The main Sembly alternatives for recruiting as of October 2026 are CoRecruit for staffing agencies that want notes and submittals pushed into Bullhorn or another agency ATS, Metaview for interview notes written into a long list of applicant tracking systems, Fireflies and MeetGeek for a choice between a bot and a bot-free desktop app with ATS links, Jamie for EU data and no bot, Otter for low cost, and Interview Signal for no bot, phone screens and submittals built from evidence-checked scorecards. People usually leave Sembly because its agent is always visible in the call, it does not record phone calls, or it names no ATS.
We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated.
What does Sembly do well, and what would you give up?
Sembly is unusually focused on what a client sees. Its HR and Recruitment page describes branded candidate profiles that "reach clients within hours of the interview," candidate comparison tables, and custom deliverables such as market maps and salary reports in each client's branding, derived from the client's website. Every paid plan includes unlimited meeting capture, and Basic starts at $10 a month billed yearly (pricing). Of the tools below, only CoRecruit describes branded submittals; the rest give you notes, scorecards or a plain submittal. Our Sembly AI for recruiting review covers it fully.
Why do recruiters look for a Sembly alternative?
- The agent is always in the call. Sembly "appears as a visible participant with a name like 'Sembly Agent'" (help center), and client lobby settings decide whether it gets in.
- No desktop recorder. "For desktop users, Sembly is only available as a web app" (apps).
- No phone calls. "Sembly does not record phone calls"; you upload a recording made elsewhere (phone calls).
- No ATS. Its integrations cover CRMs, project tools, Zapier, webhooks and MCP, but no Bullhorn, JobAdder, Greenhouse or Lever.
- Credits. AI work such as deliverables uses monthly credits that expire at month end on Basic and Pro.

Each alternative, and who it suits
CoRecruit
CoRecruit is built for agencies. Its pricing page describes "botless AI notetaking" with "no meeting disruption or visible bots," capture across cell phone calls, VoIP, Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, WhatsApp, FaceTime and in-person meetings, and free VoIP with unlimited US and Canada calling. Its home page says it pushes "structured notes, custom fields, and branded submittals directly into your ATS/CRM," with native mapping for Bullhorn, Vincere, Crelate, Loxo and more than 40 others. Plans start at $64 per user per month paid annually, or $85 monthly on an annual term, with a 12-month minimum and a 7-day trial. Best for: staffing agencies that want Sembly's client-ready output without a bot, inside their ATS.
Metaview
Metaview's Notetaker joins Google Meet, Teams, Webex and Zoom as a participant, and its desktop app for Mac and Windows records "without a bot joining the call" (Metaview desktop). Phone calls go through the Metaview switchboard (FAQ). Its integrations include agency systems such as Bullhorn, JobAdder, Loxo and Crelate as well as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday. Free covers 25 calls a month; Pro is $60 per user per month. Best for: recruiting teams whose priority is notes on the ATS record.
Fireflies
Fireflies offers its Notetaker bot or a desktop app that records system audio without one, and the desktop app also captures phone calls through FaceTime on a Mac or Phone Link on Windows (Fireflies help). It connects to seven applicant tracking systems, Loxo among them, and Pro is $10 a seat a month billed yearly ($18 monthly). Best for: in-house teams on Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby.
MeetGeek
MeetGeek gives you a bot or bot-free capture on every plan, syncs recordings, transcripts and highlights to Greenhouse, and stores calls from Aircall and RingCentral (integrations). Pro is $9.99 a month billed yearly for 20 hours. Interview Signal vs MeetGeek compares it with ours. Best for: Greenhouse teams who dial through Aircall or RingCentral.
Jamie
Jamie runs on your device with no bot, stores transcripts in Frankfurt after deleting the audio (data handling), and can email attendees a recording notice before the meeting. It cannot record phone calls and names no ATS. Interview Signal vs Jamie covers it in detail. Best for: European teams that want EU data handling and a notice sent ahead of the call.
Otter
Otter's desktop app records Zoom, Meet and Slack Huddles without a bot (Otter desktop), its Notetaker can join instead, and its Recruiting Agent adds resume summaries and a Greenhouse sync through Zapier. Phone calls must be recorded separately and imported. Pro is $8.33 a month billed yearly. Best for: recruiters who want the lowest-cost transcript and summary.
Interview Signal
Ours is a Windows and Mac desktop app with no bot. It works beside Zoom, Teams, Meet and phone screens taken through the computer, shows a question guide from the job description during the call, and writes a scorecard whose quotes are checked against the transcript, then a client submittal in the agency's template. Hour packs start at $9 and never expire; Team is $49 a seat a month billed yearly with a three-seat minimum (pricing). Weaknesses: no ATS integration, no branded design, desktop only with no mobile app, no video recording, few public reviews yet, and phone screens must run through the computer. Interview Signal vs Sembly compares the two directly. Best for: agency recruiters who want a submittal from each screen without a bot in the call.
Before you switch: three checks
- Count the phone share. If most first screens are phone calls, rule out any tool that cannot capture them; how to record a phone screen covers the setups.
- Save what Sembly holds. Its recruiting page describes an agency-wide candidate knowledge base; export the profiles and submissions you need into your ATS before you cancel, and set a deletion date for the rest using Sembly's retention options.
- Rewrite your notice. Without a visible agent, the candidate's only cue is what you say. Our consent script has wording; this is not legal advice.
When should you stay with Sembly?
Stay if your interviews are on video, your clients accept a visible agent, and branded profiles or comparison tables are part of how you win and keep clients. Switch when the agent is blocked, phone screens go unrecorded, or copying notes into your ATS costs real time each week.
