Dayforce Recruiting puts its AI at the top of the funnel. As of October 2026 its recruiting page describes AI-assisted screening and candidate scoring, an AI Assistant that helps create job requisitions, AI-written job descriptions, texting, and automation of interview scheduling. It does not describe recording, transcribing or summarizing a live interview, so AI notes come from integrations.

Those integrations are shaped by how Dayforce's data model works. The clearest example: Metaview, the notetaker with the most detailed Dayforce documentation, adds interview notes as a PDF attachment because Dayforce does not expose text notes, interviews or scorecards to it. This page explains what that means in practice, the alternatives, and what to test. Every vendor fact links to the page we checked.

What Dayforce does natively

  • AI screening: Dayforce's recruiting page describes AI-assisted screening that ignores applicants' names, ages and genders, and pre-screening questions with AI-assisted candidate scoring.
  • AI Assistant: the same page describes Dayforce's AI Assistant streamlining requisition creation, and AI-generated job descriptions from skills, keywords or previous postings.
  • Scheduling and texting: it describes automating interview scheduling, assessments and background checks, and texting candidates through the Dayforce platform.

Because Dayforce already scores candidates with AI at screening, adding an AI interview tool means your process has AI at two points. Keep a record of what each does: federal anti-discrimination rules apply to AI-assisted decisions even after the EEOC withdrew its earlier AI documents, as our EEOC guidance overview explains. A notetaker that only records and summarizes is a lower-risk addition than a tool that scores, but your inventory should still list it.

Questions to settle before choosing

Dayforce customers are typically mid-market or enterprise, with interviews spread across many hiring managers who book their own meetings. Before comparing tools, answer these internally:

  1. Where are interviews booked? If most are booked from Outlook or Google Calendar rather than through a dedicated scheduling tool, choose a notetaker that matches calendar events, since nothing can be scheduled from Dayforce itself.
  2. Where should the record live? Decide whether the official interview record is the Dayforce application, the notetaker, or both. That decides retention and who answers a candidate's access request.
  3. Who reads the notes? If hiring managers rarely open Dayforce, an attachment there may matter less than the notetaker's own sharing.
  4. Which roles are in scope? Executive and sensitive internal roles are often excluded from recording; write the exclusions down before rollout.

Metaview on Dayforce: what the PDF approach means

Metaview's Dayforce article is unusually explicit about limits. The connection is authorized through Kombo, a Metaview subprocessor, and:

  • Notes arrive as a PDF attachment on the candidate's application.
  • No text notes, interviews or scorecards: Metaview says it does not request access to them in Dayforce.
  • No automatic scheduling: Dayforce does not support an interviews model, so interviews must be booked through your calendar, and Metaview matches them to candidates.
  • No links: Dayforce does not support adding Metaview note links.
  • No sourcing from Dayforce data, though Metaview can add sourced candidates and move or reject applications if you grant those optional permissions.

Practically, a PDF attachment is a fixed record that reviewers open from the application, rather than text they can read in a feed. That has two sides. It is harder to skim than a note, but it is also a clean, unedited record of the interview summary, which some compliance teams prefer. Metaview's pricing page lists a free tier of 25 calls a month and Pro at $60 a user a month.

VidCruiter: an interviewing platform inside Dayforce

VidCruiter takes a different approach. Its Dayforce integration page describes running pre-recorded, live and in-person interviews from the Dayforce platform, with calendar-based scheduling and SMS and email invitations. VidCruiter pulls candidate information from Dayforce and updates the candidate record with a profile link containing the data collected during its interview process. That suits teams willing to move interviews onto VidCruiter; it does not capture a Teams call a hiring manager booked from Outlook.

Making PDF notes work for hiring managers

If you choose Metaview, a few habits make attachments usable:

  1. Keep the template short. A one-page PDF gets opened; a six-page transcript summary does not.
  2. Lead with the recommendation and evidence, so the first lines answer the hiring manager's question.
  3. Name attachments consistently if your settings allow, with interview type and date, so several PDFs on one application are distinguishable.
  4. Pair it with the evaluation. Ask interviewers to cite the PDF in their Dayforce evaluation ("see interview summary, 12 May") rather than paraphrasing it.

Our guide to evidence-based interview feedback shows how to write evaluations that quote the record.

Enterprise setup: who needs to be involved

Dayforce is usually run by an HRIS team, not recruiting. Before connecting anything, agree:

  • The connection owner: who authorizes the Kombo connection and who maintains it when people change roles.
  • Permissions: whether optional write permissions (creating candidates, moving or rejecting applications) are granted, and to whom.
  • Data protection review: Kombo and the notetaker are both subprocessors. Our DPA guide for recruiting software lists what to check.
  • Retention: PDFs attached in Dayforce follow Dayforce retention; recordings in the notetaker follow its own. Align them.

What it costs, as an example

We did not find published prices for Dayforce Recruiting or VidCruiter on the pages we checked, so only the notetaker side can be estimated. An illustrative example as of October 2026, not a quote, for a talent team of eight recruiters plus twenty hiring managers who interview occasionally:

Metaview Pro for 8 recruiters: $60 × 8 = $480/month
Hiring managers on Metaview Free: $0 (up to 25 calls each per month)

VidCruiter: no price on the pages we checked; ask VidCruiter
Dayforce Recruiting: per your Dayforce contract

Splitting heavy and occasional interviewers across paid and free tiers is often the cheapest way to cover a large panel, provided occasional interviewers stay under the free limit.

The phone-screen gap

Dayforce's texting does not record calls, and the integrations above focus on scheduled interviews. Metaview's phone calls guide describes calling candidates through a registered number, which would produce the same PDF notes. Otherwise, see our guide to recording a phone screen.

Consent to record given: [Yes]

Fitting on one page is the point: it is the difference between a PDF that gets read and one that gets skipped. Use our consent script for the opening line of every recorded interview.

Standalone tools, and who each option suits

Interview Signal has no Dayforce integration. It is a desktop app with no bot that captures audio on the interviewer's computer, including phone screens, and exports a scorecard quoting the candidate that you attach to the Dayforce application or paste into an evaluation.

  • Metaview: teams that want automatic notes on Dayforce applications and accept the PDF format.
  • VidCruiter: teams ready to run interviews on a dedicated platform connected to Dayforce.
  • A standalone tool: phone screens, interviews booked outside the calendar, or teams waiting on HRIS approval for a connection.

Questions people ask

Does Dayforce have a built-in AI notetaker for interviews?

Not that we could find as of October 2026. Dayforce's recruiting page describes AI-assisted screening and candidate scoring, an AI Assistant for job requisitions, AI-generated job descriptions, texting and automation of interview scheduling, but not recording or summarizing live interviews.

How does Metaview write notes into Dayforce?

Metaview's help center says notes are added as a PDF attachment to the candidate's application. Metaview does not request access to text notes, interviews or scorecards in Dayforce, cannot add links to its notes, and cannot schedule calls automatically because Dayforce does not support an interviews model, so it matches calls booked through your calendar.

Can a notetaker fill Dayforce scorecards?

Not through Metaview's integration: its Dayforce article says scorecard data is not available. Interviewers still complete Dayforce evaluations themselves, using the PDF notes as evidence.

What does VidCruiter do with Dayforce?

VidCruiter's Dayforce page says it pulls candidate information from Dayforce and updates the candidate record with a link to all data collected during the VidCruiter interview process, covering pre-recorded, live and in-person interviews scheduled from Dayforce. It is an interviewing platform rather than a notetaker for meetings held elsewhere.
