iCIMS does not have its own notetaker that records and transcribes interviews, as far as we could find on its site in October 2026. Its AI agents summarize what is already in iCIMS, including typed interview feedback, and its built-in video interviewing runs the call but is not described as transcribing it. Third-party notetakers do connect, but the most detailed public documentation we found, Metaview's, says the connection needs paid API access and a Statement of Work with iCIMS before anything works.
That makes iCIMS one of the slower ATSs to add a notetaker to. This page sets out what iCIMS does natively, which tools connect and what we could and could not confirm about each, and what to sort out with your iCIMS admin and account team first. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.
What iCIMS does natively
- Candidate Summary Agent: announced on June 9, 2025, it summarizes resumes, assessments and interview feedback. It works from feedback interviewers have already entered, not from a recording.
- Intelligent Hiring Platform: iCIMS's September 1, 2026 announcement describes a Sourcing Agent available now, a Hiring Agent in Microsoft Teams "this October", and an Interview Scheduling Agent by the end of 2026. None is described as transcribing interviews.
- Talent Bot for Teams: lets interviewers fill in feedback forms from Teams. The forms are still typed by hand.
- Video interviewing: iCIMS's video interviewing page describes live and on-demand video interviews inside the platform. We found no mention of transcription or AI notes.
- AI question generation: iCIMS's generative AI assistant can draft interview questions. That helps before the interview, not during it.
In short, iCIMS will help you summarize feedback once someone has written it. Getting an accurate record of what the candidate said is still a manual job unless you add a tool.
Notetakers that connect to iCIMS
| Tool | Where it is documented | What we could confirm | What we could not |
|---|---|---|---|
| BrightHire | BrightHire integrations page | Lists iCIMS; Recruiters tier captures video, phone or in-person (pricing, quote-only) | Which iCIMS fields or records it writes to |
| Metaview | Metaview help center (beta, via Kombo) | Paid iCIMS API access and a Statement of Work required, 6 to 8 weeks; links to notes, scorecards and auto-scheduling not supported; attachments limited to CV | Whether notes are written into iCIMS at all |
Metaview's own pricing is published: a free tier of 25 calls a month and Pro at $60 a user a month (pricing). That is separate from whatever iCIMS charges for the API access its integration needs.
Several other iCIMS-connected products appear in notetaker searches but run a different kind of interview: HireVue lists iCIMS; Sapia's chat interviewer is on the iCIMS marketplace as an assessment; and VidCruiter, Spark Hire and Jobma are video interviewing tools on the iCIMS marketplace. They replace or add an interview step rather than taking notes on the call you are already running.
The API step: why iCIMS integrations take longer
Metaview's iCIMS page is unusually direct: "Paid API access required," with a Statement of Work signed with iCIMS and a 6 to 8 week timeline. Practically, that means three parties (you, iCIMS and the notetaker vendor) and a procurement step before a recruiter sees a single synced note.
- Ask your iCIMS account team whether your contract already includes API access, and if not, what it costs.
- Ask the notetaker vendor exactly which iCIMS objects it reads and writes, in writing.
- Get your security team's review started in parallel, since it will take as long as the SOW.
If the cost or timeline is not worth it for your volume, a notetaker used without integration, with notes pasted into iCIMS by hand, may be the realistic first step.
Working out the cost, as an example
This is an illustrative example built from published prices as of October 2026, not a quote. A ten-person recruiting team on iCIMS considering Metaview:
Metaview Pro: $60 × 10 users = $600/month
Metaview Free: 25 calls per user per month at $0
iCIMS API access: not published; set by your iCIMS contract and SOW
BrightHire: quote-only
Real comparison = notetaker seats + iCIMS API cost
+ admin and security review time
The line that decides the business case is the one nobody publishes. A team doing a few interviews a week per recruiter may find the free tier plus manual copy into iCIMS cheaper than funding API access; a team running dozens of screens a day probably will not. Get the iCIMS number before comparing notetaker seat prices, because it can be larger than the seats.
