Supernormal and Interview Signal now capture calls the same way, from a desktop app with no bot in the meeting, but they are aimed at different desks. As of October 2026, Supernormal describes itself as "AI agents built for agencies": its Mac and Windows app takes meeting notes, then its agents turn them into emails, slides, documents and spreadsheets, on credit-based plans from $20 a month for 50 credits. Interview Signal is a Windows and macOS desktop app built only for job interviews, from $49 a month: it runs a question guide and a live scorecard during the call and writes a scorecard with the candidate's quotes and a client submittal afterward. Since March 2026 neither one writes into an applicant tracking system. Choose Supernormal for general meeting notes and post-meeting documents; choose Interview Signal if interviews are the core of your job.

We make Interview Signal. Every fact about Supernormal below comes from Supernormal's own site and help center, checked in October 2026 and linked. For Supernormal on its own in an interview, see Supernormal for interviews; for a wider shortlist, see Supernormal alternatives for recruiters.

What changed at Supernormal in 2026?

Anyone comparing the two from an older review should start here, because Supernormal changed a lot. Its help article How and why has Supernormal changed this past year? (April 2026) lists:

  • No more bot or extension. Norma, the Supernormal bot, and the Chrome extension retired on April 2, 2026. Capture is desktop-app only.
  • No more recordings. Video and audio recording retired on March 2, 2026, and Supernormal says there are "currently no plans to reintroduce it in the near future."
  • Fewer integrations. As of March 2 it no longer supports native integrations with ClickUp, HubSpot, GitHub, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Workable, Zapier and Asana.
  • Fewer languages. The desktop app captures meetings in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Swedish and Portuguese.

Pricing moved to credits in April 2026, per the Supernormal 2.0 plans article. The Workable change matters for recruiters in particular: our Workable note-taker guide explains what Workable itself offers.

How does each one capture an interview?

Supernormal's desktop app runs in the background. Its help article on capturing desktop conversations describes three routes: a notification before a calendar meeting, automatic detection with a 15-second countdown before capture starts, and a manual New capture for anything else, including in-person talks. Its home page FAQ says the app "uses system audio" and "Your clients never see a recording notice or bot participant." Supernormal captures meetings from 2 minutes to 4 hours long, per its help center.

Interview Signal also runs on the interviewer's computer and adds nothing to the meeting. It works beside Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and phone screens taken through the computer's audio. You start it for the interview rather than letting it capture every meeting automatically.

One practical difference for Windows desks: Supernormal labels Windows transcripts only as "You" and "Others" for now, while Interview Signal labels the interviewer and the candidate. On a one-to-one screen both amount to two speakers; on a panel call Supernormal's Mac app separates more voices.

Which one handles phone screens?

Both capture a phone screen only when it runs through the computer. Supernormal's help center says the app can capture "Phone calls (when using your computer's audio, not yet supported on mobile)" and recommends a VoIP dialer. Its mobile web capture covers in-person conversations only. Interview Signal works the same way, through the computer's audio, and has no mobile app. See how to record a phone screen for setups.

What do you get from the interview?

Supernormal is built for what happens after a meeting. Its notetaker page says it drafts "slides, images, meeting summaries, spreadsheets, calendar invites, documents, and more" from what was discussed. For a recruiter, that could mean a follow-up email to a candidate or a summary for a hiring manager. We did not find a question guide, an interview scorecard or a candidate submittal described.

Interview Signal is specific to interviews. It builds a question guide from the job description, pins must-ask questions until asked, suggests follow-ups with a reason (probe, clarify or evidence), fills a scorecard as you go and scores on demand with Evaluate, with an optional second model (Dual AI). A private answer check flags answers that read as AI-written or read aloud, without changing a score or reaching the submittal. Afterward, each score carries the candidate's quotes, checked against the transcript, and a client submittal follows your agency's template, with exports to copy, Markdown, Word, a CSV row, email, Slack and next-round questions.

Where Supernormal is ahead: if your week is mostly client meetings and you want decks, briefs and emails drafted from them, its agents do work Interview Signal does not attempt.

Where does the interview data go?

