Manatal has its own AI Notetaker, currently in beta. It joins video meetings, records them, and saves a summary and transcript to the candidate in Manatal, as described in Manatal's help center (updated August 20, 2026). It is a credit-based add-on with no published price, and it covers video calls only. Third-party options exist for the gaps, but the two documented notetaker integrations, Metaview and CoRecruit, both require Manatal's top plan, Enterprise Plus.

That plan gate shapes the decision more than features do. This page covers the native notetaker, the cost of the integration route, the phone option through KrispCall, and what to test before a recruiter relies on any of it. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.

Manatal's native AI Notetaker

  • Status: a beta add-on that uses credits, per Manatal's AI Notetaker help article, updated August 20, 2026.
  • How it joins: invite [email protected] to the meeting, or let it auto-join. It needs a connected Outlook or Google calendar and a video meeting link.
  • Matching rule: the meeting must include a candidate or contact who exists in Manatal. That is how it knows where to save the output.
  • Output: a recording, a summary in the candidate's Assessments tab, and a transcript in its own tab.
  • Languages: more than 40, which is broader than many ATS-native tools.
  • Price: credit-based; Manatal does not publish what credits cost on the pages we checked.

Suits you if your interviews are scheduled video calls and you want one vendor. Think harder if you screen by phone, interview candidates not yet in Manatal, or need a fixed monthly cost.

Where the native tool stops

  • No phone calls: it needs a video meeting link, so a phone screen is not covered.
  • Candidate must exist first: a call with someone you have not yet added to Manatal will not be matched. Add the candidate before the call.
  • Beta: features and pricing may change. Do not build a process that depends on beta behavior without a fallback.
  • Visible participant: it joins the meeting as an invitee, which candidates and clients will see.

Integrations, and the Enterprise Plus gate

ToolWhere it is documentedPlan neededWhat reaches ManatalPublished pricing
MetaviewMetaview help center (via Kombo)Enterprise PlusNotes posted back to the candidateFree 25 calls/mo; Pro $60/user/mo (pricing)
CoRecruitManatal directory; setup guideOpen API, Enterprise Plus onlyNotes in the candidate's Notes tabFrom $64/user/mo billed annually (pricing)
KrispCallManatal directoryOpen APICalls and recordings logged; AI transcriptions and summaries accessible in ManatalCheck KrispCall's site

We did not find BrightHire, Fireflies, Otter, Tactiq or Noota in Manatal's integrations directory. Manatal also sells an AI Interviewer add-on from $40 a month for 20 interviews, in which an AI runs an asynchronous interview. That is a screening tool, not a notetaker.

What the plan gate costs, as an example

An illustrative example built from published prices as of October 2026, not a quote. Manatal's pricing page lists Professional at $15, Enterprise at $35 and Enterprise Plus at $55 a user a month billed yearly ($19, $39 and $59 monthly). A five-recruiter team on Professional:

Stay on Professional, use the native AI Notetaker:
  $15 × 5 = $75/month + AI Notetaker credits (price not published)

Move to Enterprise Plus to use Metaview:
  $55 × 5 = $275/month (+$200/month vs Professional)
  + Metaview Free ($0, 25 calls/user/month) or Pro ($60 × 5 = $300/month)

Move to Enterprise Plus to use CoRecruit:
  $275/month + CoRecruit from $64 × 5 = $320/month

On Manatal, the plan upgrade can cost as much as the notetaker. Enterprise Plus includes other features, so the difference is not purely the price of integration, but if notes are your only reason to upgrade, try the native beta first and get a credit price from Manatal.

The phone-screen gap

KrispCall is the documented phone route. Manatal's KrispCall page says calls and recordings are logged and that KrispCall's "AI-powered call transcriptions and summaries" are accessible within Manatal. It requires Open API access, so check your plan. Recruiters would need to call through KrispCall rather than a personal mobile. Our guide to recording a phone screen covers other options.

A practical split for many Manatal teams is the native AI Notetaker for scheduled video interviews and a phone system with transcription for screens, so neither leaves a gap. Keep the capture method visible in the note so reviewers know where each one came from.

