IT staffing recruiters use Interview Signal to screen developers, engineers and other technical candidates for client job orders without needing to be specialists. The kit is built from the client's job description and brief, follow-ups probe what the CV claims, the accuracy check marks technical claims green or red, and the submittal comes out in the built-in "Technical" template for permanent roles or "Contract / temp" for contractors. There is no ATS integration: notes are shaped for Bullhorn and JobAdder, and for Ceipal or JobDiva you paste or attach by hand. This describes version 0.9.10, current as of October 2026.

How does an IT staffing recruiter use Interview Signal?

  1. Build the job order. Press "New role", paste the client's job description or its link ("Paste the posting link", then "Fetch"), and type what the hiring manager really needs into "What the client actually wants". The brief decides which skills become must-asks: the model is told not to mark a skill must-ask when the job description lists it but the brief never raises it.
  2. Pick the kit's shape. For the screen that becomes a submittal, choose "Balanced": it keeps notice period, compensation expectation and right to work as must-asks. "Technical", "Coding" and "System design" give single-type kits without those questions, which suits a second, deeper round. Choose "Technical" or "Contract / temp" as the "Submittal template", then "Generate the kit" and "Save role".
  3. Attach the CV. Paste it, or attach a PDF or text file, on the pre-interview screen. Follow-ups can then probe what the CV claims, and the submittal adds a risk line where the CV claims something the interview did not establish. Word files are refused ("Word (.docx) files cannot be read here."), so paste the text or save a PDF. See attaching a CV.
  4. Run the screen on video, or by phone through the computer. Pin the technical question you are asking so the follow-ups and the accuracy check work on it.
  5. Send the submittal and the note. Edit the submittal on the review screen, then paste it into your ATS as in the table below.
  6. Shortlist for the client. Click the role on the home screen and press "Compare" for up to six scored candidates side by side; "Copy as text" gives a scores-only table for the email.

Which features help most on an IT desk?

FeatureHow it helps an IT recruiter
"What a strong answer contains"Under every question, in concrete terms a non-specialist can recognize, so you can tell a real answer from a fluent one
Accuracy checkGreen and red marks on technical claims with a one-line reason; a reading to check, never a score
Ask the AIYour own question mid-call, such as "What should a good answer about database indexing include?"; only you see it
Answer checkA private flag when an answer reads as AI-written or read out, with a question to try
The "Technical" template"Depth by area" (the scorecard table), "Gaps and risks", "Environment and tooling", "Compensation and notice"
"Copy next round"What the client's technical interview still has to cover: questions not asked, areas without evidence, areas never reached

The in-call technical features are covered together in Interview Signal for technical interviews.

How do I get notes into Bullhorn, JobAdder, Ceipal or JobDiva?

Your ATSWhat to useWatch for
Bullhorn"Copy ATS note…", then "Bullhorn note": the interview line with role and date, fit and recommendation, the summary, "Available:" and "Compensation:"With the "Contract / temp" template the rate is not read into the "Compensation:" line, so it may be missing; type it in
JobAdder"JobAdder note": candidate and role, who interviewed and when, fit, summary, availability and "Rate/salary"The same applies to "Rate/salary"
Ceipal, JobDiva or another ATS"Copy" the whole submittal, "Export .docx" and attach it, or "Add CSV row" to build one spreadsheet of candidatesNo note is shaped for these systems; paste into the candidate record

"Greenhouse scorecard note" and "Lever note" are there too, for clients who want feedback in those shapes. All of it is copy and paste: nothing is written into any ATS for you, and the CSV export prefixes any cell that starts with =, +, - or @ so a spreadsheet does not run it as a formula. Details in exports, AI note takers for Bullhorn and AI note takers for Ceipal.

What does Interview Signal not do for IT staffing?

  • No ATS integration, and no job orders pulled from an ATS: you paste or fetch the job description.
  • It does not see code. It captures audio only, so a coding exercise in a shared editor is judged from what the candidate says about it.
  • It does not verify identity. The answer check flags answers, not people; identity checks stay a separate step.
  • The accuracy check can be wrong on niche or very recent technology, and misheard technical terms mean nothing is marked.
  • Desktop only (Windows 10 or 11, macOS 13 or newer), and phone screens must run through the computer.
  • A newer product with few public reviews; try it on one live job order first.

Which plan fits an IT staffing desk?

Questions people ask

Can a non-technical IT recruiter use Interview Signal to screen developers?

Yes. Each kit question comes with a note on what a strong answer contains, written for a non-specialist; on technical questions the accuracy check marks the candidate's claims green or red with a reason; and the Ask the AI box answers your own questions mid-call. None of these changes a score; the decision stays with you and the client.

Does Interview Signal integrate with Bullhorn, Ceipal or JobDiva?

No. As of October 2026 Interview Signal has no ATS integration. Copy ATS note puts a note shaped for Bullhorn, JobAdder, Greenhouse or Lever on your clipboard to paste into the candidate record. For Ceipal, JobDiva or another system, you paste the submittal, attach the Word file or use the CSV export.

Can Interview Signal read a candidate's Word CV?

No. The CV box takes pasted text, a PDF with real text in it, or a .txt or .md file. A Word file is refused with the message Word (.docx) files cannot be read here, so paste the text or save the CV as a PDF first. The first 8,000 characters are kept.

Can Interview Signal detect AI-assisted or fake candidates in IT interviews?

It can flag answers. The answer check privately marks an answer that reads as AI-written or read out and suggests a question to try; it never changes a score and never goes in the submittal. Interview Signal does not verify identity, so identity checks remain a separate step.
