Metaview and Screenloop both turn interviews into AI notes and scorecards, but they ask you to make different decisions. As of October 2026, Metaview is a recruiting platform that plugs its notetaker into more than 100 applicant tracking systems, captures Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex and phone screens, and publishes a price: free for 25 calls a month, Pro at $60 per user per month. Screenloop is an applicant tracking system with interview intelligence, references, background checks and interviewer training built in; its notetaker also works with six other ATS, it relies on Zoom cloud recording and ATS-scheduled interviews, and it publishes no price. Choose Metaview to keep your ATS; consider Screenloop if you are open to replacing it.
Every vendor fact below comes from Metaview's and Screenloop's own sites and help centers, checked in October 2026 and linked. For longer shortlists, see Metaview alternatives and Screenloop alternatives; for Metaview on its own, see our Metaview review.

What is each one?
Metaview's interview notes page describes a notetaker that reads your scorecards, job descriptions and interview templates and posts notes and completed scorecards to the candidate's record in your ATS. Around it, Metaview sells sourcing, application review, screening and reporting agents. It does not replace your ATS; it feeds it.
Screenloop's integrations page says it "is more than an ATS. It's a unified hiring platform that brings together applicant tracking, AI interview insights, references, background checks, interviewer training, and analytics." Its homepage says that with its ATS you unlock the whole talent operations platform "at no extra cost," and that its notetaker "doesn't just take interview notes. It auto-fills scorecards." Teams that keep their ATS can still use the interview intelligence through six named integrations.
How does each one capture interviews?
Metaview: the same bot everywhere, or a desktop app
Metaview's call guide says its notetaker joins Zoom, Teams, Meet and Webex as a visible guest named after your organization, typically up to two minutes early. If a waiting room holds it, a host must admit it within five minutes of the scheduled start. Since October 2026 a desktop app for Apple Silicon Macs on macOS 14.2 or later and Windows 10 or later records microphone and computer audio with no bot, once a workspace admin enables it. Metaview joins from calendar invites, events in your ATS or a manual invite, and can be sent into a call already in progress, so it does not depend on ATS scheduling.
Screenloop: a different method per platform
- Google Meet: Screenloop detects the scheduled meeting and a recording assistant named after your organization joins. The host must admit it, ideally within the first 10 minutes. Google Workspace accounts are required; personal Gmail accounts are not supported (Meet article).
- Zoom: no participant joins; Screenloop downloads the recording from Zoom cloud storage. That requires a Zoom Pro or higher license, admin access, automatic cloud recording turned on for all users, and Screenloop connected to your ATS. Screenloop recommends auto-deleting cloud recordings after 14 days to stay within Zoom storage (Zoom article).
- Microsoft Teams: an admin enables it, and an active Teams and ATS integration is required. The article warns that interviews scheduled outside the connected workflow may not sync (Teams article).
The pattern is clear in Screenloop's own advice: "Meetings must be properly scheduled through your ATS for best results." That suits an in-house team with disciplined scheduling. It suits hiring managers who book their own calls, and quick unscheduled screens, less well. Screenloop's Zoom route also means Zoom's own cloud recording is switched on for every interview. Tell candidates in advance either way, using our interview recording consent script.
Which one handles phone screens and in-person interviews?
Metaview does both. Its phone guide describes calling candidates from Metaview through your browser, having Metaview ring your phone first, or dialing a switchboard from a registered number, with notes in about five minutes; WhatsApp and FaceTime are not supported. For in-person conversations, you can record from the browser on the Metaview home page or upload a recording.
We did not find phone or in-person capture described on Screenloop's pages, and its integrations page lists Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams but no telephony. If recruiter phone screens are a large share of your interviews, ask Screenloop how they are handled before anything else. Our guide to recording a phone screen covers the options.
What do you get during and after the interview?
Screenloop's interview intelligence page lists an AI notetaker with an automatic summary, a word-for-word transcript, auto-detected questions with summarized answers, responses sorted into predefined scorecard attributes, key-moment clips and action items, plus an AI assistant you can ask about the interview. During the call, its Interview Sidekick lets interviewers type timestamped notes and flag moments with quick reactions, using the Screenloop Chrome extension. It also includes interviewer training: timestamped feedback on key moments, shared snippets, and analytics on talk ratios, speed and sentiment. It says it supports interviews in more than 35 languages.
Metaview's notes come from templates by stage (Q&A, topic highlights or custom), with candidate summaries that combine every interview into one link, video snippets suggested from the role's scorecard questions, and reports on question coverage and talk-time. Admins can have Metaview draft a scorecard after each interview for the interviewer to review, or post it to the ATS automatically, depending on the ATS (workspace settings).
Both auto-fill scorecards, so the same caution applies to both: keep the rating with the interviewer and check that each claim in the draft is in the transcript. Sentiment analytics deserve extra care, because how upbeat a candidate sounded is not a job requirement and can reflect accent, nerves or culture.
