Phenom has its own AI notetaker, Phenom Interview Intelligence, so most Phenom customers are choosing between it and an outside tool rather than looking for an integration. As of October 2026 Phenom says an AI assistant joins the interview with consent, records and transcribes it, and drafts a role-aligned summary and scorecard that the interviewer reviews. Among outside note takers, Employ's AI Interview Companion lists Phenom as an integration and Metaview's directory lists Phenom; Phenom's own partner marketplace lists none.
This page sets out what Phenom sells, what Interview Intelligence does and how it captures calls, which outside tools list Phenom, the biometric and AI questions its fraud checks raise, and what to test. Facts link to the pages we read, dated October 2026. For how interview intelligence platforms compare in general, see our interview intelligence software guide.
What does Phenom sell, and who is it for?
Phenom sells an AI talent platform to large employers; its pricing page is a request form that says 500+ leading global brands use it, with no prices published. Its product list includes career sites, a talent CRM, sourcing, scheduling, onboarding and internal mobility. For hiring it includes:
- Phenom Hire: runs hiring from requisition to offer, aimed at multi-location retail, hospitality, healthcare and franchise operators.
- Interview Intelligence: records, transcribes and summarizes interviews (below).
- Voice Screening Agent: an AI phone screen that reaches candidates soon after they apply and returns a scored, timestamped evaluation.
- AI Interviewer, Automated Interview Scheduling and the Fraud Detection Agent.
Phenom's marketplace also lists HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, ADP and UKG as partners. If your interview scorecards live in one of those systems rather than in Phenom, notes should land where the scorecard is; our SAP SuccessFactors and UKG guides cover those.
What does Phenom Interview Intelligence do?
From the Interview Intelligence product page and the interview intelligence use-case page, as of October 2026:
- Structured guides: a competency guide per role and an AI-built question library, generated from Phenom's ontology and the job description.
- Capture: an AI assistant joins the conversation with consent, records and transcribes it, and produces highlights and a structured summary aligned to the role.
- Drafts, not decisions: Phenom says every summary stays a draft that the interviewer reviews and owns before it is finalized.
- Risk flags: potentially biased or noncompliant moments are flagged when the interview is analyzed, with a dashboard showing where interviewer coaching is needed.
- Into the record: Phenom says it connects to HR systems and video conferencing tools so a recorded interview and its scorecard land on the same candidate record automatically.
- Consent and opt-out: consent is captured before an interview records, and every participant is told upfront and can opt out at any time.
- Security claims: SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA compliance, ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701, and AES-256 encryption.
How does it join the call?
Phenom's public help center has articles from 2023 on a Phenom Interview Assistant app for Zoom, installed from the Zoom App Marketplace, that shows the candidate's profile during the call and lets interviewers highlight moments with thumbs up or down, pin parts of the interview and add comments that are saved with the transcript. The admin setup article says the installer must be both a Phenom administrator and a Zoom account admin, and that recording and storing meetings requires a Zoom Business or Enterprise account. We found no public article on Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, phone or in-person capture, so ask Phenom which of your interview types are covered today.
Which outside note takers list Phenom?
| Where we looked | What it shows, as of October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Phenom's partner marketplace (all listings) | Background screening, assessments, recruitment marketing, HR systems and services partners. No AI note taker; the nearest are a voice-apply tool and a coding assessment. |
| Employ's AI Interview Companion integrations | Phenom is listed among the ATSs it shares interview insights with; it joins Zoom, Google Meet and Teams interviews. |
| Metaview's Phenom page | Says it records, transcribes and summarizes calls scheduled through Phenom. Its help center has no Phenom setup guide. |
| BrightHire, Fireflies | Phenom not listed on their integration pages. |
Employ describes AI Interview Companion, formerly Pillar, as assisting with transcription and summarization without scoring candidates or making hiring recommendations (product page); our Pillar for recruiting review covers it in more depth. Neither listing says where in Phenom the notes appear, so ask for a test.
How do notes get into Phenom without an integration?
Phenom's recruiter documentation is not public; its open help center is mostly candidate-facing. So the practical route is set by your configuration: ask your Phenom admin where interviewers record feedback (Phenom's own scorecard, or the scorecard in the HR system Phenom connects to), whether there is a length limit, and whether files can be attached. Then paste two or three quotes per competency, enter ratings yourself, and keep the transcript wherever your retention rule allows. Our guide to AI notes without an ATS integration covers the routine.
How do the realistic options compare?