Supernormal's security page says audio is encrypted with TLS 1.2+ in transit, transcribed and summarized in SOC 2 infrastructure, and stored with AES-256 encryption, private to your account until you share it. It lists GDPR, HIPAA with a BAA available, and SOC 2, and says that "on paid plans, your data is excluded from training AI models"; the page does not say the same for the free plan.

Interview Signal keeps transcripts, quotes, candidate names, notes and submittals on the recruiter's computer. Audio goes to a speech-to-text provider in short chunks during the call and is not retained, and our server keeps only counts and durations (security details).

How much does each one cost?

Supernormal's credits article says credits are used for capturing meetings, generating notes and prompting, are shared across a team, and that it does not give "exact breakdowns of what a credit gets you." That makes a per-interview cost impossible to work out from the published pages. Team credits can be raised from 50 up to 500 a month on the pricing page.

SituationSupernormalInterview Signal
Trying it outFree: 15 credits a month, up to 5 a dayFree: 20 minutes, no card
One person, billed yearlyTeam, 50 credits: $18 × 12 = $216Solo: $468
Three peopleUnlimited seats share one credit poolTeam: 3 × $49 × 12 = $1,764 billed yearly
Occasional interviewsFree credits, if they stretch far enoughHour packs: $9 (1), $29 (5), $69 (15), never expiring

Supernormal is the cheaper entry point and charges for a shared credit pool rather than per seat. Interview Signal costs more and prices by time, so you know what a month of interviews costs before it starts.

How do they handle candidate notice?

Supernormal's April 2026 help article says some places require that participants be notified and that "notifying participants is the responsibility of each user." With automatic capture and no bot or notice in the meeting, that means building the notice into your own routine. Interview Signal includes a read-aloud consent line, notice text by jurisdiction and a one-click pause. Our consent script has wording either way. This is general information, not legal advice.

Should you choose Supernormal or Interview Signal?

Choose Supernormal if:

  • Interviews are a small part of a week full of client or team meetings.
  • You want emails, slides and documents drafted from your meetings.
  • You want a low entry price and one credit pool shared across unlimited seats.
  • You are on Windows 11 or an Apple Silicon Mac.

Choose Interview Signal if:

  • You want a question guide, follow-ups and a live scorecard during each interview.
  • You need scores backed by the candidate's quotes, and a client submittal.
  • Your team still runs Windows 10, which Supernormal's app does not support.
  • You can accept no ATS integration, desktop only, no video, and a newer product with few public reviews.

Best for, in one line: Supernormal is best for agencies that want meetings turned into documents; Interview Signal is best for recruiters who want interviews turned into evidence.

What should you test before deciding?

1. Run one mock interview through each on your main platform
and compare Supernormal's notes with Interview Signal's
   scorecard.
2. Check how many Supernormal credits that one interview used.
3. Run one phone screen through your desktop dialer.
4. Check speaker labels on Windows if your team uses it.
5. Decide which output you would send to a client unedited.

Questions people ask

Does Supernormal still join meetings with a bot?

No. Supernormal's help center says its bot, Norma, and its Chrome extension were retired on April 2, 2026, and meetings are now captured only by its Mac and Windows desktop app. Interview Signal also captures on the interviewer's own computer with no bot.

Does Supernormal integrate with Workable or another ATS?

Not any more. Supernormal's help center lists Workable among the native integrations it stopped supporting on March 2, 2026, along with HubSpot, Salesforce, Zapier and others. Its integrations page now names Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Linear, Google Drive and an MCP server, as of October 2026. Interview Signal has no ATS integration either; you paste its output by hand.

Is Supernormal or Interview Signal cheaper?

Supernormal is cheaper to start: its Team plan is $20 a month, or $18 a month billed annually, for 50 shared credits, as of October 2026, but it does not publish how many credits a meeting uses. Interview Signal's Solo plan is $49 a month, and its pay-as-you-go hours start at $9 for one hour and never expire.

Does Supernormal work on Windows 10?

No. Supernormal's notetaker page says the Windows app requires Windows 11 or later and the Mac app requires an Apple Silicon processor and macOS 14.4.1 or later, as of October 2026. Interview Signal runs on Windows 10 or 11 and macOS 13 or newer.
