Hireology has no AI notetaker for live interviews as of October 2026. Its AI Interview, an add-on for Perform package customers, replaces the first-round phone screen with an AI voice interview that returns a score, a written summary and a full transcript. For interviews your managers run themselves, Hireology provides interview guides with notes and 1 to 5 star scoring and adds Zoom, Teams or Google Meet links, but it does not record them, and no AI notetaker is listed among its integrations, so notes from any other tool are pasted in.
This page covers what Hireology's AI does, where live interview notes go, which outside tools are realistic, and what to check. We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated.
What is Hireology, and who uses it?
Hireology is a hiring platform for multi-location employers in automotive dealerships, healthcare and hospitality, many of them filling frontline roles. Its packages page lists two plans, Core and Perform, without published prices; AI features such as AI Candidate Summary and AI Match are in Perform, and AI Interview is an add-on available only to Perform customers. Hireology's integrations include dealer management systems such as CDK and Dealertrack, and care scheduling tools such as AlayaCare and AxisCare.
Does Hireology have its own AI notetaker?
No, but it has three AI features that touch interviews. Hireology's AI page sums up its stance: "AI should inform your decisions, not make them for you."
AI Interview
Per Hireology's AI Interview setup guide (updated October 22, 2026), AI Interviews "replace the first-round phone screen with a voice interview candidates complete on their own schedule", and your team gets "a score, a written summary, and a full transcript". You create an Agent with a name and voice, and an Interview Guide of three question types: Information (not scored), Assessment (scored 1 to 5, up to two follow-ups) and Behavioral (scored 1 to 5 using the STAR method). Every AI Interview has a 25-minute limit.
AI Candidate Summary
A beta feature, per its setup guide. It summarizes the application and resume into an overview, considerations, areas to clarify and suggested interview questions, and candidates see an "AI Usage Notice" during the application. It prepares you for the interview but does not record it.
Beaker
Beaker is Hireology's AI assistant, using ChatGPT to draft job descriptions and edit text.
What happens in a live interview in Hireology?
Hireology's How to Conduct an Interview article (updated September 14, 2026) describes an Impressions interview, "commonly referred to as a phone screen", an Elements behavioral interview, and custom templates. You click Start Interview, or Download to print and take notes by hand. Questions appear one at a time; notes "are saved as you type and are visible to the hiring team"; each question is scored from 1 star (Poor) to 5 stars (Excellent) or skipped if not asked.
Scheduling, per the Scheduling Interviews article, offers Phone, In Person or Video, one-on-one or panel, and adds a meeting link once you connect Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Nothing in these articles records or transcribes the conversation.
Which AI notetakers list a Hireology integration?
None we could find. Hireology's integrations page covers HCM and payroll, job boards, background checks, assessments and video interviewing tools, dealer management systems, onboarding and shift scheduling, with no notetaker or phone system, and Metaview's and CoRecruit's integration directories did not list Hireology in October 2026. Any notetaker works only as a standalone tool alongside it.
How do the realistic options compare?
As published on each vendor's own pages, as of October 2026. "Not stated" means the linked pages do not say.
| Option | How it captures | Bot? | Phone screens | Link to Hireology | Published price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI Interview (native add-on) | AI voice interview the candidate completes alone (guide) | Not applicable | Replaces the first phone screen | Native: score, summary, transcript | Not published; Perform add-on | Multi-location employers with many applicants per opening |
| Interview guide notes (native) | Typed by the interviewer (article) | No | Yes, typed during the call | Native notes and star scores | Included in Hireology | Managers who type quickly and run short interviews |
| Metaview (standalone) | Joins video calls; phone via registered number or browser calling | Yes on video | Yes | None listed; you paste | Free 25 calls/month; Pro $60/user/month (pricing) | Recruiters with many video interviews |
| Interview Signal | Desktop app records the interviewer's own computer audio | No bot | Yes, if the call runs through the computer | None; you paste | Free 20 minutes; 5 hours $29; Solo $49/month; Team $59/seat/month (pricing) | Managers at a desk who want a quoted scorecard without a bot |
How do you get AI notes into Hireology without an integration?
- Score it yourself in the guide. Open the candidate, click Start Interview, and enter your own star ratings; AI notes are evidence, not the score.
