ReCo (usereco.io) is a Chrome extension for recruiters that transcribes Google Meet and Microsoft Teams interviews without a bot, by reading the call's closed captions, and keeps the job description, the candidate's CV, an interview guide, your notes and the live transcript in one workspace. Its main output is a client recommendation report, drafted section by section from sources you choose and exported to Word in your branding. As of November 2026 it costs €39 per license per month with a 14-day free trial, does not support Zoom, captures phone screens only as a speakerphone add-on priced on request, has no applicant tracking system (ATS) integration and does not score candidates. It suits executive search consultants, agency recruiters and freelancers whose interviews run on Meet or Teams and whose real work is the written report.

Every fact about ReCo below comes from usereco.io, its help center, changelog, Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, checked on November 2, 2026 and linked. ReCo's site carries customer case studies with time-saved figures; we leave those out, because they are the vendor's own claims rather than anything we could check.

What is ReCo, and who is it for?

ReCo is made by Recruiter Companion Labs PSA, a company registered in Kraków, Poland, according to its Privacy Policy. Its homepage describes it as "more than an AI notetaker for recruiters": a workspace for the interview stage that sits between sourcing tools and the ATS. ReCo names three audiences: executive search consultants, recruitment agencies and freelance recruiters, plus in-house talent acquisition teams in one of its case studies.

The pitch is aimed at a habit many recruiters will recognize: export a transcript from a note taker, paste it into a general AI chat with the CV, explain the role again, then rebuild the result in Word on the firm's letterhead. ReCo's answer is to keep all of those sources in one session per candidate, so the AI already has the context. The homepage FAQ says plainly that ReCo does not conduct an autonomous interview or make hiring decisions; the recruiter leads the call and makes the judgment.

How does ReCo capture an interview?

ReCo has three capture modes, set out on its interview transcription page, and they work in quite different ways:

Interview typeHow ReCo captures itWhat you needPrice
Google Meet or Microsoft TeamsReads the call's closed captions; no bot joins and no audio or video is capturedThe call and ReCo both open in Chrome, not in the desktop appsIncluded in the license
Phone screenComputer microphone; audio streamed for live speech-to-text and not storedCall from your own phone on speakerphone next to the laptop; ReCo never dialsPaid add-on, priced on request
Face-to-face interviewComputer microphone, as aboveThe laptop on the tablePaid add-on, priced on request

Three practical points follow from that table. First, Zoom is missing: ReCo's help center lists Google Meet and Microsoft Teams (via browser) as the supported video platforms, and Microsoft Teams arrived only in March 2026, according to the changelog. Second, if a client hosts the interview on Teams, you join it in Chrome rather than in the Teams app. Third, because online transcription depends on captions, the help center's fix for a transcript that does not appear is to turn on the captions (the CC button, or the C key) in Google Meet, check the call language in ReCo and make sure Meet and ReCo run in the same Chrome profile.

The caption method is the same idea as Tactiq, another Chrome extension that reads captions. ReCo's own page is candid about the trade-off: captions and speech-to-text can mishear, so check names and numbers against the original transcript after its "Enhance" clean-up. The phone and face-to-face modes must be switched on for your account after you contact ReCo, and its Terms and Conditions (section 3.1) put them under a fair-use limit agreed at that point.

What does ReCo do before and during the call?

  • Session Guides and Guide Notes. A Session Guide holds the requirements and assessment criteria for a role, and Guide Notes hold the questions for each one. ReCo's interview guides page says a guide loads for every candidate in a project and can be reused by everyone on the team working that role.
  • Projects. Sessions are grouped by hiring initiative, so the job description and questions load with the right call.
  • Chat with ReCo. A chat that has already read the CV and the job description. Quick Actions include Suggest Questions (STAR-method questions based on the role, the CV and, during the call, the live transcript), job role insights and candidate-role fit.
  • CV blinding. Names, contact details, photos and other identifiers are detected and removed in your browser before a CV goes to the AI, and you can check the result and blank out anything else.
  • Transcript editing. Since April 2026 you can correct words in the transcript, or remove a sensitive aside, before the AI uses it.

What ReCo does not describe is a live structure that tracks the interview for you: no must-ask list that ticks itself off, and no scorecard filling in as you talk. Help during the call comes from asking the chat.

What does a recruiter get after the call?

The centre of the product is the report editor, described on ReCo's recommendation reports page. The report follows the sections of your Session Guide, one paragraph per requirement. For each paragraph you pick the evidence it may draw on (the transcript, the CV, your Session Notes, the job description or your Guide Notes), regenerate a single block with your own instruction, or write it yourself. The finished report exports as an editable Word document with your firm's or your client's branding, and ReCo also produces a short candidate summary, a fit analysis against the job description and a draft rejection or feedback message.

Two things a hiring team might expect are deliberately absent. ReCo says it "does not score or rank candidates", so there are no ratings to compare across a shortlist. And there is no step that checks a quoted sentence against the transcript before it reaches the client; the recruiter reviews every paragraph. For agency desks, that review is the job anyway. Our candidate submittal template lists what a client needs to see, which is a useful checklist for whatever ReCo drafts.

How much does ReCo cost?

Prices from ReCo's pricing section, as of November 2026. The last column is our arithmetic.

