JazzHR does not have its own notetaker for live interviews, as far as we could find on its site and help center in October 2026. What it does have is AI Screening by VONQ, a paid add-on where an AI runs a chat and audio screening interview and leaves a transcript in the candidate's documents. For notes on interviews your own team conducts, the documented route is Metaview, which describes a JazzHR integration on its help center. JazzHR's marketplace adds several video and AI screening tools, which are a different kind of product.
JazzHR is mostly used by small and mid-sized businesses, often with hiring managers doing their own interviews. This page is written for that reality: what is available, what it costs next to a JazzHR plan, and when a simple routine beats adding software. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.
What JazzHR does natively
- No live notetaker: we found no JazzHR feature that records or transcribes an interview your team runs on Zoom, Teams, Meet or the phone.
- AI Screening by VONQ: JazzHR's help article describes a paid add-on, $80 per job for 30 days, in which candidates complete a chat and audio interview. A dossier with the transcript lands in the candidate's Documents. It replaces part of a first screen; it does not record yours.
- Plans: JazzHR's pricing page lists Hero at $1,000 a year, Plus at $3,480 and Pro at $5,508, as of October 2026.
- The Employ connection: JazzHR shares a parent company, Employ, with Lever. Employ sells AI Interview Companion, built from its Pillar acquisition. We found no JazzHR page confirming it is offered to JazzHR customers. Our Lever notetaker guide covers how it works there.
Notetakers and screening tools that connect to JazzHR
| Tool | What it is | Documented by | What reaches JazzHR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metaview | Notetaker for live interviews | Metaview help center (via Kombo) | Notes posted back to the candidate record; no auto-scheduling from JazzHR |
| Classet | AI phone screener | JazzHR marketplace | AI-run phone screens with transcripts |
| Truffle | Candidate screening tool | Truffle integration page | Score and summary written to JazzHR |
| Hireflix, Jobma, Ducknowl, Wedge | Video interviewing | JazzHR marketplace | See each listing |
Metaview's published pricing is a free tier of 25 calls a month and Pro at $60 a user a month (pricing). We did not find BrightHire, Noota, Carv, Tactiq, Fireflies or Otter documenting a JazzHR integration.
Notetaker or screener: know which you are buying
Most of the AI tools around JazzHR are screeners. They interview the candidate for you, asynchronously or by an AI voice, and hand back a transcript or score. A notetaker does something different: it sits in an interview a person runs and records what was said. Small teams sometimes buy one expecting the other.
| Your problem | Kind of tool | Examples above |
|---|---|---|
| Too many applicants to phone-screen | Screener | AI Screening by VONQ, Classet, Truffle, video interview tools |
| Hiring managers forget what candidates said | Notetaker | Metaview, or a standalone tool |
| Inconsistent feedback across interviewers | Neither on its own; a scorecard and a note routine | See the format below |
Living without auto-scheduling
Metaview's JazzHR page says automatic scheduling from JazzHR is not supported. In practice that means the notetaker does not learn about an interview because it was booked in JazzHR; it has to find out some other way, usually from the interviewer's connected calendar. For a small team that is manageable, but it needs a habit:
- Every interviewer connects their work calendar to the notetaker before their first interview, not on the morning of it.
- Every interview gets a calendar event with a video link, even when it was arranged by email or text, so there is something for the notetaker to join.
- One person checks weekly that the number of interviews with notes in JazzHR matches the number of interviews held. Gaps usually mean a missing calendar event.
Questions to ask JazzHR before you buy anything
- Is Employ's AI Interview Companion available to JazzHR customers now, or planned? If it is, a native-family tool might suit you better than a third party.
- Where exactly do partner notes appear in JazzHR, and can access be limited to the hiring team for that job?
- Does the AI Screening by VONQ transcript stay in JazzHR if the add-on period ends?
The phone-screen gap
Small businesses screen by phone more than most. Nothing native in JazzHR records a phone call your team makes. Classet runs phone screens with an AI rather than recording yours. Metaview captures phone calls through its own phone numbers, so a manager would call through Metaview rather than from their mobile. Our guide to recording a phone screen covers simpler options.
Cost next to a JazzHR plan, as an example
An illustrative example built from published prices as of October 2026, not a quote. A business on JazzHR Plus with three managers who interview:
JazzHR Plus: $3,480/year (about $290/month)
AI Screening by VONQ: $80 per job for 30 days
4 jobs a year = $320/year
Metaview for 3 interviewers:
Free tier: $0 (25 calls per user per month)
Pro: $60 × 3 × 12 = $2,160/year
For a team doing a handful of interviews a month, the free tier or a disciplined note routine may cover it. Paid seats make sense when interview volume is high enough that notes are routinely lost or late.
What to test before rollout
| Check | Pass looks like | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Notes land in JazzHR | A test candidate's notes appear on the right record | |
| Capture without auto-scheduling | Interviews are captured through the calendar even though JazzHR does not push them | |
| Hiring manager setup | Each manager's calendar and account are connected before their first interview | |
| Accuracy | Quotes in the summary match the recording | |
| Screener transcripts | AI screening dossiers are readable and stored where your team will look | |
| Deletion | A candidate's recording can be deleted on request |
A note routine that works without any tool
Many JazzHR customers will get more from a consistent routine than from a new subscription. Agree this format with every interviewer and paste it into the candidate's notes within the hour.

Writing quotes down during the call is hard for a manager who is also running it. Our guide to taking interview notes as a hiring manager has practical shortcuts, and our structured interview guide covers the scorecard side.
Consent
- Tell candidates every time if anything records, including an AI screener. Our consent script has wording.
- Check your state: some states require every party's consent to record a call; see our guide to two-party consent states.
- AI screening disclosure: some states and cities have rules about AI used in hiring decisions. Check before turning a screener on.
Standalone tools, and who each option suits
Interview Signal has no JazzHR integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the interviewer's own computer, including phone screens, keeps transcripts local, and produces a scorecard quoting the candidate that you paste into JazzHR. If you want notes posted automatically, Metaview is the documented option.
- Metaview: teams that want notes posted to JazzHR and can start on the free tier.
- AI Screening by VONQ or Classet: high-applicant roles where the bottleneck is screening volume, not note-taking.
- A note routine: small teams with low interview volume.
- A standalone tool: managers who screen by phone or prefer no bot in the call.
Questions people ask
Does JazzHR have a built-in AI notetaker?
No live-interview notetaker as of October 2026, as far as we found on JazzHR's site and help center. Its AI Screening by VONQ add-on runs a chat and audio screening interview with the candidate and saves a dossier with a transcript to the candidate's Documents, but it does not take notes on interviews your team runs.
Is Employ's AI Interview Companion available for JazzHR?
We could not confirm it. JazzHR and Lever are both owned by Employ, and Employ sells AI Interview Companion, built from its Pillar acquisition. As of October 2026 we found no JazzHR page saying it is available to JazzHR customers, so ask JazzHR directly.
Does Metaview work with JazzHR?
Metaview's help center documents a JazzHR integration built through Kombo that posts notes back to the candidate record. It does not support automatic scheduling from JazzHR, so interviews need to be added to Metaview's capture another way, such as through your calendar.
How much does JazzHR's AI Screening by VONQ cost?
JazzHR's help center lists it at $80 per job for 30 days, as of October 2026. That is separate from JazzHR's plans, which its pricing page lists at $1,000, $3,480 and $5,508 a year for Hero, Plus and Pro.
