a question guide on screen during the interview and drafts a scorecard with quotes checked against the transcript, though it has no ATS integration and you paste its notes in by hand. Everything about Humanly on this page comes from Humanly's own site, linked and dated. Our side-by-side comparison sets out where Humanly is the better choice.

Questions people ask

Does Humanly's AI Notetaker join the interview as a bot?

Yes. As of October 2026, Humanly says its AI Notetaker joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams interviews as a silent participant that you invite like a normal attendee, with auto-join or manual join set by your organization. Candidates see it in the participant list, and on Teams a detected bot can be held in the lobby until someone admits it.

Which ATS does Humanly's AI Notetaker send notes to?

Humanly says the notetaker attaches the summary, transcript and interview details to the right candidate and requisition in your ATS, or in Humanly's own ATS. Its notetaker page names no ATS; its partners page, as of October 2026, lists technology partners such as Greenhouse, iCIMS, Lever, JazzHR, Jobvite, Taleo, Workday and SAP. Agency systems such as Bullhorn and JobAdder are not on that list.

How much does Humanly's AI Notetaker cost?

Humanly does not publish a price. As of October 2026 its site sells the AI Notetaker, like the rest of the platform, through a demo request, and we found no pricing page on humanly.io. Ask whether it is priced per seat, per interview or as part of a platform bundle.

Can Humanly's AI Notetaker record phone screens?

Not according to its own pages. As of October 2026 Humanly names Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet for the AI Notetaker and describes no phone or in-person capture, so plan a different method for phone screens.
