Healthcare staffing recruiters use Interview Signal to screen nurses, allied health professionals and other clinicians on calls that run through their computer, with the facility's requirements set as must-ask questions, and to turn each screen into a submittal in the built-in "Contract / temp" template ("Available from" and "Rate" in the top lines) or the agency's own. There is no ATS integration: the app copies a note shaped for Bullhorn or JobAdder, and for other systems you paste the submittal or attach a Word file. Transcripts stay on the recruiter's computer. This describes version 0.9.10, current as of October 2026.

How does a healthcare staffing recruiter use Interview Signal?

  1. Turn the facility's order into a role. Press "New role", paste the job description, and type what the facility actually requires into "What the client actually wants": unit, shift, start date, the requirements they reject submittals over. That box outranks the job description wherever they disagree. Choose "HR screen" or "Balanced" as the "Interview type", and "Contract / temp" as the "Submittal template".
  2. Set the must-asks. A generated kit marks three to five: notice period, compensation expectation, work authorization, location when the brief implies it, and at most two capability questions the brief raises. Tick "Must ask" on the ones your facilities need answered, for example license state, a required certification and shift (example list), and keep the list short, because each one stays pinned in the guide until asked.
  3. Screen the clinician. Take the call through the computer, choose "Phone" under "How are you speaking?", and read the consent line; on a phone screen you often do not know which state the candidate is in. Phone setups are in Interview Signal for phone screens.
  4. Write it up. "End interview" opens the submittal in the role's template. Check every "Not discussed." line and every figure, then copy or export it.
  5. Put it in your ATS, by hand, as in the table below.

What does the Contract / temp submittal contain?

PartWhat appears
HeadingThe candidate and the role, marked "(contract)"
Top linesRecommendation and Fit, then "Available from" and "Rate"
Fit for the assignmentWhy they fit, from the transcript
Directly relevant experienceStrengths, with the candidate's own words
RisksWhat to probe, including where an attached CV claims something the call did not establish
LogisticsWhat was said about the practical side of the assignment
Evidence from the interviewWord-for-word quotes, already checked against the transcript

Two writing rules matter on a healthcare desk. Pay figures keep the units they were spoken in: the model is told never to add a currency, unit or order of magnitude the candidate did not say, and if a currency symbol appears on a figure when no currency was named in the call, the app removes it and warns you to add the right one before sending. And anything the screen did not cover is written as "Not discussed.", which tells you what to chase before the facility sees it. An admin can copy the template under "Templates" in the web account and rename sections; see submittal templates.

How do I get the screen into our ATS?

Your systemWhat to useWatch for
Bullhorn"Copy ATS note…", then "Bullhorn note": an interview line with role and date, the fit and recommendation, the summary, then "Available:" and "Compensation:"With the Contract / temp template, the note picks up "Available from" but does not read the "Rate" line as compensation, so the pay line may be missing; add it before saving
JobAdder"JobAdder note": candidate and role, who interviewed and when, the fit, the summary, availability and "Rate/salary"The same: the rate may need typing in
Ceipal, Avionté or another system"Copy" for the whole submittal, "Export .docx" to attach a Word file, or "Add CSV row" for a spreadsheet of every candidateNothing is shaped for these systems; paste into the candidate record

Every route is copy and paste; Interview Signal writes nothing into any ATS. The buttons are explained in exports, and system-specific notes in AI note takers for Bullhorn and AI note takers for Ceipal.

What stays private on a healthcare desk?

  • Transcripts, quotes, candidate names, notes, CVs and submittals are stored on the recruiter's computer and never uploaded.
  • The candidate's name and the facility or company are sent to the AI model when it writes the submittal, and an attached CV is sent during the interview.
  • Audio goes to a speech-to-text provider in short chunks and is not retained; the server keeps counts and durations.
  • The security page makes no HIPAA claim and does not mention a business associate agreement. A data processing agreement is available on request. If your agency's policy calls for more, ask [email protected] before rolling it out. Not legal advice.

What does Interview Signal not do for healthcare staffing?

  • It does not verify licenses or credentials. It records what the clinician said; checking a license or certification is still your credentialing step.
  • No ATS or VMS integration. Everything is pasted or attached by hand.
  • Calls must run through the computer. A screen taken on a mobile away from the desk is not captured, and there is no mobile app.
  • Desktop only, on Windows 10 or 11 or macOS 13 or newer, with no video recording and no audio file kept.
  • A newer product with few public reviews; try it on a live order first.

Which plan fits a healthcare staffing desk?

As of October 2026: one recruiter screening most days fits Solo at $49 a month ($468 a year), with unlimited interviews; a desk of three or more fits Team at $59 per seat per month, or $49 billed yearly, which adds shared roles and templates, admins and a weekly coaching report. Pay as you go hours ($9 for 1, $29 for 5, $69 for 15) suit occasional screening. See pricing and, for the agency-wide setup, Interview Signal for staffing agencies. Questions people ask

Can Interview Signal transcribe phone screens with nurses?

Yes, when the call runs through the recruiter's computer, for example in a softphone or calling app on it, so the nurse's voice plays through the computer's sound. A call on a separate handset is not captured, and a mobile on speaker beside the laptop puts both voices on the microphone, which limits the scorecard the way an in-person interview does.

Does Interview Signal integrate with Bullhorn, Ceipal or Avionté for healthcare staffing?

No. As of October 2026 Interview Signal has no ATS integration. It copies a note shaped for Bullhorn, Greenhouse, Lever or JobAdder to your clipboard to paste into the candidate record. For Ceipal, Avionté or any other system, you paste the submittal text, attach the Word file, or work from the CSV export.

Is Interview Signal HIPAA compliant?

As of October 2026 Interview Signal's security page makes no HIPAA claim and does not mention a business associate agreement. It says transcripts, candidate names and notes stay on the recruiter's computer, audio is not retained, and a data processing agreement is available on request. If your agency's policy requires more, ask support before rolling it out; this is not legal advice.

Which Interview Signal submittal template suits travel and contract healthcare roles?

The built-in Contract / temp template, which puts Available from and Rate in its top lines and has sections for fit for the assignment, directly relevant experience, risks, logistics and evidence from the interview. An admin can copy it in the web account and rename or add headings for the agency's own format.