A realistic rollout sequence
- Weeks 1 to 2: pilot the notetaker without integration on a handful of interviews, pasting notes into iCIMS by hand. This tells you whether the notes are good enough before you pay for the connection.
- In parallel: open the API and SOW conversation with iCIMS and the security review internally.
- Weeks 6 to 8: if the pilot notes were useful, switch on the integration in a test environment and run the checks below.
- After go-live: review a sample of synced notes each month for accuracy and for anything that should not be in a candidate record.
The phone-screen gap
Nothing native in iCIMS records a phone screen. Of the integrated tools, BrightHire's pricing page names phone capture on its Recruiters tier. Metaview captures phone calls through its own phone numbers, which changes how a recruiter dials. For high-volume roles screened by phone, confirm the phone path works with the iCIMS connection before rollout, not just the video path. Our guide to recording a phone screen covers the general options.
What to test before rollout
| Check | Pass looks like | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Where notes land | You can open a test candidate in iCIMS and find the note without leaving iCIMS | |
| Record matching | Notes attach to the right person and requisition, not a new profile | |
| Feedback forms | Interviewers know whether to still complete the iCIMS feedback form, and do | |
| Candidate Summary Agent | Summaries improve when feedback is fuller, and do not quote anything unverified | |
| Phone path | A phone screen is captured or a manual fallback is agreed | |
| Deletion | A candidate's recording and transcript can be deleted on request in both systems |
The Candidate Summary Agent check matters on iCIMS specifically. It summarizes interview feedback, so the quality of what interviewers write directly shapes what the agent tells the next reviewer.

Short quotes tied to named criteria give any downstream summary something concrete to work with. Our interview scorecard template has more on criteria and anchors.
Consent and governance
- Say it out loud: a phone capture is invisible to the candidate; use one spoken line for every interview. Our consent script has wording.
- Data flows: an integration built through a unified API provider such as Kombo adds a party to the data flow. Ask for the subprocessor list.
- Retention: set how long recordings live in the notetaker, separately from iCIMS retention.
Standalone tools, and who each option suits
Interview Signal has no iCIMS integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the interviewer's computer, keeps transcripts local, and produces a scorecard quoting the candidate that you paste into the iCIMS feedback form or attach to the profile. If automatic write-back into iCIMS is a requirement, plan for the API step with an integrated vendor instead.
- BrightHire: enterprise teams that want phone and video capture and will run a pilot to confirm what syncs.
- Metaview: teams willing to fund iCIMS API access and wait out a beta integration.
- iCIMS native agents: teams whose interviewers already write good feedback and mainly want it summarized.
- A standalone tool: recruiters who need better notes now, without a procurement cycle.
Questions people ask
Does iCIMS have a built-in AI notetaker?
Not as of October 2026, as far as we could find on iCIMS's own site. Its Candidate Summary Agent summarizes resumes, assessments and interview feedback, and its Intelligent Hiring Platform announcement covers sourcing, hiring and scheduling agents, but none of them is described as recording or transcribing a live interview.
Does iCIMS video interviewing transcribe interviews?
iCIMS's video interviewing page describes live and on-demand video interviews built into the platform, but we found no description of transcription or AI notes from those interviews. Check with iCIMS before assuming the video tool doubles as a notetaker.
Does Metaview integrate with iCIMS?
Metaview's help center lists an iCIMS integration in beta, built through Kombo. It says paid API access and a Statement of Work with iCIMS are required, with a 6 to 8 week timeline, and that links to notes, scorecards and auto-scheduling are not supported. We could not confirm from that page whether notes are written into iCIMS.
Can any iCIMS-connected notetaker capture phone screens?
BrightHire lists iCIMS among its integrations, and its pricing page says its Recruiters tier captures video, phone or in-person interviews. We could not confirm from public pages exactly what BrightHire syncs into iCIMS, so test that in a pilot.
