Pinpoint added its own AI Notetaker in 2026, and for most Pinpoint customers it changes the question from "which integration?" to "is the native tool enough?" As of October 2026 Pinpoint's help center describes a notetaker that joins Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams interviews booked through Pinpoint, writes a transcript and a timestamped summary, and shows the relevant parts of the conversation under each scorecard question. In August Pinpoint added a candidate consent step that keeps the notetaker out unless the candidate opts in.

This page covers how the native tool works and what it needs, where it stops, the partners that still connect, and what to test. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.

Pinpoint's native AI Notetaker

  • Capture: Pinpoint's AI Notetaker article says a participant called "Pinpoint Notetaker" joins live video interviews that were booked through Pinpoint with a Zoom, Meet or Teams link.
  • Output: a full transcript with speaker labels and timestamps, keyword search across transcripts, and an AI summary whose points link back to the transcript.
  • Scorecards: under each scorecard question, "Show notes" surfaces the parts of the transcript that relate to it. Pinpoint is explicit that scorecards are not auto-filled.
  • Speed: notes are typically ready in about one minute for every 45 minutes of interview.
  • Storage: Pinpoint says it never stores audio or video, only the text transcript, and that recordings on Cronofy's side (its capture provider) are deleted after 7 days.
  • Turning it on: your CSM enables it, users need the "Enable AI notetaker on Interviews" permission, and the toggle is off by default on each interview. A stage action can pre-set it for a stage.
  • Pricing: it uses Pinpoint Credits, prepaid units priced on your credit quote from your CSM. Pinpoint does not publish a per-interview price.

Pinpoint's AI Notetaker Consent article describes one of the more careful consent flows we have seen in an ATS:

  • Opt-in by default. If a candidate has not ticked "Allow us to record and summarise this interview with AI", the notetaker does not join and no transcript is made.
  • Opt-out countries. Admins can list countries where recording is on by default and candidates can untick it.
  • Per interview. Each interview asks again; a yes for round one is not a yes for round two.
  • Visible status. The interview page shows Opted-in, Opted-out or No response.
  • Spoken confirmation still expected. Pinpoint's scheduling screen reminds interviewers to confirm consent at the start of the call.

Consent is switched on by Pinpoint on request, and the candidate-facing text is in English only for now, which matters if you hire in other languages. Our consent script covers the spoken line.

Where the native tool stops

  • No phone or in-person capture. Pinpoint says the notetaker does not work for in-person interviews or one-way video, and only appears for interviews with a video conferencing link.
  • Links must come from Pinpoint. If someone pastes a Zoom link into the invite after creating it, the bot will not know to join.
  • Deletion is all or nothing. To delete a transcript on a candidate's request, you delete the interview from Pinpoint; there is no way to remove the transcript while keeping the interview record.
  • Language. Pinpoint says English works best and quality varies in other languages.

Turning it on without surprises

Because the notetaker depends on a CSM switch, a user permission, a per-interview toggle and, optionally, a consent feature, a rushed rollout tends to produce a week of interviews that were never captured. A safer order:

  1. Ask your CSM three things in writing: how many credits an interview uses, whether consent capture can be switched on at the same time, and where your transcripts are processed (Pinpoint says US or UK depending on region).
  2. Grant the permission deliberately. Decide which roles get "Enable AI notetaker on Interviews" rather than giving it to everyone.
  3. Set stage defaults. Use a stage action to turn the notetaker on for the stages where you want it, so recruiters are not relying on remembering the toggle.
  4. Set consent policy by country with whoever owns data protection, before the first candidate sees the preference page.
  5. Pilot with one hiring team for two weeks, with a named person checking each interview for a transcript, summary and scorecard notes.

Pinpoint's August 2026 release notes also added AI token usage reporting by month, feature and user, which is a practical way to watch credit consumption during the pilot.

Partners that still connect to Pinpoint

ToolWhere it is documentedWhat it does with Pinpoint
MetaviewMetaview help centerAutomatic capture of interviews scheduled in Pinpoint; one-click note posting; links to notes; reads scorecards; call access for Pinpoint Recruiter and Hiring Manager roles
ScreenloopScreenloop help centerSyncs roles, candidates and interviews; the API key it asks for is read-only, so notes stay in Screenloop

Metaview's setup needs a Pinpoint user with the Company Manager permission to create an API key with seven permissions, including read and write on comments and interviews. Metaview describes it as a direct connection with no third-party integration partner. Its pricing page lists a free tier of 25 calls a month and Pro at $60 a user a month, separate from Pinpoint credits.

