The main Jamie alternatives for job interviews as of October 2026 are Granola, the closest match in how it works; Notta and Otter for cheaper bot-free transcripts; Fireflies for phone calls captured on the desktop and native ATS sync; MeetGeek for EU hosting plus Greenhouse sync; Metaview for recruiting-specific notes with a botless desktop app; and Interview Signal for phone screens, a question guide during the call and evidence-checked scorecards. All of them can record without a bot. People usually leave Jamie because it cannot record phone calls, names no applicant tracking system, or is built for deal teams rather than interviews.
We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated.
What does Jamie do well for interviews?
Jamie "runs directly on your device and does not require a meeting bot," works across Zoom, Teams and Google Meet (Jamie), and is unusually clear about data: audio goes to a server in Frankfurt and is deleted once the transcript is ready, and transcripts stay in Frankfurt (data handling). Every plan includes an email that tells attendees about Jamie before the meeting (pricing). Our Jamie for interviews review covers the setup; this page is about what to use instead.
Why do interviewers look for a Jamie alternative?
- No phone calls. Jamie's mobile app guide says "Jamie cannot record phone calls."
- No ATS. Integrations cover Notion, Google Docs, OneNote, CRMs such as Salesforce, HubSpot and Attio, plus an API and webhooks on Pro, but no Greenhouse, Lever or Bullhorn.
- Built for deal teams. Its pricing page names investment firms, and integrations such as DealCloud and Affinity point the same way. Nothing describes question guides or scorecards.
- A short free plan. Free stops at 30 minutes per meeting, and Pro is $46 a month billed yearly.
- No audio to replay. That is a privacy benefit and also means a disputed quote can only be checked against the transcript.

Where does each keep the interview data?
If you chose Jamie for its data handling, compare this table before anything else. Where a cell says a region is not named, the vendor's security or privacy page did not name one when we checked.
| Tool | Audio | Transcripts and notes |
|---|---|---|
| Jamie | Deleted once the transcript is ready | Frankfurt; storage and processing within the EEA, Switzerland and the UK |
| Granola | Not stored | US-hosted AWS |
| Fireflies | Not saved when recording without the bot | Region not named; Private Storage on Enterprise |
| MeetGeek | Kept 1 month (Basic) to 12 months (Business) | EU and US hosting |
| Metaview | Audio and video recorded; can be configured off | AWS UK; default retention 2 years |
| Notta | Uploaded for transcription; stays local in Privacy Mode (Pro) | AWS, region not named; local folder in Privacy Mode |
| Otter | Kept for playback | AWS S3, region not named |
| Interview Signal | Sent in short chunks to a speech-to-text provider; not retained | On the recruiter's computer; server keeps only counts and durations |

Each alternative, and who it suits
Granola
Granola "uses your computer audio, so doesn't invite a bot," runs on macOS, Windows, iOS and Android, and works with Zoom, Meet and Teams (Granola). It does not store meeting audio and keeps notes in a US-hosted AWS environment (security). Its iPhone app handles outbound phone calls only. Business is $14 per user per month. Best for: interviewers who type their own notes and are happy with US storage. Our Granola for recruiting review goes further.
Notta
Notta Desktop records system audio and your microphone with no bot, and on Pro its Privacy Mode transcribes offline with a local model. It lists bilingual transcription in 23 languages and allows 5-hour recordings on Pro at $8.17 a month billed yearly (pricing). It names no ATS and has no phone mode beyond imports and its Memo device. Best for: long or bilingual interviews on a budget. Otter vs Notta for interviews compares it with Otter.
Otter
Otter's desktop app records Zoom, Meet, Slack Huddles and in-person conversations without a bot (Otter desktop), and its free plan allows 30 minutes per conversation. Its Recruiting Agent adds interview agendas and a Greenhouse sync through Zapier. Phone calls must be recorded separately and imported. Best for: low-cost transcripts in English and a handful of other languages.
Fireflies
Fireflies' desktop app records system audio without its bot and captures phone calls: iPhone calls on a Mac through FaceTime, and Android or iPhone calls on Windows through Phone Link. In that mode it "does not save audio or video files" (Fireflies help). It connects to seven applicant tracking systems. Best for: recruiters who screen by phone and want notes in Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby.
MeetGeek
MeetGeek's desktop app records "directly from your computer, so nothing joins your call as a participant" (desktop app), its pricing FAQ describes EU and US data hosting, and it syncs to Greenhouse and connects to Aircall and RingCentral. Interview Signal vs MeetGeek compares it with ours. Best for: European in-house teams on Greenhouse.
Metaview
Metaview's desktop app for Mac and Windows records "without a bot joining the call" (desktop), and it hosts data in an AWS UK environment with a default retention of two years (privacy). It writes notes into a long list of ATSs. Pro is $60 per user per month. Best for: recruiting teams that need notes on the ATS record and UK hosting.
Interview Signal
Ours is a Windows and Mac desktop app with no bot, like Jamie, and it does not keep interview audio either. It covers phone screens taken through the computer, shows a question guide from the job description during the call, and writes a scorecard whose quotes are checked against the transcript, plus a client submittal. Transcripts stay on the recruiter's computer. Hour packs start at $9; Solo is $49 a month (pricing). Weaknesses: no ATS integration, no mobile app for in-person meetings, no video recording, few public reviews yet, and phone screens must run through the computer. Interview Signal vs Jamie compares the two directly. Best for: interviewers who want structure and evidence, not just notes.
Switching without losing your notice
Jamie's pre-meeting email is the feature most people forget they relied on. Of the tools above, MeetGeek lists recording consent notifications on its Business plan and Interview Signal gives you a read-aloud consent line and notice text by jurisdiction; with any of them, send your own written notice with the interview invite and say it again at the start. Our consent script has wording for both. This is not legal advice. Then run your next five interviews, including one phone screen, through the new tool before you cancel Jamie, and export any transcripts you must keep.
Questions people ask
What is the closest alternative to Jamie for job interviews?
Granola is the closest in how it works: as of October 2026 it uses your computer's audio so no bot joins, does not store meeting audio, and enhances the notes you type. The main difference for European users is storage, since Granola says notes are kept in a US-hosted AWS environment while Jamie keeps transcripts in Frankfurt.
Which Jamie alternatives keep interview data in Europe?
As of October 2026 MeetGeek says it offers EU and US data hosting, and Metaview says it hosts all data in an AWS UK environment. Interview Signal keeps transcripts on the recruiter's own computer rather than in any cloud. Granola stores notes in the US, and Notta, Otter and Fireflies do not name a storage region on their security pages.
Which Jamie alternative can record phone screens?
Jamie says it cannot record phone calls. As of October 2026 Fireflies' desktop app captures iPhone calls on a Mac and Android or iPhone calls on Windows through Phone Link, MeetGeek connects to Aircall and RingCentral, Metaview uses a phone switchboard, Granola's iPhone app handles outbound calls, and Interview Signal captures calls that run through the computer's audio.
Is there a Jamie alternative that does not keep the interview audio?
Yes. As of October 2026 Granola says it does not store meeting audio, Fireflies says recording without its bot does not save audio or video files, and Interview Signal sends audio to a speech-to-text provider in short chunks during the call without retaining it. Notta's Privacy Mode on Pro transcribes offline so audio never leaves the laptop.
