AI notetaker for Loxo: the native agent, Metaview, and the phone-call gap

Loxo has its own AI Notetaker Agent built into the Talent Intelligence Platform, included on the Professional plan at $199 a user a month billed annually, according to Loxo's own pricing page as of September 2026. It joins Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls, syncs the transcript and summary to the candidate's profile, and takes up to two hours to process. Loxo also still runs a separate partnership with Metaview, and neither covers phone calls, which is where a third integration or a standalone tool comes in.

This page is narrower than a general buyer's guide: only what works with Loxo, how the native agent compares with the Metaview option, what fills the phone-call gap, and what to check with your Loxo admin before a recruiter relies on any of it for a live candidate. Loxo's own AI Notetaker Agent

• What it is: a notetaker built natively into Loxo, described on Loxo's AI Notetaker product page and its help center article, as of September 2026.
• Capture: joins Zoom, Google Meet or Teams calls as a participant labeled "Loxo AI Notetaker" once your calendar is synced. Admins can set whether it joins by default, and a user can opt a specific meeting out.
• Output: a recording, transcript, AI summary broken into sections, and shareable video snippets, all synced to the person's profile automatically.
• Editing: Loxo describes a Review and Edit Mode that lets a recruiter rewrite or add to the draft summary before it goes to a hiring manager.
• Processing time: Loxo's help article says to allow up to two hours after the call for the transcript and summary to render, with larger files taking longer.
• Pricing: included on the Professional plan at $199 per user per month billed annually, per Loxo's pricing page. The Core plan at $149 does not list it. Enterprise is custom.

Suits you if most of your calls are scheduled video interviews and you are already on or considering Loxo Professional. Think harder if your desk works mostly by phone, or you need the note within minutes rather than up to two hours.

Where the native notetaker stops

• No phone capture. Only Zoom, Google Meet and Teams are named. A call made from a mobile phone or a softphone that is not one of those three is not covered.
• A visible participant. The notetaker joins as "Loxo AI Notetaker" in the call, which a client running the interview may notice and may or may not welcome.
• Processing lag. Up to two hours before the note is ready is a real constraint for a desk that wants a submittal out within the hour of a screen.
• Plan gate. It sits on Professional, not Core, so a firm on the entry plan needs to upgrade to use it at all.

Loxo's Metaview partnership: a second native option

Loxo announced a partnership with Metaview before its own AI Notetaker Agent existed, and as of September 2026 both are documented as live. Loxo's own product update and Metaview's Loxo integration page describe notes pushed straight into Loxo, with navigation that jumps between a Metaview conversation and the person's Loxo profile. Metaview's integration documentation and FAQ describe it joining video calls as a participant and capturing phone calls through its own switchboard number, which is a real difference from Loxo's native tool. Metaview's pricing page lists a free tier of 25 calls a month and a Pro tier at $60 a user a month, separate from what you pay Loxo.

Running both at once is unlikely to be useful. Pick one as your primary Loxo notetaker and treat the other as a fallback, or as the option for the calls the primary one cannot capture.

The phone-call gap: RecView and other partners

Neither Loxo's native agent nor its Metaview partnership captures a call made on a recruiter's mobile phone. RecView's Loxo integration page describes recording native iPhone and Android calls plus phone-system recordings from providers such as Aircall, RingCentral and Dialpad, transcribing them and posting summaries to the Loxo candidate profile, positioned specifically as covering calls "that happen everywhere else" from Loxo's browser-based notetaker. Its FAQ states that Loxo API access, required for the integration, is included on Loxo's higher-tier plans.

What to test before turning it on for your desk

Working out the real cost per recruiter

Treat this as a worked example built from each vendor's own published prices, as of September 2026, not a quote for your desk. A six-recruiter agency moving from Loxo Core to Professional to get the native AI Notetaker Agent:

Loxo Core (6 seats): $149 × 6 = $894/month
Loxo Professional (6 seats): $199 × 6 = $1,194/month
  Extra cost of the plan that includes the native AI Notetaker Agent: $300/month

Compare with staying on Core and adding Metaview instead:
Metaview Pro (6 seats): $60 × 6 = $360/month
  Free tier covers up to 25 calls/user/month at no cost

Compare with adding RecView for phone coverage on top of either:
RecView: priced on RecView's own site; Loxo API access
  is included from Professional, so a Core-only desk would
  need to upgrade regardless of which phone-capture partner it picks

The Professional upgrade buys more than the notetaker, including Loxo Source and agentic features, so the $300 a month difference is not a fair one-to-one comparison with Metaview's $360. Price out what your desk would actually use on Professional before treating the notetaker as the only reason to upgrade.

A submittal-ready note format for Loxo profiles

Whichever tool writes the summary, edit it into a consistent shape before a hiring manager sees it. This works whether you are cleaning up an AI draft in Review and Edit Mode or writing by hand for a call none of the tools captured.

The "call type" line matters on Loxo specifically, since it tells the next person whether the note came from the native notetaker, Metaview, a phone-capture partner, or was typed by hand, which explains why formatting or detail might differ between two notes on the same profile.

Consent before the first candidate call

• Match the notice to the capture method. A bot joining as "Loxo AI Notetaker" is visible on its own; a phone-capture tool or a desktop app is not, so tell the candidate yourself at the start of the call.
• Use one spoken line regardless of tool. Our consent script and guide to calls across state lines cover the stricter all-party rule.
• Ask before a client-hosted round. A visible bot joining a client's interview is the client's decision, not just yours.
• Set a retention rule for recordings specifically. A video recording is more sensitive than a text transcript; decide separately how long each stays attached to a profile.

Standalone tools, and who each option suits

Interview Signal has no Loxo integration. It is a desktop app with no bot, so it captures phone and video screens the same way, on your own computer, and produces a scorecard with quotes checked against the transcript that you paste into the Loxo profile. If automatic write-back to Loxo is a requirement, use the native AI Notetaker Agent, Metaview, or RecView instead.

• Loxo AI Notetaker Agent: firms on Professional who want one vendor and mostly scheduled video interviews.
• Metaview: firms that want a free tier to trial, or phone capture through a switchboard number rather than a mobile-call recorder.
• RecView: phone-heavy desks that need calls captured from the recruiter's own mobile phone or a calling platform, without a bot joining anything.
• A standalone tool: solo recruiters, firms on Loxo Core who have not upgraded, and anyone who wants the note ready in minutes rather than up to two hours.