Do you want to keep your ATS or replace it?
This is the real decision. Metaview's integrations page lists more than 100 ATS, including Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workday, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters and Teamtailor, so it fits almost any stack and follows you if you change systems later. Screenloop's plug-in route covers six ATS: Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby and Pinpoint. If you are on Workday, iCIMS or SmartRecruiters, Screenloop's interview intelligence effectively means adopting Screenloop's ATS.
Replacing an ATS is a much bigger project than adding a notetaker: every recruiter and hiring manager changes the system they work in, and years of candidate history have to move. Screenloop's case is that consolidation saves tooling costs and gives one data model for hiring, interviews and training. Weigh that against migration cost honestly; if you are not already planning to change ATS, the plug-in comparison is the fair one.
What does each cost?
Metaview's pricing page shows Free at $0 with 25 calls per user a month and access to calls from the last 14 days, Pro at $60 per user per month with unlimited calls, and tailored Enterprise pricing, as of October 2026. As an example of the arithmetic, 12 recruiters on Pro cost 12 × $60 × 12 = $8,640 a year. Screenloop publishes no prices; its pricing address leads to a demo booking page. Ask Screenloop to quote the interview intelligence alone on your current ATS and the full platform with its ATS, so you can see what the "no extra cost" bundle actually saves.
Where does the interview data go?
Metaview's privacy page says all data is hosted on AWS in the UK, kept two years by default unless you set another period, and that candidate deletion requests are confirmed within two to three business days; it lists SOC 2 Type II. Screenloop's interview intelligence page mentions user permissions and redactions; we did not find a storage region or default retention on the pages we checked, so ask for its security documentation. On Zoom, remember that recordings also sit in your Zoom cloud until deleted. See where AI note takers store interview data.
Which one suits your team?
| Your situation | Leans toward | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Happy with your ATS and not planning to change | Metaview | Plugs into more than 100 ATS |
| Already planning an ATS change | Screenloop | ATS, interview intelligence and training in one contract |
| Many phone screens | Metaview | Documented phone calling; not described for Screenloop |
| Interviews on Webex | Metaview | Supported; not listed by Screenloop |
| Zoom-only, cloud recording already on | Either | Screenloop adds no participant; Metaview's desktop app also avoids one |
| Interviewer training is a priority | Screenloop | Timestamped feedback, snippets and interviewer analytics |
| You need a price before a demo | Metaview | Published Free and Pro plans |
What should you ask both vendors?
Both
- Run an interview a hiring manager booked from their own
calendar, outside the ATS. Was it captured and matched?
- Show the auto-filled scorecard next to the transcript.
Is every claim supported?
- Where is data stored, and what is the default retention?
Metaview
- Will our admin enable the desktop app, and on which plans?
- Can hiring managers stay on Free while recruiters are on Pro?
Screenloop
- How are phone screens and in-person interviews captured?
- How is a Teams interview captured, and what does the candidate see?
- Quote for interview intelligence on our current ATS, and for
the full platform with your ATS.
What if neither fits?
If you want to keep your ATS untouched, with nothing joining the call and no dependence on scheduling discipline, a standalone desktop tool may fit better; see AI note takers without a bot. We make Interview Signal, one of those: a Windows and macOS app that captures audio on the interviewer's computer for Zoom, Teams, Meet and phone screens taken through the computer, keeps transcripts on that computer and publishes its prices, but has no ATS integration, so scorecards are pasted in by hand. Everything about Metaview and Screenloop on this page comes from their own sites, linked and dated.
Questions people ask
Is Screenloop an ATS or an AI note taker?
Both. As of October 2026 Screenloop describes itself as a unified hiring platform that combines applicant tracking, AI interview insights, references, background checks, interviewer training and analytics, and says its ATS unlocks the whole platform at no extra cost. Its AI notetaker also integrates with other ATS: Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby and Pinpoint.
Is Metaview or Screenloop cheaper?
Only Metaview publishes prices. As of October 2026 Metaview has a free plan with 25 calls per user a month and Pro at $60 per user per month. Screenloop's pricing address leads to a demo booking page, so you need a quote, and its price may depend on whether you also adopt its ATS.
Does Screenloop need Zoom cloud recording?
Yes, for Zoom interviews. Screenloop's help center says cloud recording is required for it to retrieve interview recordings, which needs a Zoom Pro or higher license, admin access, automatic cloud recording turned on, and Screenloop connected to your ATS. On Google Meet, a notetaker named after your organization joins instead and must be admitted within the first 10 minutes.
Which works for phone screens, Metaview or Screenloop?
Metaview does. You register your outbound number and call candidates through Metaview from the browser, from your phone or through its switchboard, and notes arrive within about five minutes. We did not find phone capture described on Screenloop's pages as of October 2026; its integrations page lists video platforms but no telephony.
