Screenloop is not just an interview notetaker: it is a full applicant tracking system with interview intelligence, references, background checks and analytics built in, and it can also plug its interview intelligence into other ATS platforms including Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby and Pinpoint, according to its own site as of September 2026. That combination is the reason teams look at it in the first place, and it is also why the right alternative depends on a question Screenloop itself does not answer for you: do you want to replace your ATS, or keep it and add a plug-in.

This page splits alternatives along that line: options that work alongside whatever ATS you already run, and options that bundle a full ATS with interview intelligence the way Screenloop does. It also covers what Screenloop's own pages leave unstated, a trial checklist, and when staying put is the right call. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.

What Screenloop is, as published

  • Standalone ATS: Screenloop's own ATS page describes a unified platform covering applicant tracking, interview insights, references, background checks, interviewer training and analytics.
  • Interview Intelligence module: its interview intelligence page describes an AI notetaker that auto-fills scorecards, sorts candidate responses against defined attributes, and generates summaries and key moments, in 35+ languages.
  • Video and integration support: Screenloop's integrations page names Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams for video, and Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby and Pinpoint among ATS integrations, alongside BambooHR, HiBob, Zelt, Personio and Factorial for HRIS, and Certn for background checks.
  • Pricing: not published on the pages we checked. Screenloop directs visitors to book a demo rather than showing a price.

Why teams look at alternatives

  • Not ready to switch ATS. A team happy with Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby may want interview intelligence without a full platform migration.
  • Pricing is opaque. With no published number, a team cannot compare cost against a specific budget without a sales call, which slows down an early evaluation.
  • Capture method is unstated. Screenloop's own pages do not say whether the notetaker joins as a visible participant or captures audio another way, which some teams need to know before a pilot.
  • A narrower need. A team that only wants notes and scorecards, not references, background checks and an ATS, may be paying for a broader platform than it needs.

If you want to keep your current ATS: plug-in alternatives

These integrate with an existing ATS rather than replacing it. As published by each vendor, as of September 2026.

ToolATS integrations namedCapturePublished pricing
Metaview60+ ATS platforms including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Bullhorn (integrations page)Joins video calls as a participant; phone via its switchboard (FAQ)Free 25 calls/mo; Pro $60/user/mo (pricing)
BrightHireGreenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday (pricing page)Not stated on the pages we checkedRecruiters, Teams and Enterprises tiers named, no amounts published
HireLogicNamed ATS integrations include Crelate (Crelate listing)Invited into telephone, VoIP, video and in-person meetingsNot published on the pages we checked

Metaview's integration count is the widest of the three, which matters if your team might change ATS later and wants the notetaker to follow. BrightHire's own pricing page names three tiers without amounts, and adds an AI-interviewer product, BrightHire Screen, that can pair with its interview intelligence, which is a different thing from a notetaker and worth understanding separately before a demo. HireLogic stands out for covering in-person meetings, which neither Metaview nor Screenloop's own pages describe.

If you would consider switching ATS: combined platforms

Screenloop's pitch, an ATS with interview intelligence built in rather than bolted on, is not unique. Two ATS platforms already ship their own native AI notetaker as part of the product, which is the closer comparison if you are open to changing systems rather than adding a plug-in.

Ashby AI Notetaker

Ashby is a full ATS with an AI Notetaker add-on described on its own product page. As covered in our Ashby notetaker piece, it joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams as a participant, does not cover phone or in-person rounds, and its add-on page names no public price, with 500 interviews included on every plan to trial it.

Greenhouse Notetaker

Greenhouse is a full ATS with Notetaker built in, covered in our Greenhouse notetaker piece. It supports Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, English only, with retention configurable up to 60 days by a Site Admin.

Both are a bigger decision than adding a plug-in, since you are changing the system every recruiter and hiring manager works in daily, not just adding a tool on top. Weigh that migration cost against what you actually gain over a plug-in approach before treating "combined platform" as automatically better.

