UKG has put its AI to work before the interview, not during it. As of October 2026 UKG's documentation describes Bryte AI in UKG Pro Recruiting drafting job descriptions and interview questions inside the Opportunity wizard. It does not describe recording, transcribing or summarizing the interview itself. For AI notes on UKG candidates, you are choosing an integration, and three document a UKG connection: Metaview, Employ's AI Interview Companion and VidCruiter.
One distinction runs through all of this: UKG Pro and UKG Ready are different products. Most notetaker documentation names UKG Pro. This page covers what Bryte AI does, the integrations and which UKG product each names, where notes land, and what to test. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.
What Bryte AI does in UKG Pro Recruiting
- Job descriptions and interview questions: UKG's Bryte AI activation article says Bryte AI helps recruiters, and hiring managers if applicable, write job descriptions and interview questions. Each feature can be used independently.
- Purchase and activation: the same article says your organization must purchase the Bryte AI suite and a Recruiting administrator must activate it.
- Interview Questions tab: turning on the interview questions option adds a tab to the Opportunity wizard. UKG's interview questions article describes drafting questions from the opportunity's detailed description, and notes it is unavailable for opportunities pending approval or closed.
That makes Bryte AI useful upstream: better questions mean better interviews to take notes on. A notetaker downstream can then check whether the questions were actually asked.
Integrations, compared
As documented on each vendor's site, as of October 2026.
| Tool | UKG product named | Capture | What reaches UKG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metaview | UKG Pro (help center) | Joins video calls; phone through its own calling | Notes posted with one click; links to Metaview notes added automatically |
| AI Interview Companion (Employ) | "UKG" logo on its integrations page | Records, transcribes and highlights virtual interviews | "Interview insights"; format not detailed |
| VidCruiter | UKG Pro Recruiting and UKG Ready (integration page) | Structured digital interviews on VidCruiter | Interview data within UKG workflows; activated by your VidCruiter account manager |
We did not find BrightHire, Fireflies or Noota listing UKG on the integration pages we checked.
Metaview on UKG Pro in detail
- Connection: start from Metaview's settings and log in to UKG Pro through a connection wizard. Setup can take up to 48 hours.
- Kombo: the connection is authorized through Kombo, which Metaview names as a subprocessor.
- Permissions: jobs, candidates, applications, stages, users and rejection reasons are required. Adding notes and links to an application are optional, so make sure they are granted if you want notes in UKG.
- No scheduling from UKG: Metaview says tags and interviews are not available through the UKG Pro API. It matches calls booked through your calendar to candidates, and lists the wrong meeting type and duplicate candidates as common reasons matching fails.
- Pricing: Metaview's pricing page lists a free tier of 25 calls a month and Pro at $60 a user a month.
Employ's AI Interview Companion with UKG
AI Interview Companion is the product Employ built from its 2025 acquisition of Pillar. Employ presents it alongside its own ATSs (Lever, Jobvite and JazzHR), and its integrations page also shows logos for several other ATSs, including UKG. Employ's product page describes live interview guidance, interviewer coaching and candidate sentiment, and says it "does not provide candidate scoring or hiring recommendations". Because the integrations page shows a logo rather than documentation, ask Employ which UKG product is supported and where output lands. Our Lever notetaker guide describes the product from the Employ side.
VidCruiter: moving the interview onto a platform
VidCruiter's UKG page describes two integrations, one for UKG Pro Recruiting and one for UKG Ready, offering structured digital interviews, automated scheduling and collaborative evaluation embedded in UKG workflows. This is a different model from a notetaker: interviews run on VidCruiter rather than being captured from Teams or Zoom. It suits high-volume or hourly hiring on UKG Ready especially, since the notetaker documentation we found names UKG Pro.
How to choose
| If you need | Start with |
|---|---|
| Notes on UKG Pro candidates from existing Teams, Zoom or Meet interviews | Metaview |
| Interview guidance and coaching, not just notes | AI Interview Companion, after confirming UKG support |
| Structured interviewing for UKG Ready | VidCruiter |
| Phone screens captured | Metaview, which describes calling through a registered number |
| A free tier to pilot | Metaview |
Using Bryte AI questions with a notetaker
The two fit together well if you plan for it:
- Draft questions with Bryte AI on the opportunity, then have the hiring manager edit them into a final set.
