Top Echelon's recruiting software, TE Recruit (formerly Big Biller), has no recorder of its own as of October 2026. Top Echelon's own AI page points to its CoRecruit integration for AI call insights, and its marketplace lists CoRecruit, the CallMantra phone system and RingCentral. CoRecruit writes notes and field updates to the TE Recruit Person record, CallMantra logs calls with AI-generated notes, and any other tool's notes can be pasted into a Completed Activity.
This page covers only what works with TE Recruit: what Top Echelon builds in, which partners write into it, their published prices, how to log notes by hand, and what to test. We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated. For the wider market across agency systems, see our guide to AI notetakers for staffing agencies.
What is TE Recruit, and what happened to Big Biller?
Big Biller is now TE Recruit. Top Echelon's product page calls it "formerly Big Biller" and the modern evolution of a recruiting ATS trusted by agencies for more than 25 years. It is an ATS and recruiting CRM aimed at boutique staffing agencies, direct-hire placement firms and executive search firms, sold alongside TE Network, Top Echelon's split-placement network. A free trial needs no credit card.
Published prices on Top Echelon's pricing page, as of October 2026:
- Standard: $79 per user per month billed annually, or $95 billed monthly.
- Professional: $95 per user per month billed annually, or $115 billed monthly. It adds Smart-TE AI, natural language search, AI People Search (beta), automations, sequences, inbound email sync and API access.
Does Top Echelon have its own AI notetaker?
No. Top Echelon's AI and Automation page lists AI People Search, AI job description generation and AI Matching, which is marked coming soon. For calls, the same page offers "AI-Powered Call Insights" through the CoRecruit integration, which it says will automatically capture and summarize recruiting conversations, and AI sourcing through Talin.ai. In other words, Top Echelon has chosen a partner for call notes rather than building a recorder, and it names that partner on its own site.
Which AI notetakers list a Top Echelon integration?
Top Echelon's marketplace lists CoRecruit (formerly Quil), CallMantra, RingCentral, SourceWhale and SparkHire among its partners, as of October 2026. Metaview's integrations directory did not list Top Echelon when we checked.
CoRecruit
CoRecruit's Top Echelon page says it connects using your existing Top Echelon login and turns intake, interview, client and reference calls into structured notes that it pushes into the correct Person record. It updates standard and user-defined fields of the Text, Dropdown and Number types as soon as a call ends, lets you pick the activity type for each meeting from a dropdown, and uploads summaries and follow-up materials as attachments on the Person record.
CoRecruit's pricing page describes botless notetaking across cell phone calls, VoIP, Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Webex, WhatsApp, FaceTime and in-person meetings. Starter is $85 per user per month on a 12-month term, or $64 paid annually upfront; all plans have a 12-month minimum, and a 7-day free trial is advertised. Our CoRecruit alternatives page compares it with other agency notetakers.
CallMantra
CallMantra is a calling and texting system. Its Top Echelon page describes one-click calling and texting inside the ATS and says calls, texts and AI-generated notes are logged in Top Echelon, with key details such as salary, skills and availability captured. Its pricing page puts Smart Call Recording on the Pro plan and AI Call Intelligence with ATS sync on Premier, listed at $79.95 per user per month, with a three-license minimum and a $69 one-time registration fee per number.
RingCentral and SourceWhale
Top Echelon's marketplace describes RingCentral as voice calling, SMS, voicemail, video meetings and team messaging with automatic activity logging; it does not mention AI notes, so check RingCentral's plan, covered in our RingCentral for recruiting review. SourceWhale appears for outreach, and its Notetaker joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet calls, but neither page says its notes write into TE Recruit.
How do the Top Echelon options compare?
As published on each vendor's own pages, as of October 2026. "Not stated" means the linked pages do not say.
| Option | How it captures | Bot? | Phone screens | Link to TE Recruit | Published price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CoRecruit | Cell phone, VoIP, Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, WhatsApp, in person (pricing page) | No visible bot | Yes, mobile and VoIP | Notes to Person record, fields, activity type, attachments (TE page) | Starter $85/user/month on a 12-month term, or $64 paid upfront | Agencies that want fields filled and notes written without a bot |
| CallMantra | Its own calling and texting system | No meeting bot | Yes, calls through CallMantra | Calls, texts and AI-generated notes logged (TE page) | Premier $79.95/user/month, 3-license minimum (pricing) | Phone-heavy desks ready to change dialer |
| RingCentral | Its own phone and video system | No meeting bot | Yes, calls through RingCentral | Automatic activity logging (marketplace) | Not stated in the listing | Firms already on RingCentral |
| Interview Signal | Desktop app records the interviewer's own computer audio | No bot | Yes, if the call runs through the computer | None; you paste an activity | Free 20 minutes; 5 hours $29; Solo $49/month; Team $59/seat/month (pricing) | Recruiters who want a quoted scorecard and submittal per screen |
How do you log AI notes in TE Recruit without an integration?