What Screenloop's own pages don't say

Two gaps are worth naming plainly. First, capture method: none of Screenloop's product, integration or interview intelligence pages state whether the AI notetaker joins a call as a visible participant or captures audio without one, which several of its competitors do state clearly. Second, pricing: with no published number and conflicting third-party estimates, you cannot build a real cost comparison until you talk to sales. Ask both questions directly and get the answers in writing before a pilot, rather than assuming either based on what similar tools do.

  • What does the candidate actually see? A tool that joins as a visible participant shows up in the meeting; one that captures device audio does not. Get this in writing, not inferred from a demo.
  • Where does the recording and transcript live? Ask whether data stays with the vendor's cloud, syncs to your ATS, or both, and who at your company can access it.
  • Can a hiring manager exclude a sensitive interview? A panel discussing a candidate's disability accommodation or a confidential reorg should not be captured the same way as a routine screen by default.
  • How long is a recording kept, and can one be deleted on request? Compare each vendor's answer against your own retention policy rather than accepting whatever the default is.

None of the vendors above publish a full answer to every question on their marketing pages, which is normal: this is the kind of detail that surfaces in a security review or a sales call, not a product page. Ask before a pilot starts, not after candidate data is already flowing through the tool.

A trial checklist to copy

QuestionWhy it mattersAnswer
Does the notetaker join as a visible participant?Affects candidate experience and client-hosted interviews
What is the actual price at our seat count? Not published; get a number in writing
Does the scorecard auto-fill match a human scorer? An auto-filled competency that misreads the transcript is worse than none
What happens to existing ATS data if we migrate?Only relevant if you are considering the standalone Screenloop ATS, not the plug-in
Which languages are supported for transcription?Screenloop names 35+; confirm your team's actual languages are covered
Can one candidate's data be deleted on request?Needed for data-subject deletion requests under most privacy laws

Standalone tools and where Interview Signal fits

A narrower option than any of the above is a standalone notetaker with no ATS connection at all, used alongside whichever ATS you already have, with the note pasted in by hand. Interview Signal is in this group: it has no Screenloop or ATS integration. It is a desktop app with no bot, so it works the same way on Zoom, Teams, Meet or a phone screen, and it produces a scorecard with quotes checked against the transcript. This suits a team that is not ready to commit to a plug-in contract or an ATS migration and wants to see whether structured interview notes change anything before buying either.

Who should stay with Screenloop

Teams already running Screenloop as their ATS, satisfied with the bundle of applicant tracking, interview intelligence, references and background checks in one contract, have less reason to unwind that setup than the switching costs suggest. Screenloop is also worth a serious look, not an alternative, for a team building its hiring stack from nothing that wants one vendor rather than assembling an ATS, a notetaker and a background check provider separately, provided the unpublished pricing and capture-method questions above are answered before you sign.

Questions people ask

Is Screenloop an ATS or an interview intelligence tool?

Both. Screenloop describes itself as a unified hiring platform combining applicant tracking, AI interview insights, references, background checks and analytics, according to its own site as of September 2026. It also integrates its interview intelligence with other ATS platforms, including Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby and Pinpoint, for teams that want the intelligence without switching ATS.

Does Screenloop publish its pricing?

No. As of September 2026 we found no pricing on Screenloop's own site; it directs visitors to book a demo. Third-party listings show figures that conflict with each other, so treat any specific number you see elsewhere as unverified until Screenloop's own sales team confirms it.

What are the main alternatives to Screenloop's interview intelligence?

If you want to keep your current ATS, Metaview and BrightHire both publish native integrations with ATS platforms including Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby, and HireLogic works across phone, video and in-person interviews. If you would consider switching ATS, Ashby and Greenhouse each ship their own native AI notetaker as an add-on rather than requiring a separate interview intelligence platform.

Does Screenloop say whether its notetaker joins as a bot?

Not on the pages we checked. Screenloop's product and integration pages describe the notetaker auto-filling scorecards but do not state whether a visible participant joins the call or whether capture is device-based, so ask this directly before a pilot.
