Paylocity is a payroll and HR platform with a recruiting module, and its AI work in recruiting has gone into getting candidates to an interview rather than documenting the interview itself. As of October 2026 its recruiting page describes conversational AI over SMS and web, AI-assisted screening and scheduling, AI resume summaries and one-way video interviews. There is no native notetaker for live interviews, and we found very few notetakers that document a Paylocity connection.

That makes this page different from most of our ATS guides. Instead of comparing five integrations, it sets out what we could and could not confirm, explains the one AI interviewing product that does sync to Paylocity, and gives a practical way to document interviews without an integration. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.

What Paylocity does natively

  • Conversational AI: Paylocity's recruiting page describes conversational AI across SMS and web to keep candidates engaged from click to hire.
  • Screening and scheduling: the same page says AI streamlines candidate screening, routing and interview scheduling, and describes AI candidate matching and resume summaries.
  • One-way video: candidates record answers to screening questions on their own time, and the team reviews later. That is asynchronous; there is no live conversation to take notes on.
  • Evaluations in one place: Paylocity describes bringing one-way video, assessments and background checks into one place for the hiring decision.

None of this records a live phone or video interview. If a recruiter calls a candidate or a hiring manager runs a Teams interview, what was said exists only in whatever notes they typed.

What we found for integrations

ToolWhat we found, as of October 2026Status
MetaviewA Paylocity page on Metaview's site describing automatic capture of calls scheduled through Paylocity. Paylocity is not in Metaview's help center ATS list, and Paylocity's marketplace search returned no Metaview listing.Unconfirmed; ask Metaview
Classet (Joy)A Paylocity integration page describing AI voice screening that syncs summaries, transcripts and recordings to PaylocityDocumented by Classet; an AI interviewer, not a notetaker
BrightHireNot on BrightHire's integrations page; no Paylocity marketplace resultNot found
FirefliesNo Paylocity page among Fireflies' ATS integrations; no marketplace resultNot found

We searched Paylocity's integration marketplace by name for Metaview, BrightHire, Fireflies and Classet, and for the word "interview", and each search returned no results. The marketplace search may only match partner names, so absence there is not proof that no integration exists, but it does mean none is promoted by Paylocity.

Joy is an interviewer, not a notetaker

Classet's Joy is the clearest example of AI interview data reaching Paylocity, and it is a different category of tool. Per Classet's page, Joy calls applicants, conducts a structured voice interview, checks must-have requirements such as certifications or travel radius, and flags candidates who do not meet them. Summaries, transcripts and recordings sync to Paylocity. Classet says Paylocity supports a basic integration covering candidate creation and interview delivery, and that ATS Sync starts at $1,995 a month.

That suits high-volume hourly hiring where the first screen is a checklist. It does not help a recruiter or hiring manager document their own conversations. It also raises questions a notetaker does not: an AI that asks the questions and flags candidates is closer to an automated decision tool, and several states regulate those. Read our AI hiring laws by state overview and talk to counsel before deploying one. This is not legal advice.

Documenting interviews without an integration

For most Paylocity customers, the practical answer is a notetaker that does not depend on the ATS, plus a short paste into the candidate record. It sounds manual, but it has advantages:

  • Coverage: a tool that is not tied to Paylocity's scheduling captures ad hoc calls and interviews booked from personal calendars, which integrations often miss.
  • Control: the recruiter decides what is saved to the candidate record, so a volunteered health detail or a comment about family does not land in the ATS.
  • Consistency: a fixed format makes notes comparable across interviewers.

The cost is about a minute per interview to review and paste. Our guide to writing candidate notes in your ATS covers what to leave out.

A note format to paste into Paylocity

[Phone / video / in person] – [Job] – [Date] – [Interviewer]

Recommendation: [Advance / Hold / Decline]

Must-haves:
- [Requirement]: [Met / Not met] – "[candidate's words]"
- [Requirement]: [Met / Not met] – "[candidate's words]"

Strengths: [ ]
Concerns: [ ]
Logistics: pay expectation [ ] availability [ ] start date [ ]
Recorded with consent: [Yes / No]

For hourly roles, the must-haves block does most of the work. For salaried roles, add two or three evidence lines tied to the job's key requirements. Our high-volume hiring guide covers screening criteria for hourly hiring.

