Cornerstone does not record or transcribe interviews itself, so an AI notetaker for Cornerstone is always a separate tool. As of October 2026 the only note taker we found that lists Cornerstone is Metaview, whose integrations directory names both Cornerstone and Cornerstone TalentLink; Cornerstone's own list of recruiting integrations names video interview vendors such as HireVue but no AI note taker. Without an integration, notes go into Cornerstone's interview guide comments (2,000 characters per question) or the applicant's Comments tab (1,000 characters plus a file).
This page explains which Cornerstone recruiting product you are likely on, what Cornerstone does natively around interviews, which integrations we checked, exactly where pasted notes fit, and a note format sized for Cornerstone's limits. Facts are dated October 2026 and link to the page we read. Many Cornerstone customers also run Workday or SAP; if interviews are scored there instead, see our Workday and SAP SuccessFactors guides.
Which Cornerstone recruiting product do you have?
Cornerstone sells two, and vendors treat them as different systems:
- Cornerstone Recruiting is part of the Cornerstone platform (now marketed as Cornerstone Workforce AI) with onboarding and internal mobility. Its documentation lives in the public Cornerstone help center, which this page uses.
- Cornerstone TalentLink is described as a single global platform for high-volume, seasonal, permanent, contingent or internal hiring. Its field limits are not covered here; ask your administrator.
Cornerstone says over 7,000 organizations use it. Neither product page publishes a price.
What does Cornerstone do natively around interviews?
From the Cornerstone help center, all pages showing "Last Published: 23 October 2026":
- Interview Manager: the page interviewers use to see their interviews, open the applicant's resume and profile, launch the interview guide and recommend that an applicant be advanced or not advanced.
- Interview guides: an administrator sets competencies, a rating scale and questions. Below each question is an Add Comments box of up to 2,000 characters, and comments cannot be edited after the guide is submitted (applicant evaluation).
- Enhanced interview scheduling (Early Adopter): recruiters schedule in-person, telephone or virtual interviews, with optional Microsoft Teams meeting and Outlook calendar integrations. Cornerstone notes it is incompatible with existing live video interview integrations and that cancelling an interview deletes its details with no recovery (help page).
- Video interviews: a Video Interview Connector lets any video interview vendor build an integration for on-demand and live interviews, and a HireVue integration lets recruiters invite candidates to HireVue On Demand and Live interviews from Cornerstone.
- Candidate Skills Match: AI technology powered by Cornerstone's Skills Platform that scores candidates for screening, which Cornerstone labels a pre-release version (feature activation).
None of these records or transcribes the conversation. The latest recruiting release notes in the help center cover a modernized interface, time zone based job posting and one-time passcode sign-in, not an interview recorder.
Which AI note takers list a Cornerstone integration?
| Where we looked | What it shows, as of October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Cornerstone's help center, Integrations for Recruiting | Background checks, assessments, job distribution, LinkedIn, Paradox scheduling, Phenom (see our Phenom page), HireVue and other video interview vendors. No AI note taker. |
| Metaview's Cornerstone and Cornerstone TalentLink pages | Says Metaview records, transcribes and summarizes calls scheduled through the ATS and syncs notes to candidate records; the TalentLink page adds pushing sourced candidates into TalentLink. |
| Metaview's help center ATS guides | No Cornerstone or TalentLink setup guide, unlike its Workday and SAP SuccessFactors guides. |
| BrightHire, Employ's AI Interview Companion, Fireflies | Cornerstone not listed on their integration pages. |
Before buying Metaview for Cornerstone, ask it to show a note arriving on a test applicant, and to say whether the note lands in the interview guide, the Comments tab or the Documents tab, and what permissions its integration user needs. Its directory page does not say.
How do you get notes into Cornerstone without an integration?
Cornerstone gives you two places, and they behave differently (Comments tab help):
| Place | Limit | Who sees it | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interview guide, Add Comments under each question | 2,000 characters per question; locked after submit | The hiring team reviewing that guide | Quotes that support each competency rating |
| Applicant Profile, Comments tab | 1,000 characters; one attachment (.doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt, up to 5 MB) | Users with comment permissions; the file also shows on the Documents tab | A short summary plus the full scorecard as a PDF |
- Paste per question first. Put the candidate's own words under the question they answered, then rate. That is the record the debrief reads.
- Check your permission. Whether an interviewer's recommendation comment also appears on the Applicant Profile depends on the "Applicants: Comments - Manage" permission, per Cornerstone's help.
- Attach, don't dump. A 1,000-character comment cannot hold a transcript. Attach the scorecard as a PDF if your team wants the full write-up in Cornerstone.
- Remember deletion. Deleting a comment also deletes its attachment from the Documents tab, so do not use comments you might delete for files you need to keep.
Our guide to AI notes without an ATS integration covers the method for any system.
How do the realistic options compare?