As a Completed Activity, per Top Echelon's Activities article:
- Open the datasheet of the Person, Company or Job.
- Click the Log icon in the Completed Activities card.
- In Add Completed Activity, select the Activity Type, paste the summary into the details, and relate the job and company the call was about.
- Click Log, or Log & Add Follow-up to schedule the next step at the same time.
- Attach the full scorecard on the record's Attachments tab by dragging the file in or clicking Browse, per the attachments article.
A logged activity appears on every related record and in the Planner, so relating the job matters: it puts the screen note where the account manager will look. Our guide to getting AI notes into an ATS without an integration compares pasting with email and API routes.
What should you check for privacy and consent?
- Notice on every call. Botless and phone-system capture shows the candidate nothing, so the notice must come from the recruiter. Use one consent line every time.
- Calls across state lines. Agencies call candidates in many states, and some states require every party's consent; see recording calls across state lines.
- Split placements. If you share candidates through TE Network, check what a partner firm can see before AI notes with compensation or personal details go on the record.
- Field updates. Decide which user-defined fields a partner may change automatically, and review salary and availability before they overwrite anything.
- Retention. Recordings and transcripts in a partner's cloud are a second copy; set a retention period and test deleting one candidate's data there and in TE Recruit.
What should you test before rollout?
| Check | Pass looks like | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Record matching | Notes land on the existing Person, not a duplicate or the client contact | |
| Activity type | Uses the type your activity reports count | |
| Field updates | Dropdown and number fields take valid values only and never overwrite with a guess | |
| Attachments | Summaries attach to the right Person and open correctly | |
| Phone coverage | Calls from a recruiter's mobile are captured, or the gap is documented | |
| Deletion | A candidate's recordings and transcripts can be removed in the partner and in TE Recruit |
Which option fits which Top Echelon desk?
- CoRecruit: best for agencies that screen by phone and video and want notes, fields and attachments written without a visible bot, accepting a 12-month term.
- CallMantra: best for phone-heavy desks that want calling, texting and AI notes in one tool.
- RingCentral: best for firms already standardized on it that mainly need calls logged.
- A standalone tool and paste: best for solo recruiters and small boutiques on the Standard plan, or firms that will not add another integration.
Interview Signal sits in the last group: it has no Top Echelon integration. It is a desktop app for Windows and macOS with no bot, so phone screens taken through the computer and video calls are captured the same way, and it produces a scorecard with the candidate's own quotes and a submittal in your agency's template, with transcripts kept on the recruiter's computer. Its ready-made ATS note formats are for Bullhorn, Greenhouse, Lever and JobAdder only, so in TE Recruit you paste the plain or Markdown version into a Completed Activity. It is desktop only, newer with few public reviews, and does not record video.
Questions people ask
Is Big Biller still sold by Top Echelon?
Yes, under a new name. As of October 2026 Top Echelon sells TE Recruit, which its product page calls the modern evolution of Big Biller and labels formerly Big Biller. It is an ATS and recruiting CRM for staffing agencies, direct-hire and executive search firms, with Standard and Professional plans.
Does Top Echelon have a built-in AI notetaker?
Not of its own. Top Echelon's AI and Automation page lists AI People Search, AI job descriptions and AI matching (coming soon), and offers AI-powered call insights through its CoRecruit integration, which captures and summarizes recruiting conversations, as of October 2026.
Which AI notetakers integrate with TE Recruit?
CoRecruit is in Top Echelon's marketplace and its own Top Echelon page says it writes notes to the Person record, updates standard and user-defined fields and attaches summaries. CallMantra, also in the marketplace, logs calls, texts and AI-generated notes in Top Echelon on its Premier plan. RingCentral is listed for calling with activity logging.
How do I add interview notes to TE Recruit by hand?
Open the Person, Company or Job datasheet, click the Log icon in the Completed Activities card, choose an Activity Type, paste the notes, relate any records and click Log. Upload the full scorecard on the record's Attachments tab, per Top Echelon's help center as of October 2026.