If you want to test Metaview's Paylocity connection

  1. Ask Metaview in writing how the connection is set up, what permissions it needs in Paylocity, and what it writes back (a note, a link, an attachment, or nothing).
  2. Confirm scheduling: its page says it captures calls "scheduled through Paylocity". Check how that works for interviews booked from Outlook or Google Calendar.
  3. Run five interviews and check each landed on the right candidate in Paylocity.
  4. Check deletion: a candidate's recording and transcript can be deleted in Metaview, and anything written to Paylocity removed.

Metaview's published pricing is a free tier of 25 calls a month and Pro at $60 a user a month (pricing), as of October 2026.

A two-week pilot without an integration

Because nothing needs connecting to Paylocity, a pilot of the paste approach can start the same day. A structure that gives you a clear answer:

  1. Pick two recruiters and one hiring manager covering a mix of phone screens and video interviews.
  2. Agree the note format above and where it goes in the candidate record, so every pasted note is in the same place.
  3. Time each paste for the first week. If reviewing and pasting takes more than two minutes, the summary is too long; shorten the template.
  4. Ask the hiring manager after week two whether pasted notes helped them decide faster than the typed notes they had before.
  5. Count gaps: interviews with no note at all. If that number is not close to zero, the problem is habit, not tooling.

If the pilot works, the case for a deeper integration rests on the paste time saved, which is small. That is worth knowing before negotiating a contract for an integration Paylocity's marketplace does not list.

Phone screens

Paylocity's recruiting page does not describe a built-in calling system for recruiters. For phone screens, the options are a notetaker with phone capture, a phone system that records, or a desktop tool that captures audio on the recruiter's computer. Our guide to recording a phone screen covers each, and our consent script gives the opening line.

What to check before choosing

CoveragePhone screens, video interviews and ad hoc calls are all captured or documented
Paste timeReviewing and pasting a summary takes under two minutes
Sensitive detailsSummaries are checked before saving, and nothing protected is stored
RetentionRecordings are kept no longer than your candidate retention period

Standalone tools, and who each option suits

Interview Signal has no Paylocity integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the interviewer's computer, including phone screens, and exports a scorecard quoting the candidate that you paste into the Paylocity candidate record.

  • A standalone notetaker plus a paste: most Paylocity teams, given how few integrations are documented.
  • Metaview: teams willing to confirm the Paylocity connection with Metaview and pilot it.
  • Classet Joy: high-volume hourly hiring that wants AI to run the first screen, with legal review first.
  • Typed notes in a fixed format: small teams with a handful of interviews a month.

Questions people ask

Does Paylocity have a built-in AI notetaker for interviews?

Not that we could find as of October 2026. Paylocity's recruiting page describes conversational AI over SMS and web, AI-assisted screening, routing and interview scheduling, AI resume summaries and one-way video interviews, but not recording, transcribing or summarizing a live interview.

Does Metaview integrate with Paylocity?

Metaview's website has a Paylocity integration page that describes automatically recording, transcribing and summarizing calls scheduled through Paylocity. However, Paylocity does not appear in Metaview's help center list of ATS integrations, and a search of Paylocity's marketplace for Metaview returned no results, both as of October 2026. Confirm the setup and what is written back with Metaview before you rely on it.

Is Classet's Joy a notetaker for Paylocity?

No. Classet describes Joy as an AI voice screener that calls applicants and conducts structured phone interviews itself, then syncs summaries, transcripts and recordings to Paylocity. It replaces a recruiter's first call rather than taking notes on one, and its Paylocity ATS Sync starts at $1,995 a month per Classet's page.

What is the simplest way to get interview notes into Paylocity?

Use a notetaker that is not tied to the ATS, then paste a short, structured summary into the candidate record. It takes a minute per interview, works for phone and video, and keeps you in control of what gets saved.