- Mirror the questions in the notetaker's template, so the summary is organized by the same questions.
- After each interview, check coverage: which planned questions were asked, and which were skipped.
- Score in UKG against the same questions, citing the candidate's words from the notes.
Our guide to evidence-based interview feedback shows how to write those scores.
Who needs to be involved
UKG Pro is usually owned by an HRIS or HR technology team, and a notetaker connection touches their system. Before connecting anything, agree:
- The connection owner: who authorizes the connection, and how it is maintained if that person leaves. Use a service account where UKG allows it.
- Optional permissions: Metaview lists creating candidates and moving or rejecting applications as optional. Decide deliberately whether a notetaker should be able to change a candidate's status.
- Subprocessors: Kombo sits between Metaview and UKG Pro. Add it to your records, and review it with the notetaker in the same data protection assessment. Our DPA guide lists what to check.
- Retention: UKG's candidate retention and the notetaker's recording retention should match, so a deleted candidate does not survive in a transcript.
What it costs, as an example
An illustrative example from Metaview's published prices as of October 2026, not a quote. We did not find published prices for UKG Pro Recruiting, Bryte AI, AI Interview Companion or VidCruiter on the pages we checked.
Metaview Pro for 6 recruiters: $60 × 6 = $360/month
Occasional interviewers on Metaview Free: $0 (25 calls per month each)
Bryte AI suite: purchased separately from UKG; price on request
AI Interview Companion, VidCruiter: ask each vendor
The phone-screen gap
UKG's recruiting documentation we checked does not describe call recording. Metaview's phone calls guide describes calling candidates through Metaview from the browser or your phone. Otherwise, our guide to recording a phone screen covers alternatives.
What to test before rollout
| Check | Pass looks like | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Product match | The vendor confirms support for your UKG product (Pro or Ready) in writing | |
| Write permissions | Optional "add notes" and "add a link" permissions are granted and notes appear | |
| Matching | Calendar-booked interviews attach to the right application | |
| Question coverage | Summaries are organized by your Bryte AI or interview guide questions | |
| Scorecards still done | Interviewers complete UKG evaluations themselves | |
| Deletion | A candidate's recording and transcript can be deleted in both systems |
A note format organized by question
[Interview type] – [Opportunity] – [Date]
Recommendation: [Advance / Hold / Decline]
By interview question:
- Q1 [question]: "[candidate's words]"
- Q2 [question]: "[candidate's words]"
- Q3 [question]: not asked
Concerns: [ ]
Logistics: pay expectation [ ] start date [ ] location [ ]
Consent to record given: [Yes]
Marking a question "not asked" is as useful as the answers: it shows the next interviewer what still needs covering. Use our consent script for the opening line.
Standalone tools, and who each option suits
Interview Signal has no UKG integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the interviewer's computer, including phone screens, and exports a scorecard quoting the candidate that you paste into UKG.
- Metaview: UKG Pro teams that want notes written to candidates from existing video interviews, with a free tier to start.
- AI Interview Companion: teams that want coaching and live guidance and can confirm UKG support.
- VidCruiter: teams, including UKG Ready customers, ready to run interviews on a structured platform.
- A standalone tool: phone screens, interviewers who prefer no bot, or teams waiting on HRIS approval.
Questions people ask
Does UKG Pro Recruiting have a built-in AI notetaker?
Not that we could find as of October 2026. UKG's documentation describes Bryte AI in Recruiting drafting job descriptions and interview questions in the Opportunity wizard, which requires your organization to buy the Bryte AI suite. Recording and summarizing live interviews comes from integrations.
Does Metaview work with UKG Pro?
Yes. Metaview's help center documents a UKG Pro integration authorized through Kombo, with notes posted to the candidate with one click and links to Metaview notes added automatically. Tags and interviews are not available through the UKG Pro API, so Metaview does not schedule calls from UKG and matches calendar-booked calls instead.
Does the Metaview integration cover UKG Ready?
Metaview's article covers UKG Pro only, as of October 2026. If you run UKG Ready, confirm with Metaview before planning around it. VidCruiter documents separate integrations for UKG Pro Recruiting and UKG Ready.
Does Employ's AI Interview Companion integrate with UKG?
Employ's AI Interview Companion integrations page shows a UKG logo among its ATS integrations as of October 2026. The page does not say which UKG product or what is written back, so confirm both with Employ.