We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated. As of October 2026; "not stated" means the pages we read do not say.
| Option | How it captures the call | Bot or no bot | Phone screens | Phenom link | Published price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phenom Interview Intelligence | AI assistant joins the interview; Zoom app documented | Joins the call as an assistant | Human phone screens not stated; Voice Screening Agent is AI-led | Native, summary and scorecard on the record | Not published | Phenom customers wanting structured guides, summaries and fraud checks in one platform |
| AI Interview Companion (Employ) | Joins Zoom, Google Meet and Teams interviews | Joins the call | Not stated | Phenom listed as an integration | Not published | Teams that want transcription and summaries without AI scoring |
| Metaview | Notetaker joins video calls, or a Mac and Windows desktop app | Bot, or no bot with the desktop app | Yes, through its phone feature (guide) | Listed in its directory; no setup guide | Free 25 calls a month; Pro $60 per user a month (pricing) | Recruiting teams that want a dedicated note taker and will confirm the sync |
| Interview Signal | Desktop app on the interviewer's Windows or Mac computer | No bot | Yes, when the call runs through the computer | None; you paste | Free 20 minutes; 5 hours $29; Solo $49 a month | Individual interviewers who want no bot and transcripts on their own computer |
Interview Signal has no Phenom integration: you copy or export the scorecard and paste it in, and its ready-made note formats are for Bullhorn, Greenhouse, Lever and JobAdder only. It is desktop only, does not record video, is a newer product with few public reviews, and phone screens must run through the computer.
What should you check for privacy, consent and AI rules?
- Biometrics. Phenom's Fraud Detection Agent page says it compares facial geometry and voice characteristics across interview rounds to produce an Identity Match Score. Read our pages on BIPA and hiring tools and Maryland's facial recognition rule before enabling it.
- AI analysis of video. If AI evaluates recorded video interviews of Illinois applicants, see the Illinois AI Video Interview Act; for scored screening in New York City, see Local Law 144.
- Opt-outs that work. Phenom says participants can opt out at any time. Test what happens to an interview when a candidate declines, and make sure the interviewer still has a guide to type notes into.
- Spoken notice. Our consent script gives an opening line that works with any recorder.
This is not legal advice.
What should you test before rollout?
| Check | Pass looks like | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage | Your Zoom, Teams and Meet interviews are captured; phone and on-site rounds have a plan | |
| Consent | Consent is recorded before capture starts, and a decline stops recording | |
| Drafts | Interviewers edit summaries and enter ratings; nothing is final until they submit | |
| Record placement | Summary and scorecard appear on the candidate record your hiring managers use | |
| Fraud flags | Flags are reviewed by a person and never reject a candidate on their own | |
| Deletion | Recordings, transcripts and any identity data can be deleted on request |

Who should pick which option?
- Phenom Interview Intelligence: best for Phenom customers who want guides, recording, summaries and fraud checks in the platform they already run, after the biometric questions are answered.
- AI Interview Companion: best for teams that want transcription and summaries connected to Phenom without AI scoring.
- Metaview: best for recruiters who want a free tier, phone capture and a desktop option, and will verify the Phenom sync.
- Interview Signal: best for individual interviewers who want no bot, quote-backed scorecards and transcripts kept on their own computer; see the in-house note taker guide for more options.
Questions people ask
Does Phenom have its own AI notetaker?
Yes. As of October 2026 Phenom Interview Intelligence uses an AI assistant that joins the interview with consent, records and transcribes it, and drafts a structured summary aligned to the role, which the interviewer reviews and owns before it is final. It also flags potentially biased or noncompliant moments, and Phenom's Fraud Detection Agent, built into Interview Intelligence, flags identity mismatches and AI-generated answers.
Does Phenom Interview Intelligence work with Zoom?
Phenom's help center describes a Phenom Interview Assistant app for Zoom, installed from the Zoom App Marketplace. Recording and storing meetings needs a Zoom Business or Enterprise account, and the admin app must be installed by someone who is both a Phenom administrator and a Zoom account admin. Those articles date from 2023, so confirm current setup, and support for Teams and Google Meet, with Phenom.
Which other AI note takers integrate with Phenom?
Employ's AI Interview Companion lists Phenom among its ATS integrations, and Metaview's integrations directory lists Phenom with automated capture of calls scheduled through Phenom, although Metaview's help center had no Phenom setup guide in October 2026. Phenom's own partner marketplace lists no AI note taker.
Is Phenom's interview recording a biometric concern?
It can be. Phenom says its Fraud Detection Agent compares facial geometry and voice characteristics across interview rounds to produce an Identity Match Score. Laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act and Maryland's facial recognition rule for interviews can apply to that kind of analysis, so ask Phenom how it works and get legal advice before switching it on.
