Screenloop is an applicant tracking system for in-house talent teams with interview intelligence built in: its AI Notetaker records, transcribes and summarizes interviews and syncs notes into scorecards in Screenloop or in Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby or Pinpoint, with prices available only through a demo as of October 2026. Interview Signal is a desktop app that captures the interview on the interviewer's computer with nothing joining the call, runs a question guide during it, and writes a quote-checked scorecard and a client submittal at published prices, but it does not write into any ATS. Choose Screenloop if you want one platform for hiring and interview data synced into scorecards automatically; choose Interview Signal if you want a standalone interview tool that works on any call without changing your ATS.
We make Interview Signal. Every fact about Screenloop below comes from Screenloop's own site or help center, checked in October 2026 and linked. For other options, including plug-in notetakers for your current ATS, see Screenloop alternatives.

Does Screenloop join the call as a bot?
It varies by platform. Screenloop's Google Meet article says Screenloop detects the scheduled meeting and a recording assistant named after your organization joins the interview; the host must admit it, ideally in the first 10 minutes, and personal Gmail accounts are not supported. For Zoom, the Zoom article says "Cloud recording is required for Screenloop to retrieve interview recordings," with a Zoom Pro or higher license, admin access and automatic cloud recording turned on. The Teams article does not say how capture works, but it requires an active Teams and ATS integration.
The pattern matters: Screenloop is built around interviews scheduled through a connected ATS, and the Teams article warns that interviews scheduled outside that workflow may not sync correctly. That suits an in-house team with disciplined scheduling. It suits an ad hoc phone screen or a client-hosted call less well.
Interview Signal never joins the call and does not depend on the meeting platform's recording. It runs on Windows 10/11 or macOS 13 or newer, labels the microphone as the interviewer and the meeting's sound as the candidate, and works beside Zoom, Teams and Google Meet whoever hosts the meeting. Our guide to recording a Zoom interview without a bot explains the options.
Which one handles phone screens?
We did not find phone screens or in-person interviews described on Screenloop's pages; its integrations page lists video platforms and no telephony. Interview Signal captures a phone screen whenever the call runs through the computer's audio, such as a softphone, though it has no mobile app for calls on a handset. See our guide to recording a phone screen.
What do you get during the interview, and after it?
Screenloop's interview intelligence page describes an AI Notetaker with an automatic summary, a word-for-word transcript, auto-detected questions with summarized answers, responses sorted into predefined attributes, key-moment clips, action items, and "Sync notes to ATS scorecards automatically." It also includes coaching tools Interview Signal does not offer: reverse shadowing with timestamped feedback, training clips, and post-interview analytics on talk ratios, speed and sentiment. During the call, its Interview Sidekick lets you type timestamped notes, flag moments with quick reactions and tag scorecard attributes with star ratings, with the Screenloop Chrome extension installed.
Interview Signal is more directive during the call. It builds a question guide from the job description, keeps must-ask questions pinned until asked, suggests follow-ups with a reason (probe, clarify or evidence), fills the scorecard as you go and scores on demand with Evaluate, with an optional second model (Dual AI). A private answer check flags answers that read as AI-written or read aloud and offers a question to try; it never changes a score or reaches the submittal. Afterward each score carries the candidate's quotes, checked against the transcript, and agencies get a client submittal in their own template. Our interview scorecard template shows the structure either tool's output should support.
Where does the interview data go?
With Screenloop, interview data lives in Screenloop and syncs to your ATS: on Zoom, the help center says it downloads recordings from Zoom cloud storage and links them to candidates. We did not find a storage region or retention period on the Screenloop pages we checked; ask for its security documentation.
Interview Signal keeps transcripts, quotes, candidate names, notes and submittals on the recruiter's computer. Audio goes to a speech-to-text provider in short chunks during the call and is not retained, and our server keeps only counts and durations (security details). On a panel, interviewers share which questions were asked and the scores, never transcripts.
Which one connects to your ATS?