Making the native beta work day to day

Most problems with the native notetaker come from its matching rule rather than its transcription. Because it saves output to a candidate or contact who is already in Manatal and on the invite, a few habits prevent missing notes:

  1. Create the candidate before you book the call, using the same email address the invite goes to. A mismatch between a personal and a work email is the most likely reason a summary goes nowhere.
  2. Book from a connected calendar and always include a video link, even for short calls.
  3. Decide on auto-join versus inviting [email protected]. Auto-join is easier but joins every matching meeting; inviting by hand gives recruiters a deliberate choice per call.
  4. Check the Assessments tab after each of the first ten calls to confirm the summary arrived, and note how long it took.

What to test before rollout

CheckPass looks likeResult
Candidate matchingSummary lands on the right candidate when two share a name
Contact versus candidateClient calls with a contact are saved to the contact, not a candidate
Assessments tabHiring managers find the summary there without being told
Credit usageYou know how many credits a typical interview uses, and the monthly total
LanguageInterviews in your second language transcribe accurately
Phone pathPhone screens are captured through a phone integration, or a manual fallback is agreed
DeletionA candidate's recording and transcript can be deleted on request

The credit-usage check matters because the price is not published. Run a week of real interviews and read the credit balance before and after, so you can forecast monthly cost before you commit.

A note format for the Assessments tab

[Job] – [Client] – [Date] – [Video / phone / in person]

Recommendation: [Submit / Next round / Hold / Reject]

Fit, in the candidate's words:
- [Requirement]: "[quote]"
- [Requirement]: "[quote]"
- [Requirement]: "[quote]"

Salary: current [ ] expected [ ]
Notice period: [ ] Location / remote: [ ]
Other processes: [ ]
Consent to record given: [Yes]

Editing the AI summary into this shape before sharing makes it easy to drop into a client submittal. See our candidate submittal template.

  • Notice: a meeting invitee is visible, a phone recording is not. Use one spoken line every time; our consent script has wording.
  • International candidates: if you interview outside the US, check local rules, such as those in our UK GDPR recording guide.
  • Retention: decide how long recordings stay attached to candidates, separately from text notes.

Standalone tools, and who each option suits

Interview Signal has no Manatal integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the recruiter's own computer, including phone screens, keeps transcripts local, and produces a scorecard and submittal quoting the candidate that you paste into Manatal. It works on any Manatal plan, but nothing is written to Manatal automatically.

  • Manatal AI Notetaker: teams on any plan with mostly scheduled video interviews, willing to use a beta.
  • Metaview: teams already on Enterprise Plus who want a free tier to trial.
  • CoRecruit: agencies on Enterprise Plus that want notes in the Notes tab.
  • KrispCall: phone-heavy teams with Open API access.
  • A standalone tool: teams on Professional or Enterprise who do not want to upgrade for integration.

Questions people ask

Does Manatal have its own AI notetaker?

Yes, in beta. Manatal's help center (updated August 20, 2026) describes an AI Notetaker add-on that uses credits, joins video meetings booked through a connected Outlook or Google calendar, and saves a recording, a summary in the Assessments tab and a transcript in its own tab. The meeting must include a Manatal candidate or contact. Manatal does not publish the credit price.

Which Manatal plan do I need for Metaview or CoRecruit?

Enterprise Plus, as of October 2026. Metaview's help center says the Manatal integration requires the Enterprise Plus plan, and Manatal's CoRecruit setup guide requires Open API access, which Manatal offers on Enterprise Plus only. Manatal lists Enterprise Plus at $55 a user a month billed yearly.

Can Manatal capture phone screens?

Not through the native AI Notetaker, which needs a video meeting link. Manatal's KrispCall integration page says calls and recordings are logged and that KrispCall's AI transcriptions and summaries are accessible within Manatal. It also requires Open API access.

Is Manatal's AI Interviewer the same as the AI Notetaker?

No. The AI Interviewer is a separate add-on, priced from $40 a month for 20 interviews, in which an AI runs an asynchronous interview with the candidate. The AI Notetaker records and summarizes meetings your own team runs.