We make Interview Signal, one of the tools below; everything about the other products comes from their own sites, linked and dated. As of October 2026.
| Option | How it captures the call | Bot or no bot | Phone screens | Cornerstone link | Published price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cornerstone native | Does not record; interviewers type in the guide | Not applicable | Telephone interviews can be scheduled, not recorded | Native | Not published | Teams happy with typed notes in structured guides |
| HireVue via Cornerstone's integration | HireVue On Demand and Live video interviews | Its own video platform | Not stated on Cornerstone's page | Invite and track from Cornerstone | Not published on Cornerstone's page | High-volume teams replacing first screens with video interviews |
| Metaview | Notetaker joins video calls, or a Mac and Windows desktop app | Bot, or no bot with the desktop app | Yes, through its phone feature (guide) | Listed in its directory; no setup guide | Free 25 calls a month; Pro $60 per user a month (pricing) | Teams that want a recruiting note taker and will confirm the Cornerstone sync |
| Interview Signal | Desktop app on the interviewer's Windows or Mac computer | No bot | Yes, when the call runs through the computer | None; you paste | Free 20 minutes; 5 hours $29; Solo $49 a month | Interviewers who want quote-backed scorecards without a bot or a new vendor integration |
Interview Signal has no Cornerstone integration. You copy the scorecard, or export Markdown or Word, and paste the quotes into the guide; its ready-made note formats cover Bullhorn, Greenhouse, Lever and JobAdder only. It is desktop only, does not record video, is a newer product with few public reviews, and phone screens must run through the computer.
What should you check for privacy and consent?
- Who approves new recorders. Cornerstone customers are usually large, with security review, a privacy lead and, in Europe, employee representatives. Agree scope in writing before a pilot.
- Notice on every call. Nothing in Cornerstone adds a recording notice for an outside tool, so say it at the start of the call. Our consent script has wording, and calls across state lines covers mixed-state calls.
- Candidates in the EU or UK. Recording and transcripts are personal data with a lawful basis, notice and retention period; see recording interviews under UK GDPR and the EU AI Act for recruiting.
- Retention. Pasted quotes inherit Cornerstone's retention; transcripts kept by an outside tool need their own rule.
This is not legal advice.
What should you test before rollout?
| Check | Pass looks like | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Product | The vendor confirms Cornerstone Recruiting or TalentLink, whichever you run | |
| Placement | Notes appear where hiring managers look: guide comments, Comments tab or Documents tab | |
| Limits | Nothing is cut off at 1,000 or 2,000 characters | |
| Ratings | Interviewers enter ratings and the recommendation themselves | |
| Teams interviews | The note taker works with interviews created by the new scheduling workflow | |
| Deletion | A candidate's recording and transcript can be removed outside Cornerstone too |
A note format sized for Cornerstone's fields
Under each guide question (stays well under 2,000 characters):
Evidence: "[candidate's words, one or two sentences]"
Evidence: "[second example, if given]"
Gap: [what they did not show]
On the Comments tab (under 1,000 characters), with the full scorecard attached as a PDF:
[Interview type] – [Date] – [Interviewer]
Recommendation: [advance / do not advance], my judgment
Strongest evidence: "[quote]"
Main concern: [one line]
Next round should test: [one line]
Recorded with consent: [yes / no]. Full scorecard attached.
Who should pick which option?
- Cornerstone native guides: best for teams where structured, typed notes are enough and no recorder is approved.
- HireVue through Cornerstone: best for high-volume roles where a video interview replaces the first live screen.
- Metaview: best for teams that want recorded, summarized interviews and are willing to verify the Cornerstone sync in a test.
- Interview Signal: best for individual interviewers who want no bot, quote-backed notes and transcripts on their own computer, pasted into the guide.

Questions people ask
Does Cornerstone have a built-in AI notetaker for interviews?
Not one we could find as of October 2026. Cornerstone's help center describes interview guides, an Interview Manager, an early adopter interview scheduling workflow with optional Microsoft Teams and Outlook calendar integrations, and an AI-based Candidate Skills Match in pre-release, but nothing that records or transcribes an interview.
Which AI note takers work with Cornerstone?
Metaview's integrations directory lists both Cornerstone and Cornerstone TalentLink and says it records, transcribes and summarizes calls scheduled through the ATS and syncs notes to candidate records, but its help center had no Cornerstone setup guide in October 2026. Cornerstone's own list of recruiting integrations names video interview vendors such as HireVue and no AI note taker.
Where should interview notes go in Cornerstone Recruiting?
In the interview guide, where each question has an Add Comments box of up to 2,000 characters that cannot be edited after the guide is submitted. Recruiters can also post comments of up to 1,000 characters on the Applicant Profile Comments tab, with one .doc, .docx, .pdf or .txt attachment of up to 5 MB that also appears on the Documents tab.
Is Cornerstone TalentLink the same as Cornerstone Recruiting?
No. Cornerstone sells both. TalentLink is described as a single global platform for high-volume, seasonal, permanent, contingent or internal hiring, while Cornerstone Recruiting is part of the Cornerstone platform alongside onboarding. Metaview lists them as separate integrations, so confirm which one your company runs before you ask a vendor about a connection.