OptionPublished priceWhat it coversOne year for one recruiter
Free trial14 days, no credit cardThe full product, with two optional onboarding sessions of 30 to 45 minutesn/a
License€39 per license per month, plus VAT when buying as a business (VAT included when buying as an individual)All current features, Google Meet and Teams transcription€39 × 12 = €468, plus VAT for a business
Teams, 5 or more licensesCustom quoteThe same workspace, priced around team sizeNot published
Phone and face-to-face add-onPriced on request, on usageComputer-microphone transcription under a fair-use limitNot published

The license price is easy to compare. The add-on is not: if a large share of your screens are phone calls, the real cost depends on a quote you can only get by asking. Get it in writing before the trial ends.

Where does candidate data go?

ReCo's data model is unusual and, for many candidates, reassuring. Its Privacy Policy (last updated August 22, 2026) and Terms and Conditions say:

  • Transcripts, CVs, reports and chat history are stored locally in your browser and stay on your device after you cancel. ReCo says it keeps no server-side copy of transcript or CV content.
  • Online calls send no audio anywhere, because ReCo reads captions. For phone and face-to-face mode, audio streams from your browser to Speechmatics on servers in the EU, and the policy says neither ReCo nor Speechmatics stores it.
  • AI features use OpenAI's API. The sources you choose are sent when you run a feature; speaker names are replaced with "Recruiter" and "Candidate"; OpenAI keeps API inputs for up to 30 days and does not train on them, per the policy.
  • You are the controller. ReCo acts as a processor, its terms include a data processing addendum under Article 28 GDPR, and candidates' requests go to you, not to ReCo.
  • Usage logs (feature use, AI token consumption, costs, no candidate content) are kept for up to three years.

Section 6 of the terms gives a ready-made candidate notice to paste into an invitation, and the Privacy Policy says ReCo shows in-product reminders of your duties, for example when you start a transcript or upload a CV, including a consent reminder the first time microphone transcription starts in a session. Neither replaces your own notice: in all-party consent states and under GDPR you still tell the candidate before the call. Our consent script has wording. Because ReCo's terms describe recruiters as deployers under the EU AI Act, the EU AI Act guide is worth reading if you hire in Europe. This is not legal advice.

Where does ReCo stop for recruiting?

These gaps come from what ReCo's own pages describe as of November 2026; ask ReCo during the trial, since the product ships often.

  • No Zoom. Only Google Meet and Microsoft Teams are named, both in Chrome. Recruiters whose clients host on Zoom need a second tool.
  • Browser only. ReCo runs in Google Chrome. Calls in the Teams or Meet desktop apps are not captured.
  • Phone screens are a speakerphone setup. Your mobile sits on speaker beside the laptop, on a paid add-on. If your screens run through a softphone, compare other ways to record a phone screen.
  • No ATS integration. ReCo's agencies and executive search pages say it sits next to Bullhorn, JobAdder, Loxo and similar systems and does not replace them. Reports leave as Word files or copied text that you add to the candidate record yourself.
  • No scores. Teams that compare candidates on a rated scorecard will build that themselves.
  • Data lives in one browser. Local storage keeps candidate data off ReCo's servers, but ask what happens when a recruiter changes laptop or Chrome profile, how a colleague takes over a candidate, and how you delete one candidate's session on request.

Who should choose ReCo?

A good fit if:

  • Your interviews run on Google Meet or Teams and you are happy to take them in Chrome.
  • The report for the client is the slow part of your week, and you want it in your own Word template.
  • You hire in Europe and want CV blinding and caption-only capture as part of the workflow.
  • You interview in Polish, German, Danish or Ukrainian as well as English; ReCo names all five.

Look elsewhere if:

  • Clients host on Zoom, or you take calls in desktop meeting apps.
  • Most screens are phone calls and you want them included in the price.
  • You want rated scorecards, or notes written straight into your ATS.

We make Interview Signal, a Windows and macOS desktop app that also works without a bot and covers Zoom, Teams, Meet and phone screens run through the computer, with a live question guide and a scorecard whose quotes are checked against the transcript, though it has no ATS integration either; everything about ReCo on this page comes from ReCo's own site, linked and dated. Our side-by-side comparison sets out where ReCo is the better choice, and AI note takers without a bot covers the wider field.

Questions people ask

What is ReCo for recruiters?

ReCo (usereco.io) is a Chrome extension that its maker, Recruiter Companion Labs in Kraków, Poland, calls an AI notetaker and interview workspace for recruiters. As of November 2026 it keeps the job description, the candidate's CV, an interview guide, your notes and a live transcript in one place, then drafts a candidate summary or a client recommendation report that you edit and export to Word.

Does ReCo join the interview as a bot?

No. As of November 2026 ReCo transcribes Google Meet and Microsoft Teams interviews by reading the call's closed captions in Chrome, so nothing joins the meeting and no audio or video is captured for online calls. The call and ReCo both have to run in Chrome, not in the Teams or Meet desktop apps.

Does ReCo work with Zoom or phone screens?

ReCo's pages name Google Meet and Microsoft Teams only, so Zoom is not covered as of November 2026. Phone screens work if you call from your own phone on speakerphone next to the laptop, which ReCo captures through the computer microphone as a paid add-on priced on request.

How much does ReCo cost?

ReCo publishes one plan at €39 per license per month, plus VAT for businesses or with VAT included for individuals, with a 14-day free trial and no credit card, as of November 2026. Teams of five or more licenses get a custom quote, and phone and face-to-face transcription is an add-on priced on request.

Does ReCo integrate with an ATS such as Bullhorn?

No. ReCo says it works alongside an ATS or recruitment CRM such as Bullhorn, JobAdder or Loxo and does not replace it, but it lists no integration as of November 2026. Reports leave ReCo as an editable Word document or as copied text that you add to the candidate record yourself.