- Paste evidence per question. Each question takes a note, so paste the candidate's own words under the question they answer.
- Add the overall summary to the interview details, which the article says can hold additional notes outside the individual questions.
- Use comments for the rest. Per Add and Manage Candidate Comments, open the Candidate Drawer, type or paste into the comments section, attach a file if needed, and click +Add Comments; @mention the next interviewer.
Comments can be deleted, which also removes them from the candidate's History page. Our guide to getting AI notes into an ATS without an integration covers other routes, and the interview guide for hourly roles covers the questions themselves.
A comment format for frontline interviews
Location managers read comments on a phone between shifts, so keep pasted notes short and put the deciding facts first:
[Job] - [Location] - [Date] - [Impressions / Elements]
Recommendation: [Hire / Second interview / Pass]
Availability: [days, shifts, start date]
Certifications or licenses: [as stated]
Evidence:
- [Question]: "[candidate's words]"
- [Question]: "[candidate's words]"
Concern to check next: [ ]
Told about recording: [Yes]
The star scores stay in the Interview Guide; the comment carries the evidence behind them and the logistics a second interviewer needs.
What should you check for privacy and consent?
- Recording notice. Hireology's own interviews are not recorded, but a notetaker is. Say so at the start with one consent line, and check the state rules in recording calls across state lines.
- AI scoring rules. The AI Interview scores answers, so check state and local rules in our AI hiring laws by state guide; our explainer on what an AI interviewer is covers how these tools differ from notetakers.
- Candidate notice. Hireology shows an AI Usage Notice for AI Candidate Summary; confirm what candidates are told about the AI Interview too.
- Copies. A standalone notetaker keeps a second copy of each interview; set its retention to match yours.
What should you test before rollout?
| Check | Pass looks like | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Scores stay human | Star ratings in live interviews are entered by the interviewer | |
| Where notes land | Hiring managers at each location find pasted notes on the right candidate | |
| AI Interview review | Someone reads the transcript before rejecting anyone on the score | |
| Phone screens | Managers know which calls are captured and which are typed | |
| Deletion | A candidate's notes and any outside recording can be removed on request |
Who should pick which option?
- AI Interview: best for dealerships and care providers on Perform with more applicants than managers can phone.
- Interview guide notes: best for short, structured interviews where typed notes and star scores are enough.
- A standalone notetaker and paste: best for recruiters or managers who want the candidate's actual words for close calls.
Interview Signal is in the last group: it has no Hireology integration. It is a desktop app for Windows and macOS with no bot, so phone screens taken through the computer and video interviews are captured the same way, and it produces a scorecard with the candidate's own quotes, with transcripts kept on the interviewer's computer. Its ready-made ATS note formats are for Bullhorn, Greenhouse, Lever and JobAdder only, so in Hireology you paste the plain version into the guide or comments. It is desktop only, with no mobile app for managers on the floor, newer with few public reviews, and does not record video.
Questions people ask
Does Hireology have an AI notetaker?
Not for live interviews, as of October 2026. Hireology's AI Interview, an add-on for Perform package customers, replaces the first-round phone screen with an AI voice interview that returns a score, a written summary and a full transcript. Interviews run by your own managers use Hireology's interview guides, where notes are typed and each question is scored 1 to 5 stars.
Which AI notetakers integrate with Hireology?
None that we could find in October 2026. Hireology's integrations page lists HR and payroll, job boards, background checks, assessments, dealer management and shift scheduling partners, but no notetaker or phone system, and Metaview's and CoRecruit's integration directories did not list Hireology. Notes from a standalone tool have to be pasted.
How do I add interview notes in Hireology?
Click Start Interview on the candidate to open the Interview Guide, where notes save as you type and are visible to the hiring team, and you can add notes per question or to the interview details. For anything else, open the Candidate Drawer, type or paste into the comments section, attach a file if needed and click Add Comments.
Does Hireology's AI Interview make hiring decisions?
Hireology says its AI should inform decisions, not make them. The AI Interview scores assessment and behavioral questions from 1 to 5 against rubrics you define, and your team reviews the score, summary and transcript. Check state and local AI-in-hiring rules before using automated scoring.
