Paycor Recruiting has two video features that sound like they might give you interview notes, and neither does. The Zoom connection adds a meeting link when you schedule. Spark Hire runs one-way video interviews that candidates record on their own. Paycor's own scorecards are where interview feedback lives, and as of October 2026 nothing native records, transcribes or summarizes a live interview into them.

Paycor is now part of Paychex, which completed the acquisition on April 14, 2025, according to the Paychex announcement. The recruiting product is still documented under the Paycor name. This page covers what Paycor does natively, the outside tools that describe a Paycor connection, and how to get notes into Paycor scorecards without one. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.

What Paycor Recruiting does natively

From Paycor's recruiting software page, as of October 2026:

  • Interview scorecards: evaluate candidates consistently, track their performance and compare qualifications.
  • Interview scheduling and custom hiring workflows.
  • AI features: AI-generated job descriptions, Paycor Smart Sourcing for searching candidate profiles, and Paycor Assistant, an AI HR assistant for employees.
  • Candidate texting and automated offer letters.
  • Video interviewing through Spark Hire and Zoom.

The scorecard is the important piece. Whatever tool captures the conversation, the evidence should end up in the Paycor scorecard, because that is what hiring managers compare candidates on.

What the Zoom and Spark Hire connections actually do

Zoom: a meeting link, not a recording

Paycor's Zoom article says you can add a Zoom meeting when you schedule recruiter screens, phone screens and interviews. The Zoom details are included in invite emails, and interviewers and candidates get the same link. It describes scheduling and links only, not recordings, transcripts or notes flowing back into Paycor.

So if your company's Zoom account produces recordings or AI meeting summaries, those stay in Zoom. Someone still has to move the useful parts into the Paycor scorecard, and the candidate should be told the call is recorded.

Spark Hire: one-way video

Paycor's Spark Hire guide describes inviting candidates to complete one-way video interviews from Paycor Recruiting and watching or sharing them from Paycor. Candidates answer set questions on their own time. That is a screening step with no live conversation, so there is nothing for a notetaker to capture.

Outside tools that describe a Paycor connection

ToolWhat it says, as of October 2026Our read
Classet (Joy)AI voice screening; summaries, knockout results, recordings and transcripts sync to Paycor candidate records; ATS Sync from $1,995/monthDocumented by Classet; an AI interviewer, not a notetaker
MetaviewRecords, transcribes and summarizes calls scheduled through PaycorListed on Metaview's site, not in its help center; unconfirmed
BrightHirePaycor not on its integrations pageNot found
FirefliesPaycor not on its integrations pageNot found

Classet's Paycor page describes Joy calling applicants, running a structured voice interview, checking knockout criteria such as certifications or availability, and syncing the results to Paycor, including creating candidate records for new applicants. Because it conducts the screen itself and flags candidates who fail criteria, treat it as an automated screening tool and review state AI hiring rules first; our AI hiring laws by state overview is a starting point. This is not legal advice.

Metaview's Paycor page is short and general. Its help center, which has detailed setup guides for other ATSs, has none for Paycor. Ask Metaview how it authenticates, which interviews it sees, and whether anything is written back to Paycor before you plan around it. Metaview publishes a free tier of 25 calls a month and Pro at $60 a user a month (pricing), as of October 2026, so a trial costs little either way.

Getting notes into Paycor scorecards without an integration

For most Paycor customers the workable route is a notetaker that is not tied to Paycor, plus a short paste into the scorecard. It works for Zoom, Teams, Meet and phone calls alike, and the interviewer stays in control of what is saved. The trick is to make the notetaker's summary match the scorecard, so pasting is quick.

  1. Copy the scorecard's criteria for the role into the notetaker's summary template, in the same order.
  2. Ask for evidence, not verdicts: one or two quotes per criterion.
  3. Score in Paycor yourself. Never paste a rating from a summary.
  4. Delete the rest. Leave the full transcript in the notetaker under your retention rule, not in Paycor.