Native versus Metaview: how to decide

If you needStart with
Transcript moments shown under each scorecard questionPinpoint AI Notetaker
Candidate opt-in managed inside the ATSPinpoint AI Notetaker with Consent
Phone screens capturedMetaview, which describes calling through a registered number
One notetaker across several ATSs in a groupMetaview
A published per-seat price to budget againstMetaview

Running both on the same interview makes little sense: two bots, two consent stories, two transcripts. If phone screens are the gap, a common split is the native tool for video rounds and a separate method for calls.

The phone-screen gap

Many Pinpoint customers hire across locations and brands, often with high-volume roles where first contact is a phone call. The native notetaker does not cover those calls. Metaview's phone calls guide describes browser or phone calling through Metaview. Otherwise, document calls with a short manual format and keep them out of the scorecard-notes comparison. Our guide to recording a phone screen covers the options.

What to test before rollout

CheckPass looks likeResult
Consent flowA "No response" candidate gets no notetaker; an opt-out is respected
Link sourceEvery pilot interview's link was generated by Pinpoint, and the bot joined
Scorecard notesNotes under each question match what the candidate actually said
Credit useOpted-out interviews are not charged, as Pinpoint describes, and you know how errors are handled
Deletion requestYour team knows deleting a transcript means deleting the interview record
Non-English interviewsTranscript quality is acceptable for the languages you hire in

Watch the scorecard notes most closely. Pinpoint says not every question gets notes, which is expected when a topic was not discussed. Train interviewers to treat a missing note as "not covered", not as a weakness. Our guide to evidence-based feedback shows how to write scores that cite the transcript.

A note format for calls the notetaker does not reach

[Phone / in person] – [Job] – [Date]

Recommendation: [per your Pinpoint scorecard]

Evidence by scorecard question:
- [Question]: "[candidate's words]"
- [Question]: "[candidate's words]"

Not covered in this call: [ ]
Logistics: pay expectation [ ] notice period [ ] location [ ]
Consent to record: [Yes / No, typed notes]

Matching the headings to your scorecard questions keeps phone-screen notes comparable with the native notetaker's per-question notes. Our scorecard template shows the structure.

Standalone tools, and who each option suits

Interview Signal has no Pinpoint integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the interviewer's computer, including phone calls, and exports a scorecard quoting the candidate that you paste into Pinpoint. With a native tool this close to the scorecard, most Pinpoint teams should test it first.

  • Pinpoint AI Notetaker: most teams, especially those with structured scorecards and candidates in countries that expect opt-in consent.
  • Metaview: teams that need phone capture or one notetaker across several ATSs.
  • Screenloop: teams already using it for interview intelligence, accepting that notes stay in Screenloop.
  • A standalone tool: phone screens, in-person rounds, or interviewers who prefer no bot.

Questions people ask

Does Pinpoint have its own AI notetaker?

Yes. As of October 2026 Pinpoint's help center describes an AI Notetaker that joins Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams interviews booked through Pinpoint as a participant called Pinpoint Notetaker, produces a transcript and timestamped summary, and surfaces relevant transcript sections under each scorecard question. It was announced in Pinpoint's April 2026 release notes.

How is Pinpoint's AI Notetaker priced?

It uses Pinpoint Credits, prepaid units that Pinpoint also uses for background checks, reference checks and one-way video interviews. Pinpoint's credits article says pricing is attached to your credit quote and available from your customer success manager, so there is no published per-interview price.

Does the Pinpoint AI Notetaker fill in scorecards?

No. Pinpoint's help article says scorecards are not auto-filled. The interviewer still scores; the AI shows notes drawn from the transcript under each scorecard question, with timestamp links, to help recall.

Can a candidate decline the Pinpoint notetaker?

Yes. Pinpoint's AI Notetaker Consent feature, added in its August 2026 release, asks candidates for a recording preference before the interview. By default the notetaker joins only if the candidate opts in; admins can set opt-out countries where recording is on by default and candidates can decline.