Screenloop, by design: it is an ATS, and its integrations page lists Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby and Pinpoint for teams that keep their current system. No agency ATS such as Bullhorn or JobAdder appears there.
Interview Signal has no ATS integration. It exports by copy, Markdown, Word, a CSV row, email or Slack, and shapes notes for Bullhorn, Greenhouse, Lever or JobAdder for you to paste. If your team wants scorecards filled inside the ATS without anyone pasting, Screenloop does that and Interview Signal does not.
How much does each one cost?
Screenloop publishes no prices as of October 2026; its pricing address leads to a demo booking page. The homepage says that with its ATS you unlock the whole platform "at no extra cost." Interview Signal prices are on our pricing page; totals are our arithmetic.
| Situation | Screenloop | Interview Signal |
|---|---|---|
| Trying it | Demo | 20 minutes free, no card |
| One recruiter | Not published | Solo $49/mo or $468/yr |
| Team of three, billed yearly | Quote required | 3 × $49 × 12 = $1,764 |
| Hiring manager with a few interviews | Not published | 5 hours for $29, never expiring |
The two are hard to compare on price because they are different purchases. Screenloop is usually a decision about your ATS; Interview Signal is a tool one person can buy this afternoon.
Should you choose Screenloop or Interview Signal?
Choose Screenloop if:
- You are an in-house team open to replacing your ATS, or you use one of its listed ATS integrations.
- You want scorecards filled in the ATS automatically, without copying.
- Interviewer training, shadowing and analytics are part of what you are buying.
- Your interviews are scheduled through the ATS on Google Meet, Zoom (with cloud recording) or Teams.
Choose Interview Signal if:
- You want no participant in the call and no reliance on the platform's own recording.
- You run ad hoc screens, phone screens through the computer, or calls hosted by clients.
- You are an agency recruiter who needs a client submittal.
- You can accept no ATS integration, desktop only, no video, and a newer product with few public reviews.
Best for, in one line: Screenloop is best for in-house teams that want ATS and interview intelligence in one platform; Interview Signal is best for individual recruiters and hiring managers who want a bot-free, standalone interview tool.
What should you ask before you decide?
1. Screenloop: how are Microsoft Teams interviews captured, and
what does the candidate see?
2. Screenloop: what happens to an interview scheduled outside the
ATS, such as an ad hoc phone screen?
3. Screenloop: price for our seat count, with and without its ATS.
4. Compare an auto-filled Screenloop scorecard with an Interview
Signal scorecard for the same interview. Check the quotes.
5. Where is interview data stored, and for how long?
If you are comparing other plug-in notetakers for an existing ATS, see Greenhouse Notetaker alternatives. Interview Signal's walkthrough shows the full flow before you install anything.
Questions people ask
Is Screenloop an ATS or a note-taker?
Both. As of October 2026 Screenloop describes itself as an AI-native applicant tracking system for in-house talent teams, with interview intelligence, background checks, referencing, interviewer training and analytics included. Its AI Notetaker also plugs into other ATS platforms, including Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby and Pinpoint, and syncs notes into scorecards there.
Does Screenloop join interviews as a bot?
It depends on the platform. Screenloop's help center says a recording assistant named after your organization joins Google Meet interviews and must be admitted, while for Zoom it pulls the meeting from Zoom cloud recording, which needs a Zoom Pro or higher license. Interview Signal never joins the call; it captures audio on the interviewer's computer.
How much does Screenloop cost?
Screenloop does not publish prices as of October 2026; its pricing address leads to a demo booking page. Interview Signal publishes its prices: 20 free minutes, hour packs from $9, Solo at $49 a month and Team at $49 a seat a month billed yearly with a three-seat minimum.
Which is better for an agency recruiter, Screenloop or Interview Signal?
Interview Signal is the closer fit for agencies, because Screenloop positions itself for in-house talent teams and ties capture to interviews scheduled through a connected ATS. Interview Signal works on any Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or computer-based phone call and writes a client submittal, though it has no ATS integration.