Phone screens

Paycor's Zoom article lists phone screens among the interview types you can attach a Zoom link to, which is one way to bring phone screens onto a platform a notetaker can join. If candidates prefer an actual phone call, use a notetaker with phone capture, a phone system that records, or a desktop tool on the recruiter's computer. Our guide to recording a phone screen compares them, and our consent script gives the opening line. Whichever you choose, log the screen in Paycor the same day, even if the note is two lines, so the pipeline shows who was spoken to.

If your interviews are already recorded in Zoom

Because Paycor's Zoom option creates ordinary Zoom meetings, some teams find interviews are already being recorded or summarized by settings in their company Zoom account, without anyone in recruiting deciding that. Before adding any notetaker, check with whoever administers Zoom:

  • Is cloud recording or an AI meeting summary switched on by default for the accounts recruiters and hiring managers use?
  • Who can see those recordings, and are they kept under the company's general meeting retention rather than your candidate retention?
  • Do candidates get a recording notice from Zoom, and does it match what your privacy notice says?

If the answers are unclear, you may already have candidate recordings sitting outside your recruiting records. Fix that first, then decide whether a dedicated notetaker is worth adding.

Questions to put to your Paycor representative

  1. Is live-interview recording or AI interview notes on the Paycor Recruiting roadmap, and has the Paychex acquisition changed that roadmap?
  2. Does Paycor's marketplace list any interview notetaker partners we have not found?
  3. Can scorecard criteria be exported or copied, so a notetaker template can match them exactly?
  4. Can documents or notes be added to a candidate record through an API, and with what permissions?

Ask in writing and file the answers. If a native feature is months away, a low-cost pilot of the paste approach is still worth running, because the scorecard template work carries over.

A two-week pilot

  1. Pick one requisition with recruiter screens and hiring manager interviews in the next two weeks.
  2. Build the summary template from that job's Paycor scorecard.
  3. Use Zoom links from Paycor for video interviews so scheduling stays in Paycor.
  4. Time the paste for each interview. Aim for under two minutes.
  5. Ask the hiring manager whether the scorecards were more useful than before. That answer decides rollout.

What to check before rollout

CheckPass looks likeResult
Integration claimAny vendor claiming a Paycor connection shows where output lands in a live account
Template matchSummary headings line up with scorecard criteria
Scores entered by peopleNo rating is copied from an AI summary
Recording noticeCandidates are told when a Zoom or phone interview is recorded
RetentionRecordings outside Paycor follow your candidate retention schedule

Standalone tools, and who each option suits

Interview Signal has no Paycor integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the interviewer's computer, including phone screens, and exports a scorecard quoting the candidate that you paste into the Paycor scorecard.

  • A standalone notetaker plus a templated paste: most Paycor teams.
  • Classet: high-volume hourly hiring that wants AI to run first screens, after legal review.
  • Metaview: teams willing to confirm the Paycor connection and pilot it.
  • Spark Hire: asynchronous screening before any live interview, not notes on one.

Questions people ask

Does Paycor have a built-in AI notetaker?

Not that we could find as of October 2026. Paycor's recruiting page lists interview scorecards, interview scheduling, AI-generated job descriptions, Smart Sourcing, candidate texting and video interviewing through Spark Hire and Zoom, but not recording or summarizing a live interview.

Does Paycor's Zoom integration record interviews into Paycor?

No, as far as Paycor's own article describes it. Paycor's knowledge base says you can add a Zoom meeting when scheduling recruiter screens, phone screens and interviews, and the Zoom details go into the invite emails. It does not describe recordings, transcripts or notes coming back into Paycor.

Is Paycor owned by Paychex?

Yes. Paychex announced that it completed its acquisition of Paycor HCM on April 14, 2025. Paycor Recruiting is still documented under the Paycor name on Paycor's website and knowledge base as of October 2026.

Does Metaview integrate with Paycor?

Metaview's website has a Paycor integration page saying it records, transcribes and summarizes calls scheduled through Paycor. Paycor is not in Metaview's help center list of ATS setup guides as of October 2026, so confirm how it connects and what it writes back before relying on it.
